The rye bread was toasted perfectly, the sauerkraut was tangy, the smoked tempeh was a delicious stand in for corned beef, and put together with the dressing and the cheese it was melt in your mouth delicious. “The staff and service was impeccable. This is hands down the best sushi restaurant I've ever experienced. The seafood is incredibly fresh, and every dish is visually stunning. The creativity behind the sauces truly sets this place apart, and I even heard the chef makes his own soy sauce—which absolutely shows in the depth of flavor. The Japanese uni was beautifully presented, and the tuna was a deep, rich red that melted in my mouth, finished perfectly with a delicate sprinkle of truffle oil. Every bite felt intentional and expertly crafted. I only wish I lived closer—this would easily be my daily go-to restaurant.“

There is a pleasing range of mezzes, salads, entrees hot and cold, flat breads, spreads, etc . I had a Yayla mule, 3 spreads, lemony rice soup and superb shrimp. Again, we ended up at a “safe” spot we like to visit. The food and service were good, but it was just our usual go-to. Fast forward to last week: my best friend from Puerto Rico came to visit with his family. He loves to eat, and his wife can be hard to please. This time, we decided to go to Sabores Tapas Bar. I’ll admit, I was nervous—I wanted them to have a great experience, but pleasing everyone is never easy. Finally, we went. What can I say? The food was amazing, and the service was just as incredible. It was so good we couldn’t stop eating. I had high expectations—growing up, my house was always full because my friends came over for my mom’s cooking. She’s an amazing cook. Mom, forgive me for saying this, but Sabores Tapas Bar is as good as, if not better than, your cooking, and the service was amazing. Wow. I’ve found the place. It’s so good that I want to go back and try dishes I normally don’t like, just to see if they can make me love them. I can’t wait to return. My taste buds have found the love of their life at Sabores Tapas Bar.“

“WOW! I live in DC and have tried basically every Thai place in DC but rarely make it to VA. Thai is some of my favorite food. My main complaint with most DC places is that the food is NOT spicy enough. Not the case here! I got the drunken noodles tonight and hands down they were the spiciest best I've had in the area! “We tried the harira and the fatoush, and both were good. The harira was comforting and well seasoned, and the fatoush was fresh and nicely dressed. The lamb prunes dish was too sweet for my taste. I was expecting it to be more savory and spiced, so it didn’t work for me. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, with some dishes stronger than others.“

“I’m new to the Arlington area and have been searching for a wine bar for quite some time. That search ended recently, as I came across Verre.

I was warmly greeted and promptly presented with a menu despite a busy evening. I opted for a charcuterie board paired with the boom boom shrimp.

I was impressed with Lilly’s expertise, as she guided me through several wine recommendations, leading me to try the vino verde.

The lemon lime and green apple notes coupled with some of the best prosciutto assortment I’ve had, made me think I was on the coast of northern Portugal even in the dead of winter.
