“It's affordable and the food is delicious. They have a hibachi station, sushi station, dessert, and plenty of Chinese food. They also have dim sum and ample amounts of crayfish and crabs (male). At the time I went, despite a chinese tour group showing up at the beginning, the food was still well-stocked.“

“Gracious staff welcomed us in. The restraunt was very clean and the decor is beautiful. There are so many vegan options on the menu, it's hard to decide what to try first. We ordered the brown rice garden rolls, pad thai and congee. Everything was delicious. We plan to be frequent customers, and maybe eventually we'll be able to try everything on the menu.“

“I am so glad I found out about this place! The only plant-based restaurant in the entire DMV area with a Michelin star. We had the 14-course tasting menu. Happycow only allows 9 photos, so I can't upload the whole meal but I wish I could! The menu has four "acts". It began with prickly pear/tajin candies with edible rice paper wrappers. Then a hot cocoa with rum. Then 5 types of arepas (pictured) with 3 different dips... the cashew sour cream was sublime! That was the opening act. First act included the yuba, celery root, and black bean mole on a crisp (pictured), that has been posted elsewhere as it's on top of a glass box with money in it. Referring as an offering to ancestors. The next course was a delicious soup with fava beans and plantains, the recipe of the executive chef's grandmother. Then a watermelon, carrot, and avocado dish (pictured). I am not usually a watermelon fan but this type was good. Second act included coconut ceviche, a small bite with heart of palm and seaweed and tomato (pictured), and a main dish of roasted beet with wild rice and black truffle (pictured). Also a black bean tamale with trumpet mushroom (pictured, though the mushroom was way too salty - my only complaint of the entire meal). Third act included a melon, parsnip, and basil snack, a dessert with cherry and mochi (pictured, tribute to the DC cherry blossom trees), and a candy made of dulce de leche. We finished with a mango sorbet as it was a special occasion (off-menu). I had the tequila flight (very slowly throughout the meal), which complemented each dish. My partner, who is not a vegan, said it was the best meal she's ever had in the DMV area, ever! We got to talk to the owner/chef. All the servers were very gracious and happy to hear how much we loved the food. Plus, we met celebrity chef Pati Jinich, who was there seated at the table next to us and very kind when we thought we recognized her as someone we knew, but in reality we had seen her on TV! Just a coincidence that she was there. All the dishes are Latin inspired from all different countries in central and south America. Overall an unforgettable experience. “We had an early dinner before attending a performance at the Ford’s Theater. We made reservations through Open Table and were immediately seated upon arrival. The service was great. Our server recommended several dishes that we loved. There were abundant vegan and vegetarian options. Chilorio de Res tacos were mouthwatering as were the Hongos en Milto ones. In fact, every dish we ordered was delicious. One dish (chilaquiles) never arrived from the kitchen but we were pressed for time so we opted to have it taken off our bill instead of waiting for them to prepare it separately. Dessert, Cafe de Olla, was phenomenal. Pics are only some of the items we tried. Great atmosphere for date night and a milestone birthday celebration. Highly recommend.“

“After finding out about this restaurant months ago, I have DREAMT of eating here. My birthday was the PERFECT time to go here! I was welcomed by staff and had an accommodated menu for those who are GF or allergic to wheat like me. I got to try the General D’s Cauliflower dish, and OH MY GOSH! I downed that dish because that was the most delicious thing I’ve had all weekend…the sweet chili really brought everything together; the breaded cauliflower was the star of the entire dish! For dessert, I had the matcha cheesecake, and it was heaven in my mouth! What made it even more special, the staff brought it out with a sparkler, making it a highlight of my birthday dinner! “Wow! Probably one of my new favorite spots in DC! Literally everything we tried was phenomenal - and I think these are the best fries I've had in DC! I got Madam VP Heritage, and my husband got the Mumbai Mariachi. Our kids got the Classique Grilled Cheese, which was delicious (I want to know what bread they used) and perfectly balanced with the ham and Swiss. We finished our meal with the alfajores, which I didn't get a photo of because we gobbled them up. But I was incredibly impressed with the food and service. Reasonably priced (especially for where it's located), bright and airy. It is a bit small, so it would be difficult to accommodate a large group, but there's plenty of seating, and there were several folks here reading and just hanging out on a Friday mid day. I can't recommend this spot enough - as a gastroadvocacy spot, it was already intriguing enough, and the diverse (and changing) menu is exceptionally executed! Excited to come back and try more things on the menu - with a side of fries!

Vegetarian options: There are very clearly labeled vegetarian and vegan options. It's not an extensive selection, but they are delicious!

Parking: It's definitely in a difficult area to find parking since it's in the heart of the city and close to many tourist attractions.

Kid-friendliness: There is no kids menu, but it's reasonably kid friendly otherwise. Our kids really enjoyed the grilled cheese and fries and cookies. May not be suitable for children who are very picky.“

It will change your life and make you more beautiful! Tucked in Whole Foods in McLean, the service was friendly, fast, and fun! They helped me navigate the website and get a free sandwich for becoming a member. He even showed interest in me, asking if I was a vegan. I said I'm vegetarian and ready to try a quick vegan based meal! He recommended the spicy "chicken" sandwich 🥪 and mushroom BBQ" burger,"🍔 so I ordered both! My mom had the chicken and enjoyed it very much. Cutting a piece from her chicken sandwich, for a taste Mom and I agreed it was perfect texture, best vegan chicken sand, close to Quorn, and so much better. With lettuce, pickle, tomatoes.🥒🍅🥗 The sweet potato fries were thick cut and delicious! 🍟 adding salt, which is a good sign, and we both enjoyed the dips that were similar to vegan mayo. The "burger" was chewy, juicy, tasted char broiled with caramelized onions and mushrooms with great texture. I think it would hit the spot if I'm ever "craving a burger."
Note: the sandwiches are small and DO NOT look like the photos of the food on their website. Mom had mandarine orange cardamom drink. 🥤It held up in flavor and refreshment. I had the banana oatly milkshake. 🧋which was creamy,sweet, and flavorful. My personal preference - adding chocolate 🍫 would have boosted this shake to "worth traveling from Annapolis just for this milkshake!" 🤩
Personally, I dont understand why a meal free of animal protein must resemble animal protein. I just think it's weird, and I prefer a whole grain meal with greens and bright colored veggies. Overall, it was a satisfying, delicious meal that I would recommend for all palates and picky eaters for a quick, satisfying meal. I have not checked into the nutrition labeling, so there is no comment on protein, sodium, sugar, or vitamin content. I have not yet researched how this restaurant creates their dishes. If your digestive system is sensitive or FODMAP, please ask your health care provider🩺 about eating vegan. (My mom eats animal protein and she said this meal moved quickly, if you catch my drift...) The one tiny downside was the carry out drink carrier broke when I got out of the car. 🤔The website offers daily specials like BOGO, free ice cream.🍧 I'm a fan, as a nurse, it's refreshing to have a healthy, fast food option and I'm telling all my friends. 😁“
