The entrees were sumptuous; we got the Italian sausage pasta and the salmon. We travel through Charlottesville twice a year and dine here on our way up and back each year. “Decided to visit the city of Charlottesville Virginia with the husband. Found this brewery and decided to give it a try. It turned out to be an excellent choice.

Our bartender Tatum was charming, incredibly knowledgeable about the product and gave us great suggestions. Honestly, their Harringbone NE Hazy IPA is the best I've ever had. With that bright citrus beginning and a smooth ending, it doesn't have the aftertaste that so many hazy IPAs have. I like the fact that they offer a 6 oz pour on most of their beers.

I also had the farro, wild rice, quinoa salad, a tasty blend of roasted veggies, mixed greens, toasted walnuts and a citrus herb vinaigrette, topped with feta cheese. It was very tasty indeed.

“Over the course of the last month or so we have been there three times. We highly recommend this restaurant and have yet to have a bad experience. Contrary to the negative reviews on here I cannot say that we have experience anything stated. All of our food has come out with great presentation and very tasty. The wait staff has always been very attentive however, I will say they are challenged at times due to the amount of staff that they have versus the amount of tables that they serve. Taking that into consideration, our food has always come out in a reasonable amount of time, has always been to temp and we have had no complaints about the food or service at any point. I will stay that people have to be mindful. This is not fast food. The food at this restaurant is made to order and they offer specials every week so if you’re looking for something more immediate, this is definitely not the restaurant for you however, if you’re looking for a well crafted meal then this definitely is a place for you. My boyfriend and I live in DC and eat out quite frequently, and Tavola topped some Michelin star restaurants we’ve tried. We were blown away by the kindness and knowledge of the sommelier and staff, the generosity and talent of the kitchen, and the overall atmosphere and ambiance. Every dish was on point, every service mark was hit, and I could write paragraphs about the wine recommendations. I would rate it more than five stars if I could. “We have lived in Charlottesville for 7 years. While we have only eaten at Petit Pois 4 times, it was the first restaurant we at at when we came up to initially look for places to live and it was the most recent place we have dine out, last night for NYE. It is small and cramped. They can't do anything about that. The service has always been top notch, warm, hospitable, engaging and friendly without being over the top. While nothing we have ever eaten there has been memorable; that isn't a slight. Everything has always been good and of the value that we have paid. A place like this with its' price point need to make good food that is better than what I can do at home and better than a chain or corporate "faux" bistro. Along with the good food and the exceptional service they always hit the mark. Last night was the 2nd time we have come in for a New Years Eve meal. We live within walking distance to the downtown mall and we aren't party animals so we typically don't make NYE reservations and just walk down to the strip and see if we can saddle up at a bar somewhere. Last week my fiancee mentioned that this year she would like to make reservations and go out. I searched everywhere in Charlottesville and the surrounding area and all reservations were booked up. Bummer. So, we decided to do our regular routine, put on decent clothes and walk and see if we could slide in somewhere----our first choice as Petit Pois. We go there and talked to the host to see if there was anything possible available, knowing the probability was low and we were OK with that. The host checked, talked to his folks, came out and showed us to a table. Yes, it was small and it was cramped but THEY MADE IT HAPPEN FOR US. Everything was what we expected. The food was good, the service as great, and the price was reasonable, and we had a nice meal and got home in time to watch the ball drop. Thanks Petit Pois. We will see you next New Years.“

“Great first experience here! The Thai teas are some of the better ones we have had in the area, the service was phenomenal and the food was delicious with generous portions. The fried rice was fresh, with large shrimp, and the pad Thai was sweet but still nutty and flavorful.

