“First it tastes like a homemade burger!!!!!! It had enough bacon to cut to cover the whole bun!!!!!! The bacon was thick and delicious!!!!!! In the meat taste like 100% beef!!!! But it needed a little more seasoning.... The bun was toasted well on both sides I could even taste the butter. The fries were obviously real from real potatoes but they weren't crunchy enough they weren't firm but they were okay... The best part the beef if you want to know where the beef is they have the beef... Five stars from me. WORTH TRYING OUT......“

“Since moving to Texas eating at Pier 6 has been our favorite dining experience. The food was delicious and mirrored New Orleans finest. Chef Joe Cervantez culinary skills result in delicious food from appetizers, entree to desserts! Our waiter was extraordinary and was so kind and polite. The restaurant sits on Galveston Bay; hence the atmosphere is fun and lively along with a beautiful view.“

“We went for a Bachelorette party dinner, the experience was great for the most part. Food was good, scallops were slightly overcooked, and the portions were large/sharable. Justin was fantastic even through the attitude issues of Jamie. “Went for the first time on Sunday. Upon entering, we approached the check in/ cashier desk. Wait staff were walking back & forth as we stood & no one said a word. No greeting, not we will be right with you. Not a word! One young lady ( Wish I would have gotten her name) she was sitting right there, preparing serving utensils. She did not say a word as we stood there. I've never felt so uncomfortable, unwelcome, & disregarded! Never! Finally, another wait staff that was helping over at the check out computer, walked over & asked the young lady who was sitting there to assist us! Still, not a word to us! The young lady stood up & with the worse attitude, she asked did we want to sit inside or outside. While I was asking my husband his preference, she rolled her eyes & and rudely asked , " Inside or out!? Again, I wish I had asked her name, but she appeared to be the youngest. Between being disregarded as we walked in & stood, and her attitude, I told my husband I was uncomfortable & wanted to leave! He pushed back & said let's give it a chance beyond this! So we stayed & were seated outside as we preferred. Then comes our waitress! What a pleasant surprise & she turned our experience around! We learned that she had not been there but 3 days or 3 weeks. ( I forget) her name is Amanda & she is pregnant. She's such a pleasant & nice person! We felt badly for sitting outside, because she worked so diligently. It was quite a walk in the heat, because we chose to sit outside on the pier that was a bit of a walk. Again, she was so pleasant & professional! The drinks & food are superb! From the oyster 🦪 appetizers, to the platters! Delicious! Some of the best seafood & side orders, ever! Truly! Drinks are flavorful, delicious, and they aren't stingy or scarce with the liquor. 😆 I would absolutely visit again, but truly afraid of the treatment, unless it's Amanda again“

“We stopped by for lunch on a Friday after fishing, mainly because we had seen this spot on TikTok and we were close by. The atmosphere is really inviting and laid-back—you can seat yourself either inside or outside on the spacious patio. Since the weather was nice, we chose to sit outside, and it was a plus that every table had its own fan. Another thing we appreciated was that it’s a 21+ establishment. Parking was easy and there was plenty available.

For food, we started with the oysters, which were on special. Unfortunately, they were small and served warm, which was a bit disappointing. For entrées, we ordered the shrimp po’boy and the chicken fried steak. The po’boy wasn’t what we expected—just five shrimp served on a hot dog bun, which felt underwhelming. On the other hand, the chicken fried steak was excellent. The batter was crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Definitely the highlight of the meal.

Service was friendly and attentive—our waitress was very nice. My only wish is that she would’ve mentioned how small the po’boy was before we ordered.

Overall, despite some misses with the food, the atmosphere and the chicken fried steak stood out. We’d give it another try and would be willing to go back.“

“Let me tell you about my evening at the Shrimp Shack in Galveston—it was the kind of experience that makes you want to write poetry about fried seafood. The shrimp? Perfectly golden, crispy, and so fresh I swear they waved at me from the fryer. Each bite was like a little crunchy hug from the Gulf. And as if that wasn’t enough, the sunset decided to show off. Sitting there, stuffing my face with fried shrimp while the sky turned shades of pink and orange, I felt like I’d hit the jackpot of simple pleasures. Shrimp, sunset, and sea breeze—what more could you want? Highly recommend. 10/10, would shrimp again.“

“My mom took me to lunch here today. it wasn't great at all. For a starter, the cheese sticks were so MASSIVE that the cheese didn't melt before the crust browned. I ordered chicken fried steak and garlic mashed potatoes with cream gravy. The cream gravy was like water and had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The garlic mashed potatoes were awful and gummy, artificial to say the least. My mother ordered fried shrimp and mashed potatoes. The fried shrimp came out with the "crust" white and semi-fried. Very strange. Also, these meals only came with one side, no vegetable option without it being an add on. These meals were $18.99 and $20.99 each! We were very underwhelmed for the price of these entrees. They DO NOT offer a lunch menu either. We will not be back.“

“This is a restaurant that bought an old shut down fast food restaurant (Burger King or McDonald’s). One of those family owned restaurants where you know the food is gonna hit. It has a lot of charms about it.

