“Why can't the French dip be added to the menu? I would love to come by after work around 6pm and order the French dip! I would eat here more often and spend more money if I could get the French dip at any time of day. It's so sad I can only get it from 11am to 3pm. I would spend more time and money here if the owner would keep this on the main menu. I hope he actually looks at these reviews, but I doubt it.“
“We ordered the Steak and Cheese Tortellini from catering menu for pick up on the 26th of December for after Christmas lunch with family. It was a hit!! So much food and the steak was cooked to perfection. The cheese tortellini was delicious.Service was awesome as well. Thanks to all who prepared and helped with getting it ready on time too! You guys rock!!“
“First time visiting Oceano, but it will not be our last. Food, drinks, and service were great. Lance, our waiter was excellent! Oyster Rockefeller was not on the menu, but the chef happily prepared it for us, delicious!! I think it may have been the best we ever had. We will definitely be returning.“
“I spent New Years Eve here and while the space was amazing, the planning and execution of the event was not. We paid extra for a VIP experience - the food was FANTASTIC! Probably the best thing of the night! The evening included a 90s dress contest, a 90s band and midnight champagne toast....Well, the contest winner was not even announced nor was added to their Instagram - there were 4 pictures posted out of everyone dressed up. Up in the VIP room, there was NO count down or anything - it was 2024 and we didn't even realize it - so much for our special midnight toast in the VIP Lounge! While I didn't know one song the band played, I was assured they were 90s songs. the advertisements should have said ONE STYLE of 90s music.. this event can be great....Just needs some work to it ... especially when people are paying extra!“
“Come for the pizza- stay for the great service! After years of hearing about Jo-Jo's from my husband who worked downtown, we were so excited to learn about Jo-Jo's South. Living down the street, we've enjoyed many delicious pies both delivered and in the newly renovated, sunny space with friends. Enrico is super welcoming and funny and Amy is amazing too.“
“The Grapevine is my favorite restaurant in the Richmond area. Their food is absolutely amazing and their staff goes out of their way to ensure a wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend coming to the Grapevine to experience the fantastic atmosphere that the Trak family has created, and definitely enjoy their outstanding rolls!“
“If you want LEGIT NY style pizza, or Authentic Italian cuisine. Capriccios is your place!! Amazing food! Friendly staff!! Why drive to NYC?? Capriccios brought it right here to Richmond!!! My go to whether I’m in the mood for eggplant parm or a large pepperoni!! Always awesome!!!“
“The short rib ravioli was amazing! We arrived in time to enjoy the happy hour and the Brussels sprouts appetizer were crispy and so good. Highly recommend the chocolate torte, served on plate with cocoa powder, the playing of the dishes took it up a notch and well presented! Will definitely be coming back.“
“I have been going to Joe's in since 2000, when I first moved to Grove Ave. I had my first legal drink there when I turned 21. And I've had many first dates there. It is, without a doubt, the vision of a corner bar. When they show places like home town bars in movies or shows, it always makes me think of Joe's. If you are looking for food or a drink or just a great place to get coffee and read the paper. You should go to Joe's. Warning : the after church crowd is not a nice group of people to be around. But maybe that is just my experience.“
“But for Google we might not have found the plain, unmarked door, but stepping inside is like entering an oasis. After a drink at the bar (we had a reservation but it was so beautiful, we asked to sit on the patio on arrival and they needed a moment to arrange it), we were shown out to the lovely patio area. Neatly walled off from the outside and with a roof to prevent the weather from ruining your meal, it's a pleasantly peaceful space - well lit even after sundown and spaciously arranged. The menu is reasonably brief but still difficult to choose from, and we finally settled on two antipasti and two 'pasta' dishes (the risotto lives in the same section) after we were advised they were perfectly entree sized. The burrata and beef tartare were delicious, especially the former with its blood orange, hazelnuts, and what I believe were slivers of fennel. I will confess a note of puzzlement, since neither appeared to come with its own bread (we ordered bread and olive oil separately) as if one were expected to eat it with a spoon- the potato listed as a tartare ingredient was definitely delicate crispy crumbs, not crisps as I expected. A second plate of bread was provided (and extra olive oil, though this was honestly wasted) without delay on request though. The mushroom risotto packs a heavy earthy punch. It's cooked well, and quite filling, perhaps heavier than might be expected. The Meyer lemon bucatini was a light, airy flavor, a touch sweet as opposed to savory, much like the citrus and burrata. I demolished it entirely, though I probably could