“Sooooo Goood! We had Fajitas de pollo & my husband had Chile 🌶 Colorado. On the hot side he started to sweat 😂 but he loved it! Appetizers chips, salsa, beans. (Included with meal) and Butter Cake for dessert. And a strawberry lemonade it was delish! All was so delicious! I was so impressed with the corn tortillas! Freshly made and so soft. I even had to double check with the server that there wasn’t any flour added to them. They were so close to flour. So GF peeps you will love these. The chicken was very tender as well. “I have eaten at numerous Rancheritos but this one is our favorite, hands down. Edgar, at the front counter, will always greet you with a smile and recommendations. The food is super fresh, the refried beans are the best anywhere, and prices are very reasonable. We moved here from So Cal and are super picky about fast casual Mexican places…. Until this, We hadn’t found one in Utah we really liked and we’ve been here 8 years. This ranks up there with our favorite spots in So Cal.
I recommend anything with their Al Pastor…. It is the best. I particularly like the Al
pastor bowl and get a side of corn tortillas to make mini tacos with. My wife and her sister like their beef tacos and bean and cheese burritos. Get a side of their refried beans to
take home….. nothing beats them.

My one negative is that every steak dish I’ve ever gotten has always been dry due to the thin cuts. Other than that, I feel as their dishes are well balanced. Prices are fair. My husband came by Don Joaquin's a few days ago and couldn't stop raving about it so I decided to join him there for lunch today.... let me tell you that I am so glad that I did! The restaurant is spacious, clean and they have some freezers with Popsicles, paletas and ice cream bars and fried doraditos by the ordering station. Menu is simple but sometimes that all you need right? I got the gringa combo, which has 3 tacos (al pastor, chicken and asada) with a drink and my husband got an asada burrito with a side of rice. I also got a slice of strawberry tres leches cake which was stellar! Every single bite was lovely; everything was flavored so well and was fresh! Definitely recommend if you are in the area - you won't be disappointed!“

“When we first came to Utah in Aug 2020 we asked around and most people said there were not many good Mexican restaurants on SLC. Being from Southern California we know good Mexican food given the large Latino population. When we got a recommendation for El Gallo Loco, in Sandy of all places, we were skeptical but decided to go check it out. The words AMAZING do not even describe it. Alberto is super nice, friendly, and really helped us to pick dishes we thoroughly enjoyed. He is super humble about the place, and really took the time to find out what types of food and flavors we liked, and made recommendations which did not disappoint on any level. Their Tortilla soup is hands down the BEST we have ever had, and we’ve had a lot. Their chicken - WOW. Marinated and tender in any dish - tacos, burritos, fajitas - even just the chicken. They have 3 authentic salsas - the green sauce on burritos is so good we thought about it all week !! Chips are perfect - not greasy at all. Good range of drinks, beer, wine , margaritas and even horchata - if that’s not authentic I don’t know what is. This is one of our GO TO places for sure.“

I have to say the staff are awesome, very friendly and helpful (unlike some other places I have been recently) We ordered a Shredded Chicken Chimichanga, a California Burrito, a Habanero Burrito, and a side of rice. The food was served very promptly, hot and well presented, and we all agreed that it was absolutely delicious. Both of the Burritos and the Chimichanga were packed full of meat and flavor, Not like a lot of these places that pack them full of beans, and a few chewy bits of tasteless meat. They even put a bag of Cinnamon chips in with our order, which was a very nice touch. We will definitely be using this place on a regular basis, and will happily collect orders from their restaurant to deliver via DoorDash. Keep up the good work, it doesn’t go unnoticed.“
