“Joe’s Out is connected to Joe’s In. Due to my schedule and my time in Richmond to see my son and his family, I’m always heading to Joe’s Out to grab amazing food and of course their fabulous Ice Cream! 9 out of 10 times I’m greeted by Austin, the young man that always smiles and provides you with great conversation and service. I can honestly say that I have never had better food and service from an establishment that caters to those of us that want to get hot tasty take out than Joe’s Out!

“Well researched food, solidly composed cocktails, and a warm interior make The Roosevelt one of the most talked about restaurants in RVA currently. Chef Leah is as much a researcher as she is a good chef. Being a long time food writer who has been on assignment in many kitchens, its no surprise to me that Leah has carved out a reputation for herself in Richmond recently. She sources a lot from local farmers, adheres often to seasonal common sense, and takes inspiration from her reading and research on Soul Food, Southern food, and Virginia food. I wouldn't classify prices at The Roosevelt as cheap but also wouldn't classify them as extravagant either. Marketed by many as a "neighborhood spot" I always see The Roosevelt as a great date night spot, particularly for those who might fancy themselves foodies. Congrats to Leah and The Roosevelt on their recent James Beard nod. In my opinion, well deserved.“

“First and formost, this place is where you go to relax and enjoy time with family and friends, and have some food. Waffles and the various mixture of toppings are always a hit. There is a wide variety between sweet and savory, and a few different waffles to try. Thier coffee, milkshakes or other concoctions are good as well. “We had dinner at Chef's Kitchen tonight, Feb. 21st. Our waiter Ben was amazing, as was the food. We started with the Burrata and Dumplings, both of which were mouth watering and glorious. My greatest fear is that those dumplings will haunt my dreams forever. I could probably eat them daily. I am telling you it was a religious experience. If not a religious experience then possibly a spiritual experience. I believe if Anthony Bourdain ate here he would have something pithy and wonderful to say. Something cultured and refined. For an entree we both had the braised duck gnocchi which was pillowy, creamy, and delicious. We paired the meal with a Cab Franc from barboursville which was decently priced and absolutely sublime. Give this place an opportunity. Eat here. My wife and I both agree that it is the best meal we have shared together in many years. Oh and ask for Ben and tip him well. He's the man.“

“What a phenomenal option. My wife and I were blown away. All of the food was exceptional and you can tell the staff both in and outside the kitchen really care about what they're doing. Our server Sara S was fantastic and very friendly devoting time to make conversations instead of rushing through a job. Additionally, culinary director Mitchell came to our table unprompted to check in with us and gave us a complimentary appetizer after hearing it was our first time dining there. He also reappeared toward the end of our meal and chatted with us a bit about his passion for the restaurant and the craft. Truly a great experience.“

My husband had the brisket sandwich which he said was fantastic. I had the trainwrek that was so large and outstanding I couldn’t finish it and have leftovers. -To me it's an intimate venue as you are close to the stage.
-They do have a bar on both levels.
-Parking can be tricky. Suggest arriving early to secure a good parking spot around the area.
-Staff is nice every time.“

I also tried the iced tea, which was really good. The seating on the deck had a stunning view, and the waiters were very nice. I’m not usually a downtown Richmond person—city crowds just aren’t my thing—but I’m really glad he suggested this spot. I made the drive from King William, and it was absolutely worth it! The food was fantastic, and the laid-back atmosphere made it the perfect place to reconnect. I had the pork carnitas with a Caesar side salad—super flavorful, and the pork was incredibly tender. The Caesar dressing? Easily one of the best I’ve ever had. I’d love to know if it was homemade or store-bought, because I need it in my life! Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a relaxed and cool meeting spot. I’m already planning to explore more RIC gems soon!“

“I had the most amazing time there last night! The vibes were great with good food options and I had the most amazing server named Justine! She made me feel like I was the only one she had to serve and went above and beyond for all my needs and the needs for others not even in her section. The hookah was great and the drinks are pretty good and alil strong but I loved it! The food was good I got the wagyu sliders and the parm crusted lamb chops with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese but my only complaint is the Mac and cheese the cheese was a bit curdled and separated from the noodles and didn’t have any flavor but everything else was great!“

“A friends group from our Church went to the Heilman Dining Hall~ our first visit there. The staff was truly amazing ~ each staff member greeted us with a smile as they welcomed us. We were shown where every item was at, explained at eat hot bar what was available & what cook be cook personalized. The staff checked on us periodically through our meals. The hall was so nice that we stayed and visited from 11:00 am~ 2:00 pm we all are going to visit often and tell our family & friends … every food item was delicious. 150 % customer satisfaction“

“I cannot praise David enough for the phenomenal experience he provided us on August 9th. Our group of 7 unexpectedly grew to 11 people on a very busy night and the host handled the sudden change swiftly by getting us a new table. Even though our seating was a bit tight which was entirely our fault for the last minute headcount increase the staff accommodated us graciously and David made the whole evening feel effortless. What blew our minds is that David told us this was only his eighth day serving! As a table full of veteran food industry servers ourselves we were all utterly shocked because David carried himself and paced our meal like a seasoned pro with years of experience. He greeted us immediately kept our drinks and bread coming swiftly and read our table's energy with incredible emotional intelligence knowing exactly when to check in when we needed more time to decide and giving fantastic menu recommendations. He paced our appetizers entrees and desserts to absolute perfection and despite the cramped table space he managed to clear every single plate with total grace and zero interruption to our conversation. To top it all off it was my friend's birthday and David made it genuinely special. She is still talking about how it was her best birthday ever and a huge part of that is thanks to him. Even though it is a 45 minute drive for me including the traffic on I-64 I will gladly make the trip back and specifically ask for David's section because he turned a potentially chaotic large party dinner into an unforgettable night. “I can always get a good large salad here-I love their Ceasar salad. The ingredients are always fresh and tasty. This time I got a cheeseburger, which was juicy and nicely done. The server was very efficient, attentive and friendly. It's a bit noisy, but it was a busy night for them. The prices are reasonable, and the menu has a wide selection.“