have been satisfied with less than I did end up eating in total. Sensibly, I took the tiramisu home. It traveled well and was delicious once I had the space in my stomach to consume it.All in all a beautiful experience, the only thing ordered that wasn't consumed was a milk punch- Do not be fooled by the list of ingredients, it is extremely sweet, but the staff replaced it for me without protest, and my corpse reviver was immaculate. We would absolutely go back, though the price point is to be taken seriously, it is not a place to go on a budget.Vegetarian options: There are a number of things which are vegetarian (it's a small menu) and they are reasonably clearly marked. It is still probably wise to ask about things like the risotto, since you never know what broth is used.Dietary restrictions: There is a very short menu and no real room for substitutions here. Depending on what your dietary restrictions are, it may not be doable.“
“My hubby and I stumbled upon this gem after seeing a reel on IG, and boy, were we glad we did! We found the restaurant jumping - almost every seat taken. But luck was on our side, and we snagged a spot thanks to a last-minute cancellation. The owner, a real charmer, welcomed us in like old pals. Our server, MJ, was on point, making sure we had everything we needed with a smile. The vibe? Think warm and inviting, like dining at a friend's place. Now, onto the grub. Freshness was the name of the game here - from the herby oil to the salad and bread that hit the table. Hubby went for the Salmon Capricio, and I dove into the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. Minor gripe - my shrimp was a tad overdone, but the flavors were still top-notch. Oh, and let's not forget the fried mozzarella - crispy, gooey perfection. Long story short, this place is a winner. Despite the shrimp snafu, the stellar service, cozy atmosphere, and downright delicious food have us planning our next visit already. Count us in as regulars - we can't wait to come back for more!“
“We ate at La Grotta for the first time last night. It will be the first of many! The service, food, and ambiance were spectacular. We were a party of 3 and each of us cleaned our plates. Our friend with Celiac could choose from almost the entire menu which is unheard of, especially at an Italian restaurant. If you're looking for a truly delicious meal, you'll find it at La Grotta! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“
“It was fine. It wasnt mind blowing. The main reason i went there was for the cheese wheel. Apparently, it's only there when the manager is there. The portions weren't that big, and i didn't get much crab meat, but at least it was tasty. Another thing i didn't like was i ordered a drink but changed my mind in less than 5 mins. My server didn't want to take it off the bill before i even received the drink, so i ended up paying for it. At least it was pretty ?“
“Would give them 100 ⭐️'s! This is an absolute hidden gem in the city of Richmond. We stopped in before heading to a show at Altria. Not big, ting place, but we squeezed in at the bar and made bar buddies with the couple sitting next to us since we were bumping elbows. I ordered the Oyster Mushroom meal, and it was one of the most amazing dishes I've ever eaten. Didn't even know you could make it into a full meal. My buddy got fresh made sausage, which he gave me a bite of, and it was incredible as well. If you want some top of line Italian food and not the normal stuff, you need to try Dinamo!“
“A delightful coffee shop in the West End. I came once many years ago and it's only gotten better. I'm not a coffee drinker so I actually got a hot chocolate, but they have lots of espresso flavors and it's clear they take coffee very seriously. I did get an apple turnover, which was delicious! Perfectly flaky and full of apple filling. There's lots of indoor and outdoor seating for the space, and it's clear that they have some very loyal regulars. Overall it's a very cozy space, and I'm excited to come back and try some more things from the menu next time!Parking: There's a good amount of parking here that's shared with the other businesses in this shopping center.“
“Cutest deli shop I've ever been in, the atmosphere and food were quite delightful. I haven't had many subs in my life but the Mediterranean Magic sub I can declare my favorite sub ever. I would recommend for anyone in Richmond looking for a delicious lunch and place to dine.“
“The MoM gets 5 stars. Got a great tutorial from Victoria of Column 15 Coffee on their wares. Tried the cold brew with a frozen coffee bomb in the middle. Heavenly! We gorged on a Hanover tomato and meatball Polpetti pocket sammich. Fresh and delicious! Will be back after 4 pm to try Auntie Ning’s Filipino food and Take and Bake options. They have not officially opened, but they are already one of my favorites in the neighborhood.“
“First time eating here. The decor and ambiance was great. The vibe was good. Our waitress Kelly was awesome. The food was DELICIOUS & portions were hearty! There is outdoor dining with heat lamps and fireplace. We ate inside and got to watch the bartender work his magic. The drinks were delish too! Overall, this little gem is too good to miss!“
