“This restaurant is a little different than most, it feels like visiting grandma at her farm house.. in the best kind of way.The outside has many picnic tables on a grassy area, as well as a patio with metal tables and chairs. The outside eating areas are pet friendly, and I saw several small dogs enjoying their family outing. There is also tables inside with wooden benches and chairs.You order at a register and sit down with a numbered plastic tent. There is a little section to get your own drinks, sugar, creamer, condiments, etc.The food quantities are Texas big, and the quality is amazing. I ended up getting way too much food, so I left with to-go boxes. I got the Forky Bowl; which is a bacon, egg, and cheese scramble over the top of a huge layer of tater tots. I also got the Banana Foster pancakes.. which are as big as the plate.You can tell that the place is 5/5 because the restaurant is busy with customers. There was a bit of a line, but the employees were quick to try to take care of everyone.I am so happy that I tried this place, and I will definitely be back! Just be sure to check their hours because they are breakfast and lunch only.“

“My Husband and I come here almost every weekend. Not only do they have some yummy breakfast and brunch items but I absolutely love how involved with the community they are. They post updates for menu changes, specials, and if the hours are chabged for any reason. If you dont follow them on facebook and instagram you should. They ask for suggestions on what the community would like to see or eat, and the coffee?!?!?! I am a coffee snob because I was a barista for many years and I looooove the options they have to pair with yummy pastries. Definitely a must to go and experience, and they have a pick up option and drive thru if you don't like dining in! I have not once had terrible service in the numerous times I've been, all the servers and employees are super polite and accommodating and so helpful if you feel stuck and want something new. And of course, everything on the menu is delicious, as Shipley's does and still good the next day.The reason I love and go to this particular location they make the cutest donuts! They won my kids and I over during halloween season when we got donuts with spiders and while we've been customers of Shipley's for years now, this is the first time I've seen anything different and above and beyond the usual frosting and sprinkles at Shipley's ?Not real spiders, btw. lol Just a donut hole and frosting for legs, but it was just so cute, and we're here for it. We visited on a Monday and we still had to wait 20 mins to he seated. The booths are large enough to seat 3 people per side. The menu was large and had a lot of options. No prices were listed on the menu. You can scan a QR code to see the prices on your phone. No sweet tea and paper straws. Large portions of food. The texas waffle was topped with peaches.The omlet was large enough to feed 2 people easilyYou got to pick your fresh veggies that would be placed in the omelette. Servers were attentive. BUT as we sat outside enjoying the quaint New Braunfels City center we were assulted (not really) by a leaf blower, street sweeper, increasingly aggressive drivers navigating the oval at ridiculous speeds and an unwelcome seasoning (dust) from same. “I am a regular at this place and recently have started seeing some new faces. I love the older staff! Today I stopped by to get my quick fix of caffeine and I usually ask for an extra cup of ice because I don’t feel my drinks are ever mixed to my liking. That’s not a big deal to do pour my drink into another for a better mix. My issue today was that new face I saw at the window passed me a cup of water and when i apologized and said it was just ice. He seemed bothered, turned around and poured the water out the cup into the sink. Then gave me the cup. There were little pieces of melted ice filling the cup a third of the way. I pulled out to park so I wouldn’t be in the way and spilled some of my drink. I got off and asked for more ice. This was not what I was expecting. I hope you guys can train this guy to not do that, I stayed quiet and moved, however the wrong person could come thru the line and not be the same.“