“I’ve been to Poke Sushi Bowl a few times now and love it! Such a great little treasure in Fredericksburg. The staff have been friendly and welcoming. I was fortunate to travel to Hawaii last year and feasted on authentic poke bowl at Tamura’s. This place does justice to poke bowls! The free cup of hot green tea is what really won my heart though. They sell the same brand of cold green tea served in Japan and the hot tea was also the same as I experienced in Japan. 🍵 I wish this business the best and hope Fredericksburg shows it some love.“

“Cool spot across from campus. We needed to grab a very quick lunch before starting a history tour of UVA. Thought, bagels are fast....we made the right choice. We each made a bagel sandwich order. Ham, Turkey and a PBJ. Bagels were extremely fresh like someone's Grandma is boiling them in the back. We ate like the locals and will definitely recommend to everyone.“

“This is one of my favorite go to spots in Charlottesville! I always get tonkatsu chicken with spicy green beans, Mac salad, side of sashimi, and a spam musubi. For $20 this lasts me two meals and it is soooo good. I appreciate the fresh ingredients and the number of quality veggie options. Truly some of the best sashimi in town!“

The scallops were perfectly seared, the octopus delightfully tender, and the salmon expertly seasoned and cooked to perfection. My personal favorite was the passion fruit dessert. The staff were kind and extremely attentive, and Chef Will even came out to greet us and inquire about our meal. I can't say enough great things about this restaurant. You won't be disappointed by a visit to Zocalo. It is now, hands down, one of my favorite restaurants I’ve ever been to!“

“This was our first time here man was it good. Nice clean location and the service was great. So nice to walk into an actual pizza restaurant and get hit with the smells of pizza. Most of the places around here, just have pizza as an item on the menu, but not as the centerpiece. I ordered the side Caesar salad was delicious and the spinach and artichoke dip we ordered, was as well, but come on...8 little pieces of bread is not enough for all that dip. We ordered the house pizza to share and it was delicious. This is our new favorite Charlottesville pizza. Paper straws are trash…trash I say, and I will bring my own plastic straws next time.“

“Wonderful experience! Hubby and I visited the tasting room for Valentine's Day. We shared the Reserve flight and Valentine's Wine & Chocolate flight. We took home bottles of four of the eight wines in the flights. The food, corn chowder and a crimini mushroom flatbread, was excellent too. It's all cooked to order & served at the table. Very attentive service. Beautiful setting with sweeping views. I'm so happy that we chose it to celebrate Valentine's Day. It'll be easy to persuade hubby to take me again for my birthday in the summer.“

They have a lot of other less expensive options too but this one we highly recommend. But fear not it is totally worth every penny. You get a full, four course dining experience. The wait staff is five star quality. Our server Kosta. She was absolutely amazing! Best service I have had in a restaurant in years! The food from start to finish was beyond amazing. Virtually unlimited main course. There is zero chance you will walk away hungry. You can mix and match your entree however you like. So it truly is a custom experience for each person. Our server did not rush us at all and made us feel so comfortable, explaining all the options in a very relaxed way. “01.28.25 The beginning of January we had our Wedding Welcoming Party at Random Row in lieu of a traditional Rehearsal Dinner. The outcome was exactly what we were hoping for. It was a laid back and fun environment where 80 of our guests were able to have great pizza and refreshments in a way that brought all of the different families and friend groups together. Cori and her staff from the planning stages until the end of the night couldn’t have been easier to work with and we had great reviews from everyone that attended. They all commented that it was exactly what they wanted and many of the people that were there that had more traditional Rehearsal Dinners for their weddings wished they had done something like what we did. Random Row allowed us to rent out the entire facility for 4-hours at a cost that was very affordable. There were some negotiations during the planning stages regarding costs and operations and even the few places that Random Row was not able to have much wiggle room there was always an attitude of “lets try to figure this out and make it happen.” With that said, they were amenable to most of our requests and budget limits. Without commenting too much on pricing and expectations because those conversations are always unique to each situation, Random Row afforded us 4-private hours and we paid for 2-hours of pizza, salad, olives, and an open bar with our guests opening tabs for the rest of the night. The cost was affordable for a middle-class couple and the experience was worth every penny. We live around the corner from Random Row and have been visiting them for years for a quick pizza and a beer. It has been one of our go-to neighborhood spots since we moved to Charlottesville.
