“What an adorable place with the most delicious, authentic German food we’ve ever had in the US. I had a lovely dry Riesling wine, pork weiner schnitzel with German potato salad & sauerkraut. It was a large portion & absolutely amazing. Hubby had veal weiner schnitzel & red cabbage. The veal was so tender. We loved it all & will definitely return next time we’re in New Braunfels. Make a reservation ahead of time. It’s cozy & quite popular. We didn’t have a reservation & it took about an hour to get a table, but it was really worth it!“

I look at it this way..... if you are a frequent client, the business is thriving due to you visiting so often and those tips add up daily. “We had lunch today on the porch! LED off with Fried Oyster appetizer! Spicy Crunchy Trout with Broccoli and roasted potatoes and a really nice side salad. My wife had the Three Seafood Salad with Salmon and Shrimp. I know there was another seafood item but she can’t remember. But the waitress was so professional and in these days…she was so good! I wish we’d gotten the Fried Brie appetizer! A little hard to Locate back in behind the other shops but they were also fun! Very good bread as well!!!!“

“This was a great little stop on our day out in New Braunfels.

We were able to taste everything on tap, plus the bartender gave us samples of their beers that were in bottles.

I enjoyed all the beers, especially the pickle sour and the Belgian Tripel.

“Water 2 Wine is my unofficial office, therapy lounge, social club, and sometimes a wine-fueled escape from the chaos of adulting. I’ve been going here for years, and if it ever closes, I will consider laying on the doorstep and crying.

The owners, Tre & Angel are the sweetest (sometimes sassy *cough cough* Tre *cough cough*) owners ever. They're extremely knowledgeable about wine and make this picky girls heart and tastebuds happy.

They have an incredible staff with Johnny (who's won best bartender in NB for like a lot of years, don't ask me how many, I can't keep up, might be convinced he's bribing the town with sass and charcuterie boards), Ameilee (the queen of arts and crafts and the designer behind their door of events each month), and Lexi (who makes it a point to remember anyone and everyone by name and their wine of choice; seriously the second time I ever met her she greeted me like besties and I live for that energy).

The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming which makes it a great spot for a girls outing, date night, or remote work that’s mostly just answering one email and then reward-sipping for your efforts. It will forever be this wino's fav spot to sip, yap, and pop a squat.

11/10 would recommend. No notes. Just go.“

“Came here on a dime! Was in the area didn’t want the loud bar type place for a bite. My bf and I walked in with a warm welcome. We ordered and sat down the charming place was nice and quiet. I love the ice cream parlor vibe with vintage setting with the diner seats and stadium seats. Had my heart with the little table and chairs for the littles. We were pleasantly surprised! The FOOD yum!! we definitely agreed we would be back and added to the list.“

The staff was very nice and the musical entertainment was great! I even met a handsome cowboy after a wedding who made sure I got to my uber safely. Sure wish I knew who he was.“

“Worst hamburger I think I’ve EVER eaten. We paid $42 for 2 bacon cheese burgers and a order of fries. Our hamburger were cooked to hockey pucks and had no flavor. Do NOT eat here if you’re in New Braunsfel! If you’re just looking for some drinks and music, this place has a descent atmosphere but otherwise stay away. It’s very pricey!“

I routinely see Adam being a first line leader by taking orders outside, or making drinks. “Pop’s BBQ was sooo good! We tried it for the first time today (9/1/24) and really were blown away. We had the brisket, ribs, and banana pudding. You can absolutely tell the amount of care that is put into prepping and cooking the food. We will be making this a tradition to come back each month, for sure.“

I was a little worried at first because there were a lof of bikers there, and well, you've seen those movies, but the lady at the bar immediately put me at ease. She was so friendly and welcoming! This isn’t a “speakeasy” even in the modern sense. There’s no password or fun secrecy, the music is like 2000s R&B, and the small place gets super crowded.“

“Nice spot in Gruene Lake Village with vegan options. We visited on the Second Saturday open so there was only a few people trickling in. The smoothies, sandwiches, and wrap we ordered were good. My wife enjoyed the mushroom soup but was disappointed with the pasta salad. We will visit again; also good to know now that they have a 15% discount for educators!“

“My fiancé and I recently visited the Winery on the Gruene and absolutely loved it! It is a really nice spot in the heart of Gruene and its great location makes it easy for relaxing with a glass of wine after walking around town. The staff is friendly and helpful with tastings, and the flights are a good deal with both classic and fun fruit flavors. I ended up getting a bottle of their Watermelon White Merlot after trying it, and it was surprisingly refreshing and easy to drink. The patio is the best place to sit in my opinion but maybe not in the Texas heat, just depends on the time you go. The only downside is it can get busy, so service slows a bit, and the inside feels a little tight on hot days. Nonetheless it was a great spot and we’ll be back.“

“The food was amazing. We ordered takeout while visiting from our of town. They ran thirty minutes late picking up our order, but the food was good. The mongolian beef, while tasty, was not authentic. They were very pleasant and the place was clean.“
