“Owner truly cares about the safety & concerns of his community, patrons, staff and bands. Door guys are always welcoming & greet everyone with a great attitude but they also stand ten toes on business. Lots of great friends of mine in bands play here a lot and it’s always a blast & a place close to home to go & support. There’s a time and place for drama but not here. Check it at the door. Eat their food, tip your bartenders who serve up tirelessly and work hard, respect the space and platform you’re given if you are in a band and remember, if you’re the one booking bands from out of town to play here, let’s all represent accordingly and respectfully for this place and what they have to offer for people and everyone else on all spectrums of the scenes. Music lovers, foodies, stoners, drunks, sober people, everyone is welcome. Let’s continue to keep this space open and fun for EVERYONE. The staff and door guys are openly available if you have safety concerns or issues about any individuals in which they do in fact escalate to the owner if needed. I’ve always had fun here with my friends and went home still talking about how much fun we all had days later. Black Monk does their part exponentially in keeping it that way. Big ups to Zane, Ollie, Morgan, the kitchen and door guys.“

Moving back to CCTX has been fun as I get to check out all the new (to me) venues. This venue, BAR (stands for Bar Under the Sun) is located in downtown Corpus Christi and was fun to check out. It happened to be a Sunday Funday type of day - hung out on the outside cocktail garden area which is pet friendly while listening to a local musician who is a lead singer of a band here. This upbeat establishment use to be the Greyhound Bus Station back in the day. The decor was chic & classy and loved the offered yard games. The signature cocktails were divine. The bartenders were so impressive. Parking was easy breezy. The atmosphere was sexy & attractive. There is a great food (kitchen) option but was so hungry that I failed to capture photos of Achiote Grilled Chicken Sandwich & Pimento Cheese Firecrackers; maybe next time. I would definitely go back here for a future happy hour, etc.“

“It’s always a great time here!! 🫶 Where do I start? We are always pleased with the fresh food, the cold beer/drinks, the positive atmosphere and the amazing hospitality from ALL the staff. My family & I LOVE it here. When we went last time a few days ago, crystal, the manager took great care of us the moment we walked in & out of there along with her wonderful waitress Emily. Emily was such a sweetheart. Crystal too, she helped guide my hubby & I on new different wing flavors to try since we been stuck on the hot lemon pepper. He tried the peach mango and WOW! HE LOVED IT! Just wanted to hop on here and share some love & our thoughts about this cool spot. It’s family oriented too. Great place for after games to hangout. This is our second home for take out but when we have an off day it’s always fun here! 😊 Thank you Smokey Rooster & staff, keep it up! 💯“

“Honestly, I'm not exactly a beer connoisseur, and I've always passed by this place for years, but I finally stopped by on my birthday weekend and got to taste some of their crazy beer flavors. I mean, blueberry beer? That's a new one, but weirdly, I loved it! The vibe was awesome, with great tunes and friendly people. I'll definitely be back for more! 😃“

“What a great little place in Corpus Christi, TX!! Margo took greatcare of us from the moment we walked in! I had 2 Woodford Old Fashioned’s, and my wife Pellegrino Sparkling water. We had 2 appetizers: Meatball Gorgonzola, and the cheese Fondu! We will be back! Great Ambience and good Bourbon selection!“

“My husband and I stayed at the hotel from last Wednesday until yesterday. We discovered the lounge area Wednesday afternoon and were immediately hooked. But, not by the gorgeous views, the drinks or the puzzles.....We were blown away by Aly! She is a gem with a fantastic attitude, great information about the town and just a very genuine person! Y'all are very fortunate to have her representing your business. She was off for the weekend and wow, what a change in the vibe! Thank you, Aly, for making our stay a very memorable one! “Yesterday I was feeling a bit down and a friend recommended that I go to my comfort bar and watch the game. Well after watching a video on Tik Tok of a girl in Iran expressing her pain of what's happening their I made a duet video of it to share her message. I look up after and it seemed I offended a older Hispanic guy seating two seats away from me. A man who was looking for another man it seems. Anyway, the bar back comes to me along with the bartender and asked me to leave. I was so in shock that I had to make a video of what was happening. SHAME ON YOU MS. ELLY'S“

“Came to Keg Room on a suggestion, and it was nice. I like it's kinda hidden, and looks like it has its regulars. It appears to be the place you wanna take someone if yall want a place to have drinks and talk. The music wasn't loud and it has a "cozy" feel to it. Me, being a Halloween 🎃 Fanatic, I loved the dark Halloween feel. If this is the vibe here, then I'm totally coming back.“
“Good place to have a nice time with your colleagues. Nothing too fancy, just the right atmosphere. Sometimes they have special events going on for sports and other types of events. Not sure what days they are open, I’m assuming the follow typical government hours.Prices are decent and quality as well. You sure will have a good time and be pleased with the quality and customer service. Will definitely recommend, specially if you’re on post, it’s just across from the hotel on base and walkable distance from anywhere inside of post.Overall liked it!“

“New favorite spot! Wish more local(rock/punk/dj sets) bands played here because im not a big fan of karaoke but other than that I love how spacious it is, they serve good food all night abd theres plenty of activities to do while you hang out. Pool/ darts / jukebox . Drinks are prepared 👌highly recommend“
