“Tried this place today 1/10/23 and loved it! We got appetizers, and there was this one small side that had ceviche. It was so good that it made me order the ceviche tostadas. It's 3 ceviche tostadas with 3 different flavors. It hit the spot! It was a 9/10. Would have given it a 10, but it was a tad salty. The 3 tostadas we're $20, which is a bit high, but worth it. They were loaded, and I was hungry, and it filled me up super good. I am definitely going back to El.Tio Jerry's in the near future.“
“Alfredo not only knows the extensive menu like the back of his palm but knows exactly what to recommend . Tailored to you, he makes you feel confident in your choice . He has all the amazing traits that a server should have . Amazing experience , definitely recommend Alfredo for your next visit to Mr.Crabby’s!!!!“
“This is the first time I went to Mambo and the food didn't disappoint. I had the number 7 grilled octopus in mambo sauce with shrimp fried rice and the empanada appetizer. Our server Adri gave us excellent service. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us recommendations like the grilled octopus with mambo sauce. She even helped us take a family photo and went above and beyond. I would definitely come back here. I really recommend the food I mentioned.“
“I have to admit I was very skeptical when I first got there. The decor looks like your grandmother's attic exploded.. lolVery random and quirky antiques. Feels like you are stepping into a random roadside mom and pop dinner. All that being said I had already made up my mind that I wasn't going to like it.That was until I took my first bite of their fried catfish. WOW what an impressive job of frying with great flavor and still maintaining a flaky texture. The shrimp was no less impressive!!The sides were mediocre but the fish and shrimp stole the show. I will definitely be back and recommend to friends.“
“Excellent service from Miss Carolina, the quality of her work is amazing, super friendly, the way she greets you when you enter the restaurant is very nice. I recommend the Tlalpeño shrimp broth and we loved it. We will definitely return and order it. Thank you for the service.“
“Love love the atmosphere, and how attentive the waiter was with us especially with my mom since she was the Birthday gal….they recommended the best dishes on the house absolutely everything was super delicious….price for everything was decent…Ruben was our waiter and his “
“I am not a winter Texan and loved the ambiance. The pancakes are soft, moist, and delicious. The huevos rancheros were good but the beans could use a bit of more of flavor and mashing. Will definitely return. The service was a bit scatter brained but they were hustling and checking up on you.“
“I had dinner here with a large group of veterans, which can quickly become hectic. All the entrees ordered were great and had plenty of flavor. My steak was perfectly cooked and the flavor was outstanding. I didn't get the servers' names but they were awesome and kept checking on us. To end the night we had an assortment of desserts. My favorite was the carrot cake, but others raved about the cheesecake and chocolate cake. I will definitely be back.“
“Sweetie, Midtown Ceviche took me straight to the streets of Spanish America! ??The lobster roll was like a symphony of flavors, and that Maracuya drink? Pure sunshine in a glass! They've got that homemade touch that makes every bite feel like a taste of home. A must-visit spot, no doubt!?“
“I give 3 stars to the food as the risotto was not a risotto (creamy consistency), it was just a rice with almonds, dry, not creamy, which would have add some “sauce” to the fish. If it wasn’t for the lemon to squeeze, the meal would have been too dry. Otherwise, the flavor was excellent, just the risotto needs to be “
“We always stop here when in the Pharr/McAllen area. They make the best Don Julio Reposado Margarita in the country, even better than the original location in Laredo. The service, the food (especially the charro beans), and the atmosphere are top-notch.“
“Good fish and shrimp, and a good burger, the steamed fish I believe could have used some more flavor, but I do understand they might do this so you could add the level of flavor yourself so as not to be to strong in which case the only option is to return it.“
“My wife and I recently dined at Hacienda Las Mariposas, and our first impression was good. The venue itself has an elegant vibe to it, reminiscent of an old-fashioned, swanky Spanish homestead -- a place one does not go to parade their disdain for proper etiquette by wearing torn jeans or failing to remove their hat indoors. Suffice it to say, we had equally high expectations of the food and service. They did not disappoint. We ordered the mixed botana for two, and it was easily one of the best we have had in the RGV. The presentation was excellent, the fajita was tender and juicy, and the trimmings were packed with flavor. Our side dish of choriqueso was tasty as well, and the complimentary cheesecake (we were celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary) was the best we had in years. The whole table was a feast for the eyes, to say nothing of the palate, and the portions were such that we had plenty of leftovers at the end. Our waiter, I should note, was very attentive from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, offering us something like the royal treatment - as my wife put it - and in so doing earned our manifest appreciation (read generous tip.) Granted, it was not the busiest time of day, but for that reason alone the best time for dining there. All in all, we enjoyed the restaurant. We found it to be a perfect choice for the occasion, and I can see it becoming one of our favorite haunts. We might even dine on the patio next time, the views from which are nice enough to fill the pages of a scenic wall calendar. Give the place a try. We highly recommend it.“
“I was in heaven... the food was ecstasy to my mouth... way better than Ambra... and you actually don't have to share a bathroom with the opposite sex... that's just gross... no offense to the opposite sex... but the bathroom at LA Costa could use some renovation and a bit more polishing to match the rest of the high quality... brutally honest review.. sorry not sorry.. support local..“