“I ordered a calzone with sausage, chicken, mushrooms, onions, garlic, roasted red peppers, jalapeños, feta and ricotta cheeseWith a 10pc buffalo wings plate. I will say I have never eaten a calzone where the dough was nice and fluffy with every bite. I find myself forgetting to respect food- because I just eat to eat. Man listen, first bite- second bite, I’m like who in theeeee helllllll made this piece of heaven?! THAT SHIZZLE was so flippin ahhhmazing, I had to drive 31 mins and have her try it too.- she’s a calzone person like me. Pizza is still cool- but a damn fricken good calzone can make a man check himself about knowing where to go when you need some bomb food. Thank you Cabrerras, much appreciated! I haven’t even tried the wings yet, I’m pretty sure I won’t be disappointed ?“
“Enoteca Sogno sets the bar for excellent Italian cuisine in Richmond. Tucked away in a nondescript building in Bellevue, this cozy, welcoming restaurant offers incredibly delightful Italian dishes and a robust wine list. I was DD but I heard great things about the Moscato wine. We ordered the robiola cheese to start, which came with their super lovely homemade bread. We needed a second helping of that. Even the olive oil was clearly high quality. For my meal, I opted for the crespelle pasta special, which was basically like a pasta crepe with spinach, bechamel, and cheese with marinara. It was so good and not sickeningly filling, which was an added plus. It let me save room for their lemon mascarpone cake for dessert! Service was prompt and friendly. I was glad we were able to score a table on a rainy Wednesday evening. For busier times, I'd definitely book a reservation.“
“I went to Candela's for the first time a few days ago and I was pleasantly surprised. The front of the resturant is nothing special but inside was a nice homey atmosphere that was very clean and welcoming. I'm a stickler for clean resturants and everything here was spotless. The food is the real reason for this review. AWESOME FOOD! The Italian bread on the sandwich was so fresh and tasty. I haven't had good Italian bread like that since I lived in NYC years ago. All the ingredients were FRESH unlike these sub places. It tasted so good I was full but kept trying to finish it. The 8" Italian sub was what I ordered and it was delicious. I will definitely be back.“
“Splits the difference between "down-home cookin" and "haute cuisine" and does a masterful job of it. There's something for everyone on the menu, and all of it is great. Particularly pleased to see no "cruelty food" (e.g. fois gras) or baby animals (veal, lamb) on the menu. Thanks for that.“
“Great Pizza and Gluten Free Crust.I have the Salami pizza which had a excellent crust, great sauce and cheese. We like the variation in the menu and the staff were very helpful. My wife is gluten free and she said the crust was one of the best she has eaten. Will be returning.Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free Crust option.“
“Overall Rating: 7.8/10Whether opting for dine-in or takeout, the pizza and the appetizer sampler were satisfying.Takeout Service: 7.9/10The process of ordering online was streamlined, with the convenience of Apple Pay and immediate email confirmation. The food was ready as promised. However, the online menu could use better descriptions to help ensure customers know exactly what they are ordering.NY Cheese Pizza: 7.1/10A solid choice for pizza lovers, featuring great taste and good sauce. The only drawback was the dough, which was a bit too chewy than preferred.Appetizer Sampler: 7.9/10Definitely worth trying, as it provides a variety of options. The Mac n' cheese bites were surprisingly crispy and delicious. The chicken tenders were well-cooked, and the mozzarella sticks boasted generous cheese filling, complemented by a selection of sauces.Value: 7.9/10The pricing for the pizza seemed reasonable, but the appetizer sampler stood out as particularly good value, offering an enjoyable range of tasty options.“
“This restaurant has never let me down. I was ordering from them off of a delivery app but I finally decided to save myself some money and visit them in person. The staff was super friendly and the food was really good. I recommend the sausage neapoletana it has been my go to. Highly recommended!“
“Had a night out with the Lady, it took a second to get seated, & there wasn't anywhere to wait that wasn't in the way of the wait staff, but we were seated in a nice corner section, making it very easy to hear my girlfriend, despite it being quite bustling, we had the branzino & the napolese spaghetti with squid, scallops, mussels, etc, I am finishing the leftovers now, two days later & it is still delicious. Would give 5 stars if there was a lobby or waiting area.“
“I can’t praise this little restaurant enough! We had the pleasure of being helped by Bernadette and she made this a 5 star (and more) experience. If “fantastic server with a wonderful personality and caring attitude” had a picture, it would be Bernadette. The courses came quickly and tasted amazing! I got the ravioli and my partner got the ziti, both of which were wonderful. The cauliflower pizza was the best one I’ve ever had and despite it being a little out of the way, I’m so glad we stopped through on the way home to Hampton Roads.“
