“Came here for a glass of wine, oysters, cornbread, and the crab soup. What an absolutely fantastic experience with the view right there on the water and the dock/pier. Service was super fast and friendly, I had a lovely time. I recommend this place to everyone 10 out of 10 five stars.“

The food was excellent all around. We had:
- shrimp risotto with olives and calabrian peppers
- bao buns
- fois gras
- halibut croquettes

“The meal was delicious and served at the appropriate temperature. The ambiance of the establishment was inviting, and the staff was courteous and attentive. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, particularly the cinnamon swirl pancakes, which were exceptionally delectable. The white cheddar grits were also quite good, and I appreciated the option to create a custom omelet. My husband ordered the French toast and an omelet, both of which he enjoyed. Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to sample the mimosas, but based on their appearance, I believe they would have been refreshing.“

Refills without being reminded and always with a sincere smile. Nikita represents Cracker Barrel with distintion. She always stops by to say hi,even when we are being served by another colleague. I tried for myself and got a chicken sandwich combo and tenders with fries(21$) The guy in front was very nice and polite and the wife was the cook. From the menu I wasn't expecting much and with them being across from the shipyard don't expect huge portions - their clientele are working 10 hours shifts with 30min lunches lol ? . However the portion should fill you up decent . My food was made to order which I appreciated , had I not wanted to wait I would've called it in. Clean but dated environment but again their clientele is ship yard so people aren't eating inside. Again food is GREAT ??“

“I usually call ahead so when I go on lunch I can just grab it, pay, and go. Even if I don't call ahead of time the food is made quickly and tastes fine. $10 for a bacon cheeseburger with a decent amount of fries and a canned drink is honestly the best deal you'll get around here as a shipyard worker, at least in my opinion. They aren't rude, as some other reviews have said, they're just blunt. And I respect that. All in all 4/5 stars and I'll continue to eat here.“

“Wow, glad I did not miss this place. The outside of the building was hideing the amazing staff and food! The beer was good but the food was outstanding. Chicken pot pie was epic, wife had the pulled pork and coleslaw wantons and both amazing. The salted ham on homemade yeast rolls..... Mmmm. The onion rings are a meal on their own. The wedge salad I started with was the best I'd ever tasted and the lump crab dip was amazing. Our waiter was pleasant and helpful. There was only a single minor issue and it was resolved instantly. “I came to se Nick Deez and it was sold out but they greeted us at the door and still made us feel VIP and put us on a waiting list. Meanwhile gave us drinks and provided 5 star service. They got us into the show and their crab cakes are delicious 🤤 To make it all a perfect night, Nick Deez was hilarious and so was Matt Hubbard the entire card was so good!“

“I’m from up north and had only been to a Waffle House while driving down to FL (typical NJ family tradition lol). Now that I live so close to one, I love being able to truly enjoy the atmosphere. The waitresses are always a delight and will keep you smiling. I stop by every so often during walks with my son. He has slept in here and also been in the restaurant smiling the whole time too. I love it.
Recently I got a burger with waffles on the side and when I came home, I used the waffles as a bun for the burger and omg… totally worth it. I’ll have to get a picture next time!“

“We made plans for our anniversary to stay at the Smithfield Inn and Restaurant. The new owner was very friendly and could not do enough to made our anniversary a happy occasion. The meal was excellent and our room was very cozy with fireplace and seating area separate from the bedroom. It was very clean and quiet. Then to top it off we were given breakfast coupons for the near by Gourmet Bakery. The bakery was also excellent. We would stay there again and longer to enjoy the cute small downtown shops. “We stopped for lunch and were surprised how easy it was to get a table. The staff was really nice, our food came out quickly and was appealing. My husband loves the Banzai burger with pineapple and sweet teriyaki sauce. I ordered the smaller tavern burger and it was delicious. 10/10 would recommend“

“We may have sat for over 15 minutes, after being seated, without being seen, once our server/ bar tender got there, he was on point. I wish I could remember his name, cause he deserves some sort of recognition for his work ethic. The foods flavor was good, but compared to the Applebee's in Hampton, the meat wasn't as big, the mozzarella sticks weren't as melted (as if they sat) and the onion rings weren't cooked quite long enough. But, still, a good night.“

So I decided to try the place out, yes tho it may be off to the side and in a hidden part of town to me at least. The Pizza was great took only a little bit for it to be prepared, it tasted delicious, especially for its price. Plan to revisit due to how close it is to the barracks.“