“I love this small restaurant. The General Tso's is my favorite from all the places I have tried. The taste never disappoints me. The Teriyaki is good as well. The price has gone up, but they serve you a good portion and the staff is friendly. I always have leftovers.“
“Got this place as a recommendation from a friend in college, I was amazed at how good the food is here! I go once a week for the #2 combo of ceviche tostadas because they're that good. The ladies are always nice and provide my family and I great service when we dine in, and the price is fair given that mariscos are always expensive. If you are thinking about mexican seafood, this is 100% the place.“
“I have experienced the best restaurant atmosphere among with impressive Customer Relations, as well as the Best Mexican "Taste" on the menu items, it was just magnificent, I had great moments for the last three times that I have eaten in this place! The owner and his staff, including Toño have delivered a world class quality food and service. The correct temperature, with an excellent dish presentations will set up this place apart from others. The selection on the Bar and music was also above and beyond expectations. The indoor and outdoor are awesome atmospheres, filled with scheduled events that will make an unforgettable memories, Cesar, Steven and the entire team will assure "top-notch" moments to the utmost.I honestly recommend this place for whomever would like to delight with the best home style food and ambient. For the record, this message is not a paid advertisement, I just wanted to share my experience with everyone that would like some good moments and food!!Thank you to all the employees, great cook team and owners.“
“This place is the best place for seafood in the Valley. The seafood is fresh and the portions are a good size for the price. They have specials at lunch time and their consommé is full of pieces of fish and shrimp. Of course, be careful with the habanero sauce, it does sting. The service has always been excellent and if you're lucky there's even mariachi on the weekends. So if you like seafood, come and enjoy a shrimp cocktail or some fish fillets. You will not regret it. And don't forget to try their cucumber lemonade!Postscript: Last Sunday my parents went to enjoy some lunch specials. My mom, as always, didn't finish the 3 steaks that came with the order because she filled up on the broth. He asked for a little box to take them with him but he forgot to take it and left it on the table. On their way home they realized it and returned to the restaurant. My dad went down to ask about the box and the waitress informed him that she had just thrown it in the trash. We understand that they can't store food for hours, but they came back as soon as they realized it on the way home (we don't live far from there either). He only included it as a suggestion that please wait a little while before throwing away a takeout container in case the customer returns for the food they already paid for. Thank you.“
“I waited 2 yrs to go to this restaurant, and finally we went for my husbands birthday, which I mentioned on the reservation. The meals were just ok, and totally over priced. The wine was 20$ a glass. No bread prior to the meal, no card indicating it was bday, no house salad, so I will continue going to the Patio, which has as good, if not better food, wine is affordable.they acknowledge the event.Very disappointed. Also, if you are a high end restaurant perhaps you could have more choices of rum besides white, and dark.Vegetarian options: The beans were so hard that the dull steak knives hardly would cut them.“
“El Pastor is an excellent place to enjoy the best "cabrito" I have ever had in the RGV Valley. A peaceful, pleasant, and very friendly place. It's definitely my favorite place to return to again and again to eat an exquisite Cabrito al Pastor. Congrats!“
“personally don't eat sea food but, I used to work here. lemonade is always freshly made and staff is always properly trained. the happy birthday song is always epic. and you're always greeted with a warm welcome and a smile! btw the plancha tacos are awesome!“
“Good food, the service is from the waiter we had, very rushed, they don't let you review the menu properly to choose, we had to tell him that he will hold out for a while (this is only to order drinks) the food has good flavor and is well presented, in addition to speed in serving it, to the point that it piles up, (may be because there were few customers...sordid atmosphere, uncomfortable furniture“
“5yrs ago I write a bad review because our drinks took a long time, and then we were given the wrong drinks. This last time I went food was delicious, service was great, atmosphere was great. Huge difference from 5yrs ago. I'll definitely be going back.“
“The assortment of this buffet is enormous. Plenty of selection. Some of the offerings were fantastic while others were just ok. The service was good and kept our drinks full. The weekend price scared us as we walked in and saw it, but glad we decided to give it give it a try.Parking: PlentifulWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“My cousin and I were promptly greeted and seated. Lupita was our server and was very friendly and professional. The 3 of us were discussing the topic of Mother's Day being just around the corner and Lupita shared she had two daughters and I said it would be a blessing for her to share the special day with her children. She mentioned it has been years since she was able to spend Mother's Day with them and hoped this year would be different. I appreciated Lupita's professionalism and friendliness. It's my wish that she gets to be with her daughters this year for Mother's Day because she genuinely deserves it.“
“Really brings the feel of a traditional sea food restaurant from Mexico.. live musicians on occasions, lovely wait staff, and the food is basically comfort food.. nice and warm for the colder weather.. but when you get that fish fillet and a beer boy do you feel at home..“
“Small place, very informal. Service was friendly but a tad slow. Upon arrival we were served a cup of seafood broth, a plate of beans and a basket of homemade tortilla chips and salsas. Delicious Avocado filled with Shrimp Salad! Pulpo a la Diabla was delicious too, served with rice, salad, fries, and toast.“