“A true Richmond gem! The staff is absolutely delightful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The fresh pasta, subs, and small batch spirits are amazing. The frozen lasagna, ravioli, and cannelloni offerings are always a wonderful treat after a long day when I want something homemade but don’t want to cook something from scratch. They are a pick-up location for Creambrook Farms raw milk share (how I found out about this amazing spot). Don’t miss out on their house smoked salmon, signature cocktails, or small but well curated beer and wine selections either!“
“It's absolutely the best Pizza and best place to enjoy real Appiza! The owners are always there working!!? That's always a Plus and they're from Sicily/ Italy. Who better to create Good whoops Great sauce than a native Italian? There's a relaxing feeling there. You may sit at a table and enjoy its pizza or lasagna or any one of their many Italian dishes created their. The prices are reasonable, service excellent and the food is above average... Delicious!!!! I consider myself a Pizza or Appiza expert because I am from Connecticut the home of Pizza! Frank Pepe came up with the idea ? using a cookie sheet, mozzarella and good sauceHe created a pizza ?!!! They also have a Chicago style if you prefer it and it's great“
“Pretty good pizza in freaking giant slices. Unlike most giant slice places these dont suck. I got just olives on my slice. Guy asked kalamata or green? Seriously. The one major shortcoming is that they have shakers for oregano and garlic powder but no parmesan. Unless there is some secret insider method for obtaining a cheese shaker by turning the second wall sconce counterclockwise. They have a lot of interesting pies, but I found the menu hard to read so I just asked them what they have. This is on me though, I have bifocals, and the menu is on the front of the counter. So you have to look down to read it, snd that angle is awful on bifocals. Especially when handwritten. Will go back.Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options. I didnt see any vegan pies though, but to be fair I didnt read the entire menu because its hard to read.“
“La Cucina in Midlothian, VA is a hidden gem! The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff create a welcoming experience. The menu offers a delightful variety of Italian dishes that are made with the freshest ingredients. From the perfectly cooked pasta to the flavorful sauces, each bite is a true delight. The portion sizes are generous, ensuring you leave satisfied. Don't forget to save room for dessert! The tiramisu is simply divine. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner or a family gathering, La Cucina is the perfect spot. Highly recommended!“
“The food arrived hot and delicious. The waitress was attentive and courteous. I had the meatball sub it consisted of large meatballs which to me seemed to be homemade. The sandwich was generous with tomato sauce and cheese. I order a side of fries since the sandwich did not include a side. The fires were hot out the fryer.“
“I don’t spend much time in the short pump area so I never knew of this place. We stopped in as a last minute option in the way home to get a quick bite. This place was packed!! We were told the wait was about 20 minutes. We waited about 5 till we were called. Our waitress was amazing!!!!! Super friendly and polite. Even when our kid knocked over an entire cup of water. We got the deep dish pizza and it was unreal how delicious it was. (We’re from the nyc area and are kinda pizza snobs). Definitely adding g this spot to our list of places to go back to. All the other food also looked amazing. I’m definitely going to try the past next time.“
“We were hungry for pizza so we decided to give Sergio’s a try. Chase greeted us and was our waiter as well. I had a 10“ pizza and wings with an Oreo cannoli for dessert. Our waiter was fast and efficient. He knew the menu like he wrote it. We will definitely be back to try out some other menu items in the future. Thank you Chase for excellent service.“
“I had the linguine and white clam sauce. It was really good. For desert, I had a cannoli that was really good too.Vegetarian options: Many options of vegetable dishes and other dishes with no meat or fish.Kid-friendliness: Many dishes children would like and many families with children.“
“I ordered the special, a small sub, fries and drink for 10 dollars! It was amazing and so delicious!! The hospitality was also amazing which honestly made the food taste so much better! My friend ordered a slice of cheese pizza and it came out hot and fresh like the rest of the food. Overall very awesome and will be attending this place regularly 20/10“
“Tony, our server did a great job. The food was very good, especially compared to other Italian restaurants in the arena. Prices were very far for the quality of food. The atmosphere is traditionally Italian restaurant and cozy. Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience. Would come back again and recommend to friends.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pizza⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Calzone“
“The food was wonderful!!! I tried the pizza but ordered fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. My son has multiple allergies and they were very accommodating and answered all my questions!!! We also had a big family and we were all able to sit by each other.“