There were 3 of us and we got 2 combos (fish and shrimp combo) and it was enough to fill all of us up. The taste was great and the fried rice was really good too.

“Hidden gem!! We dined-in during our trip over Memorial Day 2021 and we were surprised with how delicious the food was. The salsa that came with the chips & salsa was super flavorful but not overly spicy. Their crab balls are Amazeballs!! You HAVE to order them! So yummy! Best I’ve had anywhere. The Cajun seafood pasta is delicious and is served in a massive portion that can easily be split between 2 people. Generous serving with lots of shrimp, sausage, and chicken. The fried pickles were fantastic. Sharp dills, great thickness, light batter. I ordered a side of red beans & rice as my main dish and it has a great texture and a hint of tart vinegar...would be best paired with cornbread or the amazing crab balls. I had a regular margarita on the rocks. It was ok. It was the most mediocre thing we ordered...so you KNOW the food is good. The music is great. We were here on Saturday from 8:30-10pm and the playlist was a great mix of Motown jams. 10/10 would recommend The Fish Place. We Absolutely recommend dining at this hidden gem!“

Walking up to the venue, jazz music was playing. This put me in my happy zone immediately!! It set the mood right out the gate. We were seated with no wait. We made a reservation. Nick was our server. He was very personable. Top notch table maintenance and follow-up! Now, let's talk about the delicious food! We had the $40 brunch buffet. We felt it was as worth it! I tried the following: gumbo, bacon, sausage, hash potatoes, chicken & waffles, fried fish, greens, smoked salmon, boiled shrimp, grits..,,whewwww! I didn't get to enjoy the omelet station or the carving station. More reason to return...AND WE WILL! We washed it down with mimosas with OJ and PJ! Tasty tasty. We couldn't believe a full bottle of was only $10. I was expecting a champagne split not bottle! There is a bar area right off of the buffet lines. The bar has swings!! Like “when you were a kid” swings!! Also, there is patio seating too! Live jazz music was playing the entire time we were there! Again, another reason to return!! Great experience all the way around! “Had drinks at the bar in the lounge to begin the evening - the tequila old fashioned, the espresso martini, and the lemon drop martini were on point!

From there we were welcomed and seated by the manager (Mr. B) and greeted by our waiter (Joshua). Both of whom have that knack for making you feel like you’re the most important party in the building. They set the tone for a great experience and Joshua does an outstanding job of anticipating the table’s needs so you never feel like you’re “waiting” for anything.

We started with apps that the table shared. The tuna tartare was phenomenal .. it’s a great go to if you love fresh tuna .. but the wasabi is real and it doesn’t play so go lightly. The pork belly brings an amazing sweet and smoky element with it. And the escargot is delicious .. don’t miss the chance to dip the bread into the butter and stuff left in the dish once the escargot has been enjoyed.

Tuesday nights are the Surf and Turf special - $35 lobster tail and filet. You can add any of the usual steak topping to it for a slight charge (the blackened crab or smoked mushroom sauce are both outstanding) .. but the demi-glacé on the filet stands on its own as well. Can’t go wrong with that. We’ve eaten here multiple times .. and there’s really no wrong answer on a menu that has something for everyone on it.

Overall .. while it seems like the newer restaurants in Galveston are more often discussed and suggested .. Shearn’s is as good as (or better than) it’s ever been. Perfect place to watch an amazing sunset .. have a perfectly crafted cocktail .. and enjoy an amazing meal while you’re taken care of by great service.“

“I had the Steakhouse Skewer with lobster, filet mignon, and colossal shrimp. It was fabulous, but next time my husband and I will share it. So much food! We were staying at another resort and had no way to take home the leftovers. Our waiter, Ricardo, was absolutely amazing. He made everything so wonderful. My only complaint, which is huge, is about the majority of the clientele. Loud, obnoxious, men wearing backwards caps and shorts in a very elegant atmosphere. When i go to a rather expensive restaurant, I would expect to see better behavior. So many were acting like it was a sports bar.“
