From the spicy cucumber cocktail, plantains with chhimichurri, sour dough bread, empanadas appetizer, grilled snapper entre and bread pudding / cuatro leches dessert, each course could not be beat! “Sally was excellent on a very packed environment on the evening of 9/13/25. We were celebrating our 40th anniversary. We had wine from the bar while waiting. We ordered delicious Brussels sprouts as an appetizer. I had the tile fish on the special menu and my husband had fried shrimp. Both entrees were very good and served hot! Sally assisted us with leftover boxes. She has great people skills and her smile is so warm!“

“A few dozen oysters were had tonight—all fabulous. But my faves were something I’ve never had before: The BBQ oysters with house-made blue cheese dressing. Just delicious. I couldn’t decide which type of mussels—fra diablo or the pesto chardonnay—so I ordered them both. I was not disappointed. Ask for the garlic bread. OMG. Chef Megan and Brenna took great care of us. It was nice to see David too! 10 out of 10 for food, service, and company.“

I had the huevos rancheros and husband had Migas Mexicans, our standard by which we measure TexMex. The ranchero sauce was different and delicious, a bright orange color, thick and creamy and not outrageously spicy. A huge platter for $10! Refried beans were spectacular, great flavor. Homemade tortillas! Eggs a la Mexicana very spicy. Cooked to order and served piping hot. No pix because we were hungry! We’ll be back to try the enchilada breakfast.“

As soon as we walked in we were greeted very friendly and with a nice smile. Maria our server was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was just fabulous, it had a very Mexican home made flavor cooked meal. This was our first time walking into the restaurant but it definitely won't be the last, this place it a must have if you're in the Galveston area. We highly recommend eating here if you're looking for an authentic Mexican meal.“

“Okay, so I was really tempted to gatekeep this little find, but it wouldn't be fair to y'all or the hardworking Sky Bar staff! Seriously, some of the best sushi and cocktails we have had - and we eat out A LOT! The Happy Hour is wonderful because it's a late HH from 5-10. I am a crab ragoon connoisseur, and they have, bar none, THE BEST! Our server, Seth, was spot on. He said he had only been there a few weeks, but you wouldn't know based on his high service level. Seth was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and attentive. The manager, Robert, made several stops by our table and the other guests to check on everything. He jumped in and helped servers as needed. We are in Galveston every month or so, and will definitely be will definitely be adding Sky Bar to our restaurant stops. Looking for a later Happy Hour, fabulous food and terrific service? “My mom took me to lunch here today. it wasn't great at all. For a starter, the cheese sticks were so MASSIVE that the cheese didn't melt before the crust browned. I ordered chicken fried steak and garlic mashed potatoes with cream gravy. The cream gravy was like water and had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The garlic mashed potatoes were awful and gummy, artificial to say the least. My mother ordered fried shrimp and mashed potatoes. The fried shrimp came out with the "crust" white and semi-fried. Very strange. Also, these meals only came with one side, no vegetable option without it being an add on. These meals were $18.99 and $20.99 each! We were very underwhelmed for the price of these entrees. They DO NOT offer a lunch menu either. We will not be back.“

My husband and I celebrated our 32 anniversary in Galveston and once we found this place we had to keep going back. You definitely get what you pay for here.
