“When I travel I like to find local spots to eat rather than the chain places. I picked out the Ballard Street Cafe because it looked like an older place in an old downtown spot. I was not disappointed as it was exactly what I thought with exposed brick, wood floors, and a 50’s style lunch counter. In addition there were several tables and the required set of local characters sharing breakfast and gossip over coffee. The waitstaff was attentive and polite, and made you feel right at home. To complete the experience, I have to talk about the food. I ordered a 2 egg breakfast with chicken fried steak. It also came with choice of hash browns or grits and b&g, toast, or a pancake. I chose the b&g and grits. First off, the chicken fry was obviously hand breaded and cooked perfectly. They gave me a knife but it was fork tender. The grits were hearty and flavorful. The side of b&g came with TWO homemade biscuits and cream gravy. Everything was awesome! I ended up taking half my steak and the b&g home for a second meal. Getting ALL this with coffee for about $15 with tax almost felt criminal. If you’re ever in Wylie, do yourself a favor and check them out!“

“I came into Tailgaters on a Wednesday and had an awesome experience. Mariah was my bartender and she was great! Her attitude and friendliness is something to appreciate. “Ordered spring rolls and two orders of Bulgogi. Everything was outstanding. The spring rolls included shrimp as well as rice and veggies. The Bulgogi was tender, full of flavor and made me melancholy for my first time eating Bulgogi when I was stationed in Korea in the 1970’s. In addition to the Bulgogi, the dish included a large helping of rice, kimchi, and fresh cucumbers and carrots. We have frequented this excellent restaurant many times and have found all of its dishes to be delicious.“

“My husband and I were there 8/27/22. The food was good but the place was a mess. Food on the floor. Garbage bin running over so we could not use it. Lots of help(kids) just Messing around acting silly and loud. Drink station dirty and condiments need tending. We have been here before and witnessed the same thing. It needs cleaning and some adult supervision. I’ve never written a review before but after experiencing this here before I felt I needed to inform someone. All this doesn’t make me want to come back. A manager in training tried and seemed to be only person really working as the kids just seemed oblivious to helping.“

I love the salads they're also delicious. The new waffle and chicken is excellent but it has to be grilled. I would like to recognize Jack Savage he's always so kind every time we go by the drive-thru. Thanks for being so nice Jack every time we go by we really appreciate it.“

I called your store and your staff was eager to help! Within 45 minutes we had food for 25 people, including an array of delicious sides.
