“We were eating so fast we forgot to take pics until halfway through, and by then we were done with all the tacos haha! We ordered a chicken quesadilla, and then a pork taco and two beef tacos. Everything was so yummy! Even the sauces and guacamole were delicious! Definitely recommend! The only thing is that this little intersection is super busy so there’s not much parking.“

“I enjoyed dining at this pupuseria. It was the first time I had been back since it was called the Magic Skillet years ago. Luckily, the restaurant still has all of breakfast menu items from back in the day Plus some classic Latin dishes. My friend ordered the traditional southwest omelet. I ordered a chicken pupusa, a tamal and a taco Al pastor. The pupusa was a 5/5. It was amazing! The tamal and taco were good, 4/5. My friend loved his menu choice. Prices are very fair as well. We’ll definitely be back.“

The food was great, I'm originally from El Salvador and I can guarantee that this is the closest match when it comes to flavor and environment.

Yaneth was our server for me and my family, she is doing a great job, super kind and helpful, and I hope I can come back and enjoy this food one more time.
Pupusas are great, nuegados, yuca con chicharrón as well, and prices are not crazy high at all.

If you are around Northern Virginia.

“Traveling from Massachusetts, this was our first time at Taqueria Al Lado II — and it absolutely blew us away. We started with chips, guac, salsa, and queso — every dip was fresh and bursting with flavor. The tacos (beef and carnitas) were phenomenal, each with distinct, authentic seasoning. The quesabirria was rich and cheesy, and the rice rounded the meal off perfectly. Bruno, our server, was outstanding — friendly, fast, and genuinely made the experience better. “First time seeing this place, but I knew what I wanted immediately. Loaded fresh birria tacos, the most satisfying in northern Virginia. Ask for hot sauce upgrades! I didn't dip these because they seem perfect as served. Get some tres leches to soothe the sizzle.“

“I visited here for a lunch break and was blown away! This is an amazing little taco shop that I highly recommend visiting with your friends.

The menu is very simple and very affordable. The tacos are like 4.75 each and there’s a large variety of meat options. They also had quite an extensive drink menu.

I ordered the quesabirria tacos, and they were phenomenal. It came out piping hot, and was really tasty. The consommé was strong but didn’t completely overpower the natural flavors of the meat. The shell held together the whole time and didn’t make a mess in my hands. I was also very impressed with the two dollar salsa, it had a little bit of a kick to it which was a nice surprise.

My service was really fast and all of the servers were extremely polite. The interior of the restaurant is super cool, especially the huge hole in the wall that allows people watching. I really enjoyed the small parts of the experience two, like the tile tables and the weaved chip baskets. They also had plenty of seating options, including some seats on the outside of the bar.

This is one of my new favorite spots in D.C and I can’t recommend it enough!“

“**Also try their burger!** Taco Bamba in all locations but especially in Ballston is always bumping good beats and Taco Bamba in general literally has the best tacos in the DMV.

Not to mention….if you have not tried their burger, it’s a must! I don’t want to say it but it might also be one of the best burgers in the DMV, the flavors hit in every bite.“

“This is absolutely one of my favorite places to go! The Roost was my go to during the pandemic with tons of outdoor seating. Since it was in my neighborhood we frequented a lot. The staff watched my little one practically grow up there! It became our meeting place and neighborhood watering hole. Quick and efficient and some of the best food and customer service! We’ve moved from the area but always stop by when in town because it feels like home!“

“Open late and everything tasted so fresh and authentic! We were looking for something to eat late on a Sunday night and a friend recommended Picamas since they lived nearby. I ordered the chicken burrito and it was so good. The tortilla was really soft and the chicken was so flavorful and went really well with the rice and veggies in the burrito. The owner was so friendly and they really made an effort to prepare our meal for us. Overall great food and we’ll definitely be coming back!“

(If they’re clear and red they’re not made correctly) and only $6 during Happy Hour. I’m not a big fan of Mexican food, Cosmos I ordered the Bora Bora marinated chicken without the tortilla over rice. It was delicious! The chicken was so tender and tasty and all the flavors were wonderful. I also enjoyed watching the surfers on TV,. The waves relaxed me instead being stressed out over a delayed flight. “Dining here was a mixed bag. First, I expected more fusion. It's not really a fusion restaurant. You can order tex-mex OR you can order Korean but the only real fusion on the menu is two taco choices or one meal.

I went with the tacos. They were fairly bland. Nothing made me overly excited to have ordered them.

Now what I loved was the ambient temperature. I HATE how no matter how hot it is outside I have to carry a jacket with me because it's always freezing cold inside in America. That wasn't the case here. I had my jacket with me but I never needed it. It was a nice comfortable temperature inside.

The restroom was clean.

The interior design is 100% Dia de los Muertos, no Korean fusion in the art but it was still cool.

The bar looked well stocked. I bet it's a fun place to have a drink with friends.

“Best experience ever, thank you! My soon to be 5 year old daughter wanted to go to Bar Taco for her birthday dinner this past Saturday evening. Not surprisingly as it was prime time on a Saturday they had a decent wait but she was determined. The hostess was kind and made sure to keep us updated on where we were on the list while continuously checking how close the tables were to clearing out while also letting my 2 girls pick out full size coloring books. Once we got a table the hostess danced with my daughters to the table. As soon as we sat down the manager came by and said “I heard we have a birthday being celebrated here?” In such a way that really made her feel like a princess. He then brought both my daughters free Shirley Temples and apologized for the wait. After we finished eating the same manager brought both girls free ice cream and comped our dessert we ordered. To top it all off they stopped the girls on the way out and gave them Bar Taco sunglasses, stickers, and a bandana. Thank you making an amazing birthday celebration for my daughter and making this solo dad look cool and like he actually knows what he is doing when it comes to celebrating his girls. I doubt she will ever want to go anywhere else for her birthday dinner.“
