“We were famished after hunting and wanted to grab tacos otw home. I ordered them 15 min ahead of time and they were ready when we pulled into the sketchy drive through (steep and narrow). The food was good! I really liked both the asada and pastor. Beans were good. I think we could’ve gotten more sauce/salsa for the tacos we got but otherwise I’d stop again for sure.“

“It was busy because it was Father's Day and there was no Wi-fi in the building or parking lot. I wanted to place a to-go order and it took a tad bit long amd the young lady at the window said when we were ready to let someone know she walked off and we never saw her again. I was ready to leave and not return.So we asked for assistance and Juran S. was right there and took care of our order and took my number down in case we weren't in the building to get the order she would call. She was very nice and attentive I appreciate her for that. It's great workers like her that makes you want to return.“

“Choose to come here due to having a very large group and we didn’t want to wait during lunch hour. We were able to be seated with no wait time. In fact, it was like we had the whole restaurant pretty much to ourselves, minus two couples. To be exactly went Tuesday afternoon around 1:30pm. Food was in comparison to Pappadeaux‘s, still really tasty. We even had a few people who didn’t like seafood and still were able to find something on the menu. Our server was awesome. And handled it like a champ, and it was plenty of us. I would definitely go here during a date night. Our drinks could have been a bit stronger considering we ordered ranch water.“

“Don't judge a book by it's cover certainly holds true to La Playa! I was craving some fish and chips and Google led me here. Initially I was sceptical, but I'm glad made to decision to stay. The food was AMAZING and the service was very fast. The portions were huge with the fish having a thin, delicious batter. If you like malt vinegar, you better bring your own but the tarter was very fresh.
Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed!“

“Came in with a few friends for dinner and we were really impressed.
We were helped by a friendly crew who kept things running smoothly even though it was pretty busy. As soon as we walk in, Keon at the front counter was so helpful and friendly. His high energy and spirit, not only toward the customers, but to the other workers made our day
One of our orders was missing something and without our asking, Edison immediately noticed the issue and went out of his way delivering food to effectively assist us. And when there were bigger problems, the workers would always work together to solve them quickly with a good attitude, just really solid service with unmatched efficiency and quality. You could tell those workers enjoyed working together.
Definitely coming back soon. Solid food, decent prices, and a team that actually cares. I have nothing negative to say about this place 10/10!“

“Food was so good!! We ordered through favor and we are so impressed not trying to say we are good critics but we are super picky. This met and exceeded our expectations. Crab meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The only gumbo I’ve ever had better was at NOLA and it was 25$ for a bowl. Here it’s 5$ and out of this world!!! Would love to compliment owner in person.“

“I love the variety on the menu, traditional americanized Chinese dishes. The food is always piping hot. My favorite dish is the teriyaki chicken. You can spend anywhere from $30 to $60 bucks here and it's always worth it you'll have something left over I mess with feeding a good size group which is adequate. Very quick & polite.“

“We started going to this restaurant about 15 years ago when we lived in San Antonio. We were so busy with our own business that we ate there several times a week, the food was so good and very reasonably priced. We moved away about 10 or 11 years ago, and we continue to go back whenever we are in town. On this particular trip, we brought my brother and niece to show them what a great restaurant it is.“

“New restaurant in San Antonio. Real Northern Vietnam cuisine. The food was delicious. You should definitely try it. Nhà hàng Việt Nam mới mở với những món ăn mang hương vị phía Bắc rất ngon. Mình đã thử nem vuông, nem tôm, bún chả, kem xôi và đồ uống ở đây. Tất cả đều thực sự rất ngon. Nay quán có thêm nhiều món mới. Rất mong mọi người ủng hộ để quán phát triển và chúng ta có thêm địa điểm để thưởng thức món ăn ngon.“

“First time visiting this place and I freaking love it! The staff was great and very friendly and always made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our food. On top of that, they have a great selection of S. Korean alcohol like soju and many versions of that one. The food was well prepared and the ingredients fresh. We got to cook our meats on a center grill and it was fresh meat too.“

“The Barn Door is an Alamo Heights staple! Everyone that works there is extremely attentive and polite! They are the PROS when it comes to superb service and DELICIOUS steaks! They have an excellent bar selection and are known as a TOP restaurant for large get-togethers or FAMILY celebrations! Each dining room has a theme that speaks to VETERANS, ‘09er’s, and SAN ANTONIANS alike! I would say, that’s it’s just like winning the TRIPLE CROWN when it comes to Service, Food, & Atmosphere! I personally recommend the Chicken Fried Ribeye with a Loaded Baked Potato & Cheesecake for desert! P.S. the “Fool Proof” daiquiri will allow you to relax after a hard day at work!!“

“My favorite dish is shrimp egg Foo young in magic china cooks it better than anybody else. My second favorite favorite dish there is the sesame chicken but I like mine with pineapple. Price is $9.95, But if the price quote over the phone was given correctly and now it becomes a $16 dish which I find ludicrous. I wonder if Jackie the owner knows about this.“

“Our local support your small businesses lead us to this small homey place. The service is outstanding and the food is excellent. Try them you will not be disappointed. Definitely will be in our favorite places to stop by when we are in town.“