“Old fashioned (as in great) atmosphere and service. Excellent food. We loved the pizza tonite, and have loved the salads, pasta and osso buco. Palermo is our spot for a family dinner, as well as for a romantic tour of Italy, 10 min. away from home“
“The Greek dishes are very good, as are the Italian dishes. The bread is to die for, fresh, soft, flavorful. Tiropita is flaky and delicious. We've been eating at Nick's for many years, mostly take out. Staff are friendly. When my parents were with us and came to visit from Atlanta, they always wanted to dine at Nick's and was my dad's favorite place for Greek and Italian. Love the seasonal decorations!“
“I stopped in because my brother said it was really good, so I said great I'll go get dinner. There were 5 of us. We got Cheesesteaks with the works, excellent fries (best fries I've had in a long time), and a pepperoni stromboli. Dinner was excellent and hot! Thank you, Glen Allen Bistro, for a delicious takeout.Parking: Spots specifically for curbside and pickup, which is nice because usually it's just for curbside.“
“We just love Ciao Capri. It’s our special date night spot and we don’t feel overly-full after we have a 3 course meal, bread, and drinks. It feels like an Italian grandma is making you a homemade meal from her seaside Italian hometown. The service had been good every time we visit, too.“
“Nummmm nummm nummm. Consistently good but beware, causes serious cravings. I loooooove the spaghetti with meat sauce, it's more of that Tuscan flavor than a tomato base and is enough for two sittings. The prosciutto, mozza, arugula hero is perfect if you are in the mood for a light summer meal.“
“Delicious spaghetti lunch special with garlic knots). Several options to choose from on lunch special menu, including subs and fries. I had enough leftover for lunch the following day! Server was excellent. Located in small strip. Loots of available parking.Note: I'm not a big Italian food lover, but Franco's has yummy meat sauce!“
“A Richmond institution. I remember coming here as a kid, and now that I'm back in the city I've really enjoyed getting to come back and done here again.Pizzas are amazing, their dolamdes are fantastic, and I really love the falafel pita.“
“This time around, our server was Melissa and she was just as great as my favorite, Justin. All of our food was great and we had no complaints whatsoever. It was a delightful experience for my bday and we enjoyed it all.Dietary restrictions: I didnt follow my dietary restrictions tonight, personal decision, since it was my bday so I indulged on the greatness. However, I have also eaten here in a dairy free and gluten free diet and our waitress that night was super accommodating.“
“My wife grew up not too far from here, and when she was a kid, she said they came to Sal's all the time. Although not sure when but she said that they have definitely changed ownership since she's been here last. She really wanted one of their cheese pizzas. Even though it wasn't as she remembered and a little different, she said that it was still pretty good. She said that the sauce is a tad sweeter now than what it used to be. I thought their veal parmesan was excellent! I don't know why, but my daughter ended up ordering their chicken noodle soup, but she didn't care for it very much. She did enjoy the mozzarella sticks, though. Service was pretty good, and it definitely has a mom and pop feel to it, and it looks like they have a new bar area that seems to be the new in fashion glowing lights and such. They have quite a few specials that are going on. Very solid pizza place.“
“I can't believe I'm just now trying this place. I was trying to feed a bunch of kids for cheap so decided to come here for a large pizza and 10 wings for $21. Didn't expect it to be so amazing. The pizza was so good. Nice and crispy crust! I got the cheap side salad. It was huge!! Service was amazing as well. I believe Juan was our waiter. He treated my 5 year old like gold! It's now his favorite place and we've only been home a couple hours and he's already asked to go back!“
“So my sister and I were planning on going to another Italian restaurant. Have to read the reviews and searching the menu we decided that the prices were too high and the reviews did not justify the prices. So we went to our old standby Olive garden. The endless salad and breadsticks were as delicious as they'd always been. The soup was good also plus I had spaghetti which I enjoyed very much. The waitress that served us was extremely pleasant and the service was fast no waiting“
“This place is a brand new favorite, the service is exceptional and it’s so adorable inside. There’s plenty of seating, it’s a small place but it isn’t too cramped. There’s also a ramp and double-doors so it’s definitely wheelchair accessible. They also had an array of fresh food and desserts. We brought subs and fried foods as well as a couple desserts, they were all perfect.I found the service was absolutely the best feature, our server Georgia acknowledged the moment we walked in, made sure if we needed assistance at all that she was available, and gave suggestions and input on the items we were interested in ordering. We’ll definitely be back!“
