“Joe’s Out is connected to Joe’s In. Due to my schedule and my time in Richmond to see my son and his family, I’m always heading to Joe’s Out to grab amazing food and of course their fabulous Ice Cream! 9 out of 10 times I’m greeted by Austin, the young man that always smiles and provides you with great conversation and service. I can honestly say that I have never had better food and service from an establishment that caters to those of us that want to get hot tasty take out than Joe’s Out!

“Well researched food, solidly composed cocktails, and a warm interior make The Roosevelt one of the most talked about restaurants in RVA currently. Chef Leah is as much a researcher as she is a good chef. Being a long time food writer who has been on assignment in many kitchens, its no surprise to me that Leah has carved out a reputation for herself in Richmond recently. She sources a lot from local farmers, adheres often to seasonal common sense, and takes inspiration from her reading and research on Soul Food, Southern food, and Virginia food. I wouldn't classify prices at The Roosevelt as cheap but also wouldn't classify them as extravagant either. Marketed by many as a "neighborhood spot" I always see The Roosevelt as a great date night spot, particularly for those who might fancy themselves foodies. Congrats to Leah and The Roosevelt on their recent James Beard nod. In my opinion, well deserved.“

“I always have an excellent meal at L'Opossum. It's the closest thing RVA has to a European Michelin restaurant.

Interior is quirky - sort of a gay Elvis vibe...but it works!

Service is excellent - waitstaff is friendly, well informed, and works as a team.

Food is always unique, and the menu changes up fairly often. Always love the creative names for the dishes! Proteins & preparation very much tilt French, albeit with a modern interpretation. I had escargot and rabbit last night, which were both divine. Have had stuffed quail, Coq au Vin and the Beef Swellington on prior visits, and have never been disappointed.

Cocktails are always good, and I really enjoy their selection of wines by the glass.

Prices are on the high side, but you're paying for the high quality ingredients and extensive prep that goes into each dish.

“We had dinner at Chef's Kitchen tonight, Feb. 21st. Our waiter Ben was amazing, as was the food. We started with the Burrata and Dumplings, both of which were mouth watering and glorious. My greatest fear is that those dumplings will haunt my dreams forever. I could probably eat them daily. I am telling you it was a religious experience. If not a religious experience then possibly a spiritual experience. I believe if Anthony Bourdain ate here he would have something pithy and wonderful to say. Something cultured and refined. For an entree we both had the braised duck gnocchi which was pillowy, creamy, and delicious. We paired the meal with a Cab Franc from barboursville which was decently priced and absolutely sublime. Give this place an opportunity. Eat here. My wife and I both agree that it is the best meal we have shared together in many years. Oh and ask for Ben and tip him well. He's the man.“

“At first we were surprised. We thought it would be more spacious. But we passed the door as the weather was too cold to enjoy the outside seating area. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The staff is very friendly and professional. We dad the burger and both my wife and I were so happy of our choice. It is really delicious. The atmosphere and ambience is perfect for any occasion: after work happy hour w/dinner; date night; celebratory events because the decor is very chic, but not overstated - add white linens to all the tables, and it can be taken up a notch. Great lighting, wonderful hostess and service, and the food... excellent! She-crabby soup is 🔥 (don't share a cup like we did - trust me)! The ginger glaze salmon over risotto- cooked perfectly (not sloppy or runny); lamb lollipops - tender, moist, and the sauce was awesome! We didn't intend to clean our plates, but we did! 🤭😂 We didn't enjoy the fried oysters (too bready and soft), or the roasted bacon brussel sprouts (not chopped enough; too dry - could use more sauce/drizzle to bind it a little more, - chasing each scoop around the plate - not a good look 😆). Overall great experience and will definitely go back because we were sooo satisfied with our meals that we want to try other dishes!! The location just off of Three Chopt makes it feel like a hidden gem!“
