“We stopped in at Fisherman's Wharf in Galveston after a long day in Clearlake. It felt so relaxing to sit outside on the deck under an umbrella with a plateful of great food and such a nice team of staff members and fellow diners. The construction nearby included some obvious jackhammers, but honestly it didn't bother us at all. The meal was so good and the atmosphere was so lovely that no amount of construction noise could impact our good day. Thank you to all involved!“

“A few dozen oysters were had tonight—all fabulous. But my faves were something I’ve never had before: The BBQ oysters with house-made blue cheese dressing. Just delicious. I couldn’t decide which type of mussels—fra diablo or the pesto chardonnay—so I ordered them both. I was not disappointed. Ask for the garlic bread. OMG. Chef Megan and Brenna took great care of us. It was nice to see David too! 10 out of 10 for food, service, and company.“

As soon as we walked in we were greeted very friendly and with a nice smile. Maria our server was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was just fabulous, it had a very Mexican home made flavor cooked meal. This was our first time walking into the restaurant but it definitely won't be the last, this place it a must have if you're in the Galveston area. We highly recommend eating here if you're looking for an authentic Mexican meal.“

“Okay, so I was really tempted to gatekeep this little find, but it wouldn't be fair to y'all or the hardworking Sky Bar staff! Seriously, some of the best sushi and cocktails we have had - and we eat out A LOT! The Happy Hour is wonderful because it's a late HH from 5-10. I am a crab ragoon connoisseur, and they have, bar none, THE BEST! Our server, Seth, was spot on. He said he had only been there a few weeks, but you wouldn't know based on his high service level. Seth was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and attentive. The manager, Robert, made several stops by our table and the other guests to check on everything. He jumped in and helped servers as needed. We are in Galveston every month or so, and will definitely be will definitely be adding Sky Bar to our restaurant stops. Looking for a later Happy Hour, fabulous food and terrific service? “I’ve had both breakfast and lunch here. The food is so fresh and hot when it comes to the table. Barbacoa is delicious. The fried papas that are served with your breakfast are mouth watering. The tortillas are amazing. Servers and staff are top notch!“

“My mom took me to lunch here today. it wasn't great at all. For a starter, the cheese sticks were so MASSIVE that the cheese didn't melt before the crust browned. I ordered chicken fried steak and garlic mashed potatoes with cream gravy. The cream gravy was like water and had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The garlic mashed potatoes were awful and gummy, artificial to say the least. My mother ordered fried shrimp and mashed potatoes. The fried shrimp came out with the "crust" white and semi-fried. Very strange. Also, these meals only came with one side, no vegetable option without it being an add on. These meals were $18.99 and $20.99 each! We were very underwhelmed for the price of these entrees. They DO NOT offer a lunch menu either. We will not be back.“

“First time we’ve checked this place out! If you blink you’ll miss it. Small hole in the wall atmosphere. I had the huevos rancheros and husband had Migas Mexicans, our standard by which we measure TexMex. The ranchero sauce was different and delicious, a bright orange color, thick and creamy and not outrageously spicy. A huge platter for $10! Refried beans were spectacular, great flavor. Homemade tortillas! Eggs a la Mexicana very spicy. Cooked to order and served piping hot. No pix because we were hungry! We’ll be back to try the enchilada breakfast.“

Not a hidden gem, but not a bad stop if you’re nearby and craving a decent bite.“
