“Went for the first time on Sunday. Upon entering, we approached the check in/ cashier desk. Wait staff were walking back & forth as we stood & no one said a word. No greeting, not we will be right with you. Not a word! One young lady ( Wish I would have gotten her name) she was sitting right there, preparing serving utensils. She did not say a word as we stood there. I've never felt so uncomfortable, unwelcome, & disregarded! Never! Finally, another wait staff that was helping over at the check out computer, walked over & asked the young lady who was sitting there to assist us! Still, not a word to us! The young lady stood up & with the worse attitude, she asked did we want to sit inside or outside. While I was asking my husband his preference, she rolled her eyes & and rudely asked , " Inside or out!? Again, I wish I had asked her name, but she appeared to be the youngest. Between being disregarded as we walked in & stood, and her attitude, I told my husband I was uncomfortable & wanted to leave! He pushed back & said let's give it a chance beyond this! So we stayed & were seated outside as we preferred. Then comes our waitress! What a pleasant surprise & she turned our experience around! We learned that she had not been there but 3 days or 3 weeks. ( I forget) her name is Amanda & she is pregnant. She's such a pleasant & nice person! We felt badly for sitting outside, because she worked so diligently. It was quite a walk in the heat, because we chose to sit outside on the pier that was a bit of a walk. Again, she was so pleasant & professional! The drinks & food are superb! From the oyster 🦪 appetizers, to the platters! Delicious! Some of the best seafood & side orders, ever! Truly! Drinks are flavorful, delicious, and they aren't stingy or scarce with the liquor. 😆 I would absolutely visit again, but truly afraid of the treatment, unless it's Amanda again“

“We stopped by for lunch on a Friday after fishing, mainly because we had seen this spot on TikTok and we were close by. The atmosphere is really inviting and laid-back—you can seat yourself either inside or outside on the spacious patio. Since the weather was nice, we chose to sit outside, and it was a plus that every table had its own fan. Another thing we appreciated was that it’s a 21+ establishment. Parking was easy and there was plenty available.

For food, we started with the oysters, which were on special. Unfortunately, they were small and served warm, which was a bit disappointing. For entrées, we ordered the shrimp po’boy and the chicken fried steak. The po’boy wasn’t what we expected—just five shrimp served on a hot dog bun, which felt underwhelming. On the other hand, the chicken fried steak was excellent. The batter was crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Definitely the highlight of the meal.

Service was friendly and attentive—our waitress was very nice. My only wish is that she would’ve mentioned how small the po’boy was before we ordered.

Overall, despite some misses with the food, the atmosphere and the chicken fried steak stood out. We’d give it another try and would be willing to go back.“

“We love going to T-Bone Toms! We go during lunch and sit inside and when they have a band we sit outside. That gives you 2 different levels of dining experiences and both are great. There is a large variety of food choices, everyone can get something they love. Plus the wait staff are always welcoming. Brian is pretty much a family member at this point and we love his upbeat personality. He’s always hustling to get everyone taken care of and provides exceptional service. My husband usually gets the steak finger basket with mashed potatoes and gravy. Honestly, I just tried the mashed potatoes and brown gravy 2 days ago and realized that I’ve been missing out for more than 30 years. So, I went back yesterday to make sure I make up for it. I usually get the Cobb salad. It’s huge and has so many different toppings. It’s the best salad in the area, to me. The kids switch out their order every time but you can’t go wrong with the burger, chicken strips, ribs… even Mac and cheese. If you like a Hershey Cream pie…they have a chocolate pie that is amazing too. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.“

“do not get the pizza. The crust is so hard it could possibly break your teeth used to have the best crust in town but something happened crust is too dense, not fluffy and crisp. The way it used to be.“

“This is one of our favorite go to spots! They have half off appetizers Monday through Friday. One of the items offered is a sampler plate that is usually costs around $40 but closer to $20 during the week. SO MUCH FOOD and always delicious! During the cooler months they have soup flights. Yes, soup flights! There are usually 5-7 soups to choose from. The tomato basil ,chicken enchilada and gyro chili are a few of my favorites. If you love Greek food, this is a must try hidden gem. If not, they have other fantastic food choices and the Medusa burger is one of the best burgers around!! The fire feta is a must. The deck is wonderful and you can look out into the bay just behind the lighthouse. <3“

“We were driving by Kemah and decided to stop by for a beer. We walked around the various bars in the area, and most of them were very empty, probably because it was still early (around 630p) on a Saturday night. But when we walked past this place, it was buzzing. There were 3 or 4 small groups in their outdoor terrace, and you could feel the energy. Music was playing but not getting much in the way of conversation, so it was a nice atmosphere. We went inside to grab a beer. The bartender was busy, and when we asked about their IPA beers, she said we should look at the board. The electronic beer menu was flipping fast, so I could not quite go through one page before it got changed. We saw one we wanted to try, but after she walked back to the tap, she returned and let us know they were out. We finally got one we liked after a second try. We then walked out to the patio where the atmosphere was a bit more fun.

Of the places in the three blocks we walked, this seemed the most fun. If it was not for the electronic beer menu changing on me, I would give it 5 stars.“

“OMG! This place is s solid 5! It's small, tucked away off the beaten path, but this is a MUST do for dinner. They close at 7, so go early! You will not be disappointed. The prices are incredibly reasonable considering the amount and quality of food you get! The meat was cooked to perfection... probably the best steaks we have had in a long time! Brisket and turkey were fall-apart tender! The sides were delish... total comfort food!“

“My husband and I had Brunch at The Backyard for the second time recently and it once again did not disappoint. We have definitely made it our new spot! The service is sooo kind and friendly. The food is SOOO amazing. The drinks are fresh and well sized. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owners Chris & Shelby on our first visit. They are definitely what you look for in an establishment. I highly recommend Sunday funday brunch here! Even if you brunch with the family. Great spot! Great people!“

“Pelican is seriously one of those rare breakfast spots that just *nails it*. The food is amazing—crispy bacon, big hearty breakfasts, and that homemade feel you don’t get much anymore. The chicken fried steak? Unreal. Perfectly crispy, super tender, and that gravy on top is just next level. You can tell everything’s made with care, not just thrown together. It’s honestly hard to find places like this these days. If you're into real, solid breakfast food that tastes homemade, you gotta check this place out. Total hidden gem. “it's an okay place . only thing I highly disliked is them having drinks on their drinking menu that are overpriced af with no price next to them. me and my wife ordered the " pink senorita " not thinking it was going to be 15$ for EACH so a total of 30 for two drinks? get serious. there was no price next to the drink names and I didn't find out until after cause I had to ask the waitress. also when it comes to the food. specific things are worth the money and some are absolutely not. I ordered the blackened fish. was expecting a nice size serving. it said " half pound " it came out looking like it was no more than 8 oz of fish. immediately killed my mood. other than that it was okay. will i ever go again? more than likely not. there's plenty of places out there that have better drinks for the price and food.“
