“You want Cuban food? Well this place is legit. The Cuban or the Ropa Vejia, sandwich tastes awesome. Couple that with a Pappa Rellena and you will go away delightfully full. The Fritta Cubana (Cuban Hamburger) is my favorite at the moment. And don't forget to try a Pastelito with a Cuban coffee for dessert. “Stopped in today with my hubby. It was wonderful! Great ambience with cool wooden floors that the owner installed himself. Who, by the way, is a super nice gentleman. We had a blueberry scone and hot fresh croissant from the oven and they both were excellent! Baked with European butter as described by the owner/baker! We washed them down with a hot mocha and cappuccino that were chef’s kiss perfect! If you haven’t been, just go. You’ll be glad you did!“

Our server was rude, and didn’t seem like she wanted to wait on our table, she was dismissive, never checked on us, and randomly slammed the check when we weren’t even half way through our meal. Jayda was friendly to all her other tables except ours.“

“My cousin and I visited the Cafe this morning for breakfast. Our waiter - Phillip - was amazing! However, the food this time was a little disappointing. My cousin ate her grits and I had the Frech Toast. We also had bacon and potatoes. The bacon was not cooked the way we wanted. A new order was made, but still not satisfactory. And it was very salty. So we did not eat the bacon. Normally the food is outstanding but today's visit was a little off.“

“This little joint has been an East Dallas treasure for some time. When you think of mom's home made breakfast. Best describes Gold Rush, from the fluffiest pancakes which IMHO is their clame to fame. I might order a tradional fried egg and bacon breakfast, but bet your bottom dollar it's coming with a short stack of pancakes. As you imagine the tastiest ham slice. remember that they do lunch. fall apart pot roast, hamburgers will not disappoint, chicken fried steak, why not have an omelet for brunch, they'll do it just right. It's not a big place in any way. You get there and you see an empty table go ahead and seat yourself. if there's a short line. you might have to stand between 5 and 8 minutes but everyone in line is cordial. when guests leave their table, grab it, even if it hasn't been cleared off very shortly someone will come by a cleaned your table. while you wait hopefully a member of staff already given you a menu. Be ready when someone takes your order. and the place can be hopping. Give it a shot, I'm sure you will find your visit enjoyable and the food done right.“

“First timer and I will be back!!! Coffee is absolutely delicious. We purchased some chocolate chips cookies (they were warm and so good!), the gelato is so fresh!! We tried hazelnut, chocolate and strawberry. I can’t decide which was my favorite but they were all absolutely delicious! My husband had a blueberry muffin, super soft and as he said “yummy tasting!” What a gem we found. The people are super friendly. We will be back! It’s quite spacious inside as well.“

“The food was excellent ! The service is the best ! The same host and waitress have been there a while . They make you feel comfortable and relaxed . I had the Shrimp and Crab Louis salad ! It's a little pricey at $42.09 but it's pretty seasoned and very fresh . It truly has the New Orleans vinaigrette that lightly coated the lettuce and seafood . Of course their chicken broth is delicious and my other favorite is the popover with strawberry butter that comes with every meal ! And please taste your food before you season even if you think it looks plain .... It's why you pay these prices for perfectly turned out food ! And try going for their afternoon tea !“

“Simply Amazing!! I was craving breakfast but the time was 11:30 exactly and I did not know the breakfast hours here as this was my first visit. I asked the sweet lady who greeted me when I came in if I could still get breakfast and she told me yes. I ordered 2 eggs over eazy, 2 strips of bacon, 1 bisquit w/gravy and hasbrowns for take out. Just a simple breakfast. I got back to my office and started to eat and was amazed at how great this simple breakfast tasted. This is my new go to Cafe. Great Food. Great Friendly Service and an Amazing View as well. Give this little spot a try, you'll be glad that you did.“

“Everyday we got a chance to eat here it was a great experience. Top to bottom from the head chef to staff they were engaging & explained all the daily food options. Not to mention to food was excellent. Unfortunately we didn't get to try it longer as my father passed away on hospice. “Solid coffee and a great selection of food options in the take out area of Central Market. The space is well-equipped with plenty of outlets, and most CM workers are friendly and go above and beyond. It's a great spot to focus and get work done.

One area for improvement: some café staff can come across as overly corrective during ordering, which may discourage trying new items. A bit more patience and guidance would go a long way.“

“Went in for breakfast 05/01/26, wasn’t disappointed. Brilliant service, coffee lovely and hot not lukewarm like most places. Breakfast came there was plenty of everything, the only thing I would say was it would have been more enjoyable on hot plates as the food goes cold quickly, but other that everything was great. “I didn't know about this place the Hubcap Cafe until I saw them on ch 11 news one morning couple months ago . Located just inside the 24 hour club no servers just walk in up to window place your order and they call your order out when it ready .So I found them and have eaten there several times now Ihad to try out the huge pancakes they said we're about the size of a hubcap off a car. I order the hubcap pancake and a large breakfast platter and coffee. I was definitely surprised when the chef called my order and I saw the size of the pancake. It's no lie it's bigger than the plate and knife and fork . It took me almost and hour to finish it and the breakfast platter which comes with 2 of everything eggs ,sausage patties,bacon ,hash brown and toast . Cooked perfect and the coffee was good and just strong enough. I was soo full from breakfast I couldn't eat anything else the rest of the day. Everyone that was there each time I've gone to eat were friendly the food comes fast and is hot off the griddle .
I was surprised again at the very low cost for all the good food I got for breakfast very very affordable. I've only been for breakfast but my last visit this past Sunday I ordered their bacon jalapeno cheese burger and fries to go mmmmm mmmm I tell ya it was a big tasty burger and fries. I plan on keep going back until I've tried everything on the menu at least twice.The little cafe is clean everyone picks up after themselves when done eating , parking is around back not a big parking lot but I've haven't had a problem getting a parking space and it's wheel chair accessible.
My first visit I even bought me a new very soft warm hoodie cheap ready now for winter. I give the Hubcap Cafe 👍👍👍👍👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“

“Excellent. Stopped by bc the parking lot was full. Could tell people here must like the place. \nHusband ordered the catfish dinner. Absolutely delicious. Crispy fillets cut into strips. Homemade ranch dressing was light and not oily! \nI had the club sandwich. Everything was cut thick, ham, turkey and fried bacon. Everything was fresh! \nThey have Mexican food on the menu as well and served chips and salsa when you arrive. \nThe ice tea was fresh and offered sweet tea and wasn’t icky sweet 👏🏻🙌🏻. Enough food for a “to-go box”. No room for dessert but I’m sure they are delicious too. Friendly and attentive waitresses. \nWe will be back if every in this area.“
