Not too much. Just right. So happy with the food here. Well worth you time. Definitely not your average Asian fare.“

I recently switched to their online ordering system and it’s been a great time saver. I order in advance and pick up when it’s ready. Great place for some quick Chinese food fix.“

we ordered two different bases and got the non spicy and regular mixed, but the non spicy (tomato) honestly really overpowered the other flavors and it just tasted like the whole broth was the non spicy, i didnt taste any of the sauerkraut in it and that was disappointing

“We came here just shy of closing time around 8:30 pm but the host kindly seated us. Even though they were in a rush for the last call, we ordered quite a few dishes and they came out in record time.

We got the veg and shrimp steamed dumplings. Both expertly made although my only comment would be that the filling was slightly under seasoned.

The stir fried green beans were perfection. Lightly crunchy, savoury and slightly sweet. Similarly we had the silky scallion oil noodles that was smooth, nutty and perfectly savoury.

Finally, we got the deep fried bao with condensed milk. Like a perfectly fluffy yeasty doughnut - it was quite heavy as a dessert but would have been a great take home snack!

“We (wife and I) were at Marble Dental two doors down yesetrday and decided to check out Rice Garden for the first time. Staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. My wife and I had the combo with meat and chicken (opted out of the shrimp) and with jalapenos in the brown rice. Very delicious.

The meal was more than ample for us to split. We also got two small bowls of the hot and sour soup ($2.99 each) and I must say it was the best hot and sour soup I have ever tasted/eaten. Very hearty and tasty. I'm thinking about it right now. Would be nice to have a bucket of it in the refrigerator at home to get through the cold winter days and nights. :-) Definitely will be back to Rice Garden.“

“My husband and I love this place. It’s not fancy, no. There’s one guy doing everything. I have no idea how he does it, and does it so well. Food is done so quickly, tastes fresh, and the portion sizes are wild. I get veggie lo mein every time and it’s enough for like four meals. He literally fills the entire container to bursting. Super nice and efficient guy, definitely working too dang hard!! But we’ll never go anywhere else.“

“This is by far the best affordable Chinese restaurant I know of in the Dallas area. Generous portions with generally excellent quality; it is the portion/quality/price point that really stands out here. Although the menu is reasonably extensive, the seasonings are generally fairly similar (and again I will say reliable). I will also reinforce what some of the other reviews noted (i) the fried rice is a real winner if you like fried rice and (ii) some of the dishes tend to have too much sauce in them. Final note: the food is not heavily seasoned like Hunan/Sichuan can be but more like Cantonese/Taiwanese in general (even the dishes with cayenne pepper in them).“

“My family and I have frequented this restaurant for over 15 years. We usually eat at the NorthPark location, but decided to take a chance on the Allen location for my Mom’s birthday this year. We had a large party, for which we reserved a week in advance. The food was great our server was attentive, and did a remarkable job!
The only problem with the night was when John the manager came to our table and began to take plates out of the way, at first we thought “great out of the way” then he came back again and in a rude way said “you folks need to wrap it up because we have other parties to sit”. I understand that there are more parties, but the way you approach people matters, and at the end of the night I am a paying customer, trying to enjoy a special night. Don’t rush me out.
We had arrived at 5:30pm and waited for the whole party to show. Food was served by 6:30 and by 7ish he was telling us to “wrap it up”.
My family was very disappointed with the treatment he gave us. I expressed some frustration when exiting and fortunately Kenny a manager approached me and asked what was wrong. I explained the situation to him and he made an attempt at getting John to explain himself and apologize for how he came off, but no. Kenny apologized for John since he wasn’t a big enough person to do it himself.
Anyways, this place did a great job with promoting Kenny because people like John will ruin 15 years of great experiences in a heartbeat.
Thank you Kenny for being attentive and caring. Hoping to continue to make more great memories alongside my family at this place in the future, and hoping Kenny is there or moves on up the ladder! Can’t say much for John though.“

“Cozy and delicious Taiwanese-style cafe with lots of options to choose from. Self-serve style. You walk in and the available dishes are on display so you pick the dishes you want and then seat yourself. It comes with white rice and free house soup as well. I always stop by when I’m in the area. Highly recommend!“

I was a little surprised by the batter on the crispy chicken, it reminded me more of a sweet and sour tempura style rather than the usual coating. but it was still delicious! The only small drawback was the portion size of the fried rice that came with it, which was pretty small. Other than that, everything was very tasty!“

I use DoorDash and haven’t been to the establishment so I can’t comment on that. If DoorDash gets any more expensive I will drive there to get a to go order and head home. If you want to complain, order a pizza from the Richardson Pappa Johns. Try that and let me know how you feel. Also, I recommend the upgrade for the fried rice on each meal.“

“The food is good and the prices are ok. I have been coming to this location for years. The last two times they did not have the dishes I ordered. I asked for snow pea chicken and was told no snow peas. I asked for pork with garlic and they gave me broccoli stems instead of bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. Very disappointed. My wife and sons dishes were good and the soup is good too. This is a good place to eat if they have the ingredients.“

I was wanting to order other items in the menu, they grabbed the menu after serving food, did not have a chance to think about what to order next. No one stopped by after serving food to see if I need anything else. Steamed rice does not come with the entree and I had to pay $1 for the rice and the portion size was ridiculous especially when you pay money. They were very stingy, they keep just one paper napkin per person. The restroom did not smell good. The place was bit decent. They need to take care of the odor. The waiters were busy unstringing beans rather than paying attention to the customers. The menu should have more descriptions like ingredients and pictures of the items. Honestly the food is good, I wanted to order more items but disappointed that no one came after serving food. They assume that I am going to eat just one item.“

“I had an amazing experience here. The food was absolutely incredible and cooked to perfection. The combination chow mein was packed with flavor and had the perfect balance of noodles, vegetables, and protein. Every bite tasted fresh and well prepared.
But the real star of the meal was the orange chicken. It is by far the best orange chicken in Garland. The bold sauce mixed with actual orange peel gives it a rich flavor that not only looks amazing but tastes even better. You can tell a lot of care goes into the way it’s prepared.

I like the tripe. I like the tongue. Almost everything they've got is top shelf and well made and actually has some Szechuan seasoning which is what I'm looking for. Don't miss the dumplings either.
