“My favorite dish is shrimp egg Foo young in magic china cooks it better than anybody else. My second favorite favorite dish there is the sesame chicken but I like mine with pineapple. Price is $9.95, But if the price quote over the phone was given correctly and now it becomes a $16 dish which I find ludicrous. I wonder if Jackie the owner knows about this.“

The food was exceptionally fresh, the batter they use is wonderful and the coleslaw is about the best I’ve eaten in my 74 years. The food was hot and served quickly and the waitstaff is phenomenal. “Visited The Oyster Bar for lunch on 12/13. Started off with the herb butter broiled oysters, Little Bear oysters from the premium section (which I believe rotates) and their Bloody Gonzo for the drink. The herb oysts were good but lacked that flavor wow factor I hope for with dining out. The description for the Little Bears was spot on and they were terrific. Also a great oyst for those who do not care for the brininess. As for the Gonzo, not a fan of heavily decorated bloody marys but, that's my age talkin and I get the visual goal behind it. With that said, didn't mind this one at all after starting to drink and eat the decor. Was one of the best marys I've had; great flavor along with the flavor of the decor which also complimented the drink (and much better than McAdoo's mary monstrosity). Now, on to the Moonlight Bay oysts. As a Gulf Coast country kid many seasons ago, we had two terms for brininess; normal and extra. Probably why the description for these oysts threw me off. Was expecting more brine but the level (personal taste opinion en route) was absolutely perfect! Didn't overpower but complimented and allowed all the other flavors (including a light touch of sweetness) to come through for beautiful oyst wonder! So much in fact, I ordered quite a few more. Alas, my thumb is getting tired so I'm going to speed this along. Ordered 3 or 4 more different drinks. Each one was terrific. Ordered the hot seafood dip which has a great flavor wow factor. The young lady who served me was perfect; great personality, not pushy, we both had to ask each other to repeat ourselves and both didn't mind, allowed me to enjoy all of the ocean and liquor goodness. Pass along my apologies for forgetting her name. The Oyster Bar is so close to perfect. Could get there if they'd lower the music volume and add oysters Rockefeller to the menu. By some small miracle you decide to do so, don't make a fake Rockefeller like Mcadoo's. Include the dry white wine. Makes all the difference. Now, I'm going to ice my thumb.“

“My first visit was impressive. Mahi Mahi Boudreaux was on point. The crawfish cream sauce was very tasty. I was not pleased with spices in dirty rice. The boldness did not pair well with sauce. Lobster bisque nicely done with a mildly spicy kick. The ‘Post Master’ (Hurricane) was a bit tart to my liking. Beautiful decor with a history stretching back to 1915 when the building was the New Braunfels post office. McAdoo’s could be a monthly repeat soon. Stuffed flounder on my mind.“

“We loved the environment (cultural music, art and videos), the service and the food!! We ordered the combination fried rice of chicken and tofu with the spicy sauce on the side. Also ordered the Ban Chay, the vegetarian vermicelli soup in Thai broth. To drink we ordered two black boba teas, one mango and the other jasmine milk tea. “I routinely go here with 3 or more teacher friends for breakfast on Fridays at 6:30 a.m. The coffee is always hot and fresh as are the breakfast plates. The pork chop plate that comes with two homemade corn or flour tortillas, 2 eggs, and refried beans is magnificent as are the eggs rancheros plate, eggs divorciados plate, steak and eggs plate, and the other breakfast plates and assorted ample breakfast tacos. The service is great. The plates are a beautiful sight for the eyes to behold. I will post pictures next time. We always enjoy ourselves immensely. You must try it.“
