“Whenever I spot a new café in the area, I’m quick to check it out. So when I saw the sign for Fairuz Cafe while at a shipping center I visit often, I was intrigued and stopped in to explore. From the moment I walked inside, I was captivated by the warm Mediterranean atmosphere. The owner has created a special space with beautiful decor and fun extras like the chess and pool tables.
The pastries were delicious and the coffee was excellent. I visited with my daughter, and the owner was so kind, he even gave her a treat, which made it feel like such a welcoming spot for families. Just note that some guests use hookahs later in the day. The owner explained they’re typically allowed only after 6:00 PM, so arriving earlier with kids is perfect.

I’m always in the mood for all-day breakfast items when I’m on a work trip, so I tried the pork sausage, egg and cheese on sourdough toast, and a delicious latte. Food and coffee were outstanding. It’s obvious the staff puts care in the prep of every sandwich. The toast was toasted perfectly with the right amount of crunch, eggs were lightly seasoned with pepper before whisking, and the cheese was nice and “melty”. “This cafe feels like the type of place where you can sit alone without feeling awkward. I came in around 4 PM with headphones and a book, and nobody bothered me even though I stayed quite a while. The hazelnut latte was smooth and not burnt tasting like some coffee shops nearby. I also liked that they kept the music at a normal volume. The only small issue was one chair near my table being shaky, but a staff member swapped it out after noticing me adjusting it repeatedly. Thoughtful service overall.“

“Genuinely love this place. There’s plenty of space to work remotely, especially upstairs. The baristas are also super friendly and give good recommendations on drinks. There is art on rotation on the walls throughout the shop that adds a nice vibe to the place. I attended the coffee class they have on 2nd Saturdays and was blown away by the knowledge of the instructor. Highly recommend signing up for it.“

“I bought some Dark as Dark from the grocery store! My wife likes dark roast! She usually uses a creamer. I drink mine black! This has to be the smoothest dark roast I have ever tried! I usually end up with a bitter aftertaste with the dark roasts I have tried so far. Not with this. We bought a grinder thinking that may be the problem but even with fresh beans lots of dark roasts still give that bitter aftertaste. This is tasty all the way through! I’ll be buying this from now on and I like the fact that we will be supporting a Va business as well. We will have to try out one of your locations in Richmond some time!“
