“I ordered the chicken fried steak, and as someone who really loves CFS, I was disappointed. While the portion size was generous, the steak itself seemed to have been fried against the bottom of the pan, or set for a period of time on parchment to seal a thick, flat sheet of crust that was greasy rather than crispy. I had to add a lot of pepper just to get some flavor. The mashed potatoes were also bland. I will not be ordering anything that is fried on their menu. On the positive side, the wedge salad was amazing, and the bread pudding reminded me of New Orleans — absolutely delicious. The bread service was inconsistent: the first round was dry and stale, but the second round was hot and fresh, which made me feel like the initial serving had simply been sitting out. If it hadn’t been for the salad and dessert, I would have spoken up about the meal. I was also disappointed to see cardboard boxes stacked in a way that hid the distillery from my view. That said, the service was truly amazing, and the staff were the highlight of the experience.“

“Thanks to the Double Nickel wait staff, manager, owner and chef, we had a wonderful celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect and memorable. Private room was perfect for friends and relatives. Double Nickel is the best upscale restaurant in Lubbock.“

“We have been here many times. In fact it is one of our favorite places. But this one visit was terrible in every way. Menu items not available, wrong items served, two different dishes that were not even warm, and a manager in duty that did not care at all about our experience. I know I will go back sometime, but that last visit was horrible.“

Service sucked .they didn't have accommodations for 8 people.food not cooked x properly.was given wrong drinks .staff left us standing in area we finally pulled two table together for our group..then staff said we couldn't do that...we finished our meal and left.we won't be back. over priced food as well.“

“My significant other and I tried Steak Express tonight for the first time via Pick Up. I put in an order through the app, and was ready on time, and pick up was easy! The staff was very friendly! Food was very hot and fresh even after the drive back to Wolfforth! Steaks were both cooked as requested, and the flavor was amazing! Tender with a bit of chew. Baked potatoes were very soft, and just right. We also tried the grilled onions and got a lot, there was enough for both our steaks as well as putting on our potatoes. This experience was so good I even called and told the lady on the phone that we appreciate their service, and the food was amazing. I know it's not much but I figured getting a call about how good our experience was, is better than hearing complaints or anything. Definitely will be back again in the future!“

“It was my Birthday and I had a good time, the food was delicious, I hadn't had a ribeye steak since my Dr. told me to cut back on red meat, but it was truly worth it, the ribeye I ordered was cooked to perfection, the mashed potatoes tasted homemade like Grandma made them and the broccoli was cooked just right.
