“🍳 Sunday Brunch Review – J. Macklin’s (Coppell, TX) 🍳 My wife and I stopped in for Sunday brunch at J. Macklin’s and overall had a great experience! The atmosphere was lively but comfortable, perfect for a weekend meal. We did have an extended wait (they were out of biscuits 😅), but I have to give major credit to the management and wait staff. They handled it extremely well and even offered a discount for the inconvenience. Truly phenomenal service, they turned the situation around and made us feel taken care of. We tried the Bacon Board, which has a fun concept but could use a little more creativity. Just maple syrup on bacon didn’t quite hit the mark, but with a little flair this could easily be their signature appetizer. Now the entrées were exceptional. ✔️ My wife’s Southern Benny was flavorful and perfectly executed. ✔️ I had the grilled cheese with a hearty tomato soup and fries and let me just say, those fries were some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Bottom line: 🔹 Great vibe, 🔹 excellent main dishes, 🔹 and top-tier service. We’ll definitely be coming back!“

“We found this location by chance shortly after it rebranded and have been going back consistently ever since. The service is unmatched and authentic - everyone is so personable and kind. We’ve never had a less than stellar experience. We’ve celebrated birthdays, Valentine’s Day, brunches, and even just drinks - all exquisite. “We went for the first time last night on a whim and had one of the best dinners and service ever. We had reservations at 6:15, and arrived an hour earlier than planned. The hosts adjusted on the fly and sat us immediately (it was pre dinner rush and there were tables available). Our server Taylor was personable, knowledgeable (knew the menu front to back, including items that weren’t on the menu), and attentive. We started with a couple of their signature cocktails and the meatball appetizer, followed by the surf and turf and veal chops, and ended with the cheesecake and the peanut butter cup martini. Everything, let me repeat EVERYTHING, was amazing. Not once did we feel like we were being rushed by the staff to finish, empty plates and glasses were picked up promptly and discreetly by the busser. Even though it was our first time there, Taylor instantly made us feel like we were long time regulars and friends. The entire experience was top notch. Definitely will be added to our restaurant rotation.“

“We visited Verf's on 9/19/25 and Jose F was our waiter. The food was wonderful, and our waiter Jose did an excellent job checking on us but not becoming annoying by constantly asking if we needed anything. We sat near the bar which was a tad noisy, but the booth we were seated in was uncomfortable and better suited for larger people b/c the table is too far away from the seats. And our table had an uneven wood surface as we cut into our food. Lastly, the $2.50 discount for Police/Fire/Vets should be a little more ... say 15%. Otherwise, it was an outstanding dining experience.“

“I stopped in this place a few weeks ago. It wasn't too packed, and I hung out at the bar for a while, watching some guys play pool. The crowd seemed to leave about 10:30 and it was pretty empty at that point. The bartender that night was Jadis, who was amazing and very good about answering questions about the leagues and pool tournaments held there. I ordered the pork chop, which was the best meal I had on my short trip as well. If you're in the area, stop by for the pork chop, and ask for Jadis!“

“Buffalo Hirsch hosted a fantastic event for my husband's retirement this last weekend! We can't thank the staff enough for being so great throughout the planning and execution of this party. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and bent over backwards to ensure we had a successful event.

We loved the food trucks - there was something for everybody! The wine/spirits/beers and anything else you'd want was available and they managed it all. We loved the venue/party room that was well staffed, beautifully decorated, and spotless. I'd give it more stars than 5 but there's a limit in the selection for rating!!

From karaoke to poker (and other events mixed in), there’s something for everyone here. Daily drink specials to wet your whistle and one of the few places you can come in knowing nobody and end the night with at least a half dozen new friends. Patrons range from mid 20’s to 70’s and all are here to have a great time.“

“Our flight was canceled so we had to spend the night next-door to the Sheraton at the Comfort Inn suites so decided to come over here for a couple of drinks and appetizers. Beautiful restaurant with huge vaulted ceilings, uncomfortable seating.

We ordered the nachos with chicken Tinga and they were absolutely scrumptious! I think those are my second favorite nachos ever that I’ve eaten! Just a right amount of ingredients and all spread out on a nice big square dish. Very flavorful! Then he had a nice cold beer and I ordered a skinny margarita, but it was extremely weak so I had to order a side of tequila. Not cheap but it’s a hotel restaurant.“

They don't inform you of their auto-gratuity policy when checking in for your reservation, nor upon giving you the bill. I would have expected better service when you're predetermining your own tip. 3. We also were asked to vacate our table for the next reservation while we were still actively spending money on after dinner drinks. These are all simple fixes on their end and I hope they can communicate better in the future.“

I ordered the 10oz tenderloin medium with the loaded sweet potato, husband ordered the burger and fries and we shared a side of Mac and cheese. The steak was VERY good and cooked perfectly medium. The sweet potato was…okay but I’m not a big fan of them anyway. The Mac and cheese was so good. Big shells and creamy not watery. We also ordered dessert to go and that was great to have in the room. Staff was so nice and laid back but professional. All in all. A nice surprise!“

“I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. If I could offer one piece of feedback, it would be about how the food is served.

I’m very particular about hygiene, and I was disappointed to see my bowl brought to the table with the server’s thumb inside the rim of the bowl. I also noticed another server handling dishes the same way. While it may seem like a minor detail, it was a significant turnoff for me and took away from an otherwise great dining experience.

I hope this feedback is helpful, as I truly enjoyed everything else and would love to visit again.“
