Despite it being a busy Saturday night the service was very accommodating. Very reasonable prices and they've got a pretty nice selection on Sake and Soju, too. If your looking for a unique vibe this is it. Parking can be difficult on a Saturday night but I lucked out and found front row.“

The kitchen does a phenomenal job of cleaning and prepping the ingredients—the pork stomach has an excellent texture with zero gaminess. “Went here with my cousin today, the food was absolutely delicious. The portions were very generous! You start with a chicken dish (we got medium spice/size) and it was more than enough for two people to share. The flavor was phenomenal. I particularly liked the onions. After you finish your first dish, they come by and fill your bowl with chicken broth, turning it into a delicious hot pot. All sides you can add on are generous as well. Overall, wonderful experience. We will be coming back for sure!“

We ordered sushi, orange chicken, house lo mein, and soup, all of which were prepared well. Toward the end of our meal, however, we did feel slightly rushed as tables around us were being cleared. Came in at 8:30, and the chef and staff still warmly welcomed us in, and even gave 3 jelly desserts on the house!

Lamb noodle soup was really good, solid lamb flavor without being too overwhelming
It was also a lot of food, and a balanced amount of lamb as well
Cucumber side dish was also really good, there’s almost a flavor of peppercorn but no numbness of it
Crispy chicken (5 on the snack section), was really good the skin was crispy

“We were looking for a halal Chinese restaurant around the Sugarland area and this place was the first to pop up. The food and quality was so good, as well as the service and atmosphere. The drinks were delicious especially the mango mojito. Their hot and sour soup was so filling and flavorful. Sesame chicken and shrimp lo mein was also so yummy!“

“I have been ordering from Happy Lamp for 20+ years. Our company orders from Happy Lamp almost every Friday for lunch. The prices are reasonable and the food is always hot and fresh. The owners are welcoming and always have smiles on their faces when I walk through the door. “This place is our new obsession. The oil splashed noodles are incredible, and if you add beef it’s so tender. We also love the cold noodles (which does have nuts, warning for food allergies) and steamed mutton. The dumplings are great of course, but the noodle dishes are the star of the show. You cannot find noodles like these anywhere else in Houston, or at least we’ve yet to find any. It would be dangerous if I lived nearby, we already go every week. The woman at the register is very kind as well, and the restaurant is mostly a self serve format. Prices are great, hard to beat nowadays.“

I normally order extra protein but there was no need. We split the chili oil wontons and they were great; sweet and not very spicy. My friend loved the dan dan noodles and said they definitely have a kick. The customer service was great! Bashi is now on our lunchtime rotation.“

“Holy moly. This is by far the best Chinese food I’ve ever had in Houston. Houston has very good Chinese food but dang this place just knocks it out the park. The service was wonderful….all the waitresses were super nice and helpful. It was our first time there and this will definitely be our first stop to Houston. We were lucky to be able to snag a raw marinated shrimp before they ran out. And it did not disappoint. Sad we couldn’t try everything though.“
