“There’s rust on the buffets, the food was room temperature and the bathrooms look like they haven’t been cleaned in years. There is so much build up on the faucets and there is dried human waste smeared in the stalls. I left an entire plate of food sitting there because there was no way I was eating food prepared there after I saw the conditions presented to the public. I don’t even want to think about what the kitchen looks like.”

“I held my final Board Meeting of the year at Bartizan the first week of December. I asked that the room be festive and cozy and they knocked it out of the park. The food was delicious with many of my members saying it was the best steak they had ever eaten! Although all of this was great, the best part of the event was the team and staff I worked with to plan the meeting. My Board is still talking about the meeting and how great it was and trust me, that doesn't happen often!”

“Our party of six enjoyed a lovely mid-afternoon lunch on the patio. Service was prompt, very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed several excellent appetizers including ahi tuna tacos, shaved octopus and the best mussels on the planet! Entree’s we enjoyed were Tuna Poke Bowl, Fried Grouper Sandwich with pickled pineapple just to name a couple. All of us enjoyed our visit and look forward to going again!”

“I have wanted to partake in dining at this restaurant and the food looked delish. My experience met my expectations after I had pork belly, blackened catfish and mashed potatoes. I wanted to order the collards but not with tomatoes. I have eaten collards all over the South and have not seen tomatoes..Yikes!!!

The pork belly was tasty but smothered in BBQ sauce which the manager noticed so wasn't happy. My server, Hannah was friendly and helpful with her input.

My biggest negative was the 20% gratuity automatically added to the bill. There's another breakfast gem in RVA which also does the 20% so not a big fan. If the service is good, it's not an issue but when it is subpar, it's not fair to the customer imo.

I am on the fence about a return visit when I will probably return in February.”

“Absolutely wonderful experience throughout. We made a reservation for 2 for our anniversary and loved every minute. The food was wonderful and super easy to cook. They have a QR code with an user-friendly layout to keep track of cook times. Service was polite, informative and patient. Dont be afraid to refill those side items for your dip! Something we didnt expect to be an option for the 4 course meal. The booth was very private with calming lighting. Really felt that we were the only ones there. Will definitely come again. Great for super special occasions.”

“Excellent I’m a known chef visiting VCU in Richmond, Virginia and saw there were great Chinese places. Since 1981 I’ve loved however not found many legit shredded pork in garlic sauce dishes. They nailed it, this classic Sichuan dish . When she placed on the table I had flash backs to Houston Texas the last time I actually ordered the dish as every place did it no justice. If you’ve never tried its spicy, salty, little acidic. Steamed rice has to be and was perfect. I started with a great hot and sour soup and then the green onion pancake. The pancake golden brown, crispy, cooked perfect. The soup a great blend had me sweating. Only negative is I’m from Georgia.”

The owners were so easy to work with and went out of their way to make my mom’s vision for her birthday a reality. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way for all of our guests. “Stumbled upon Way Gone Brewery, what a fun place to taste some local beers, and also play a few games, while you chat and enjoy time together. Would make a great pit stop while in the area. We tried 5 of the many beers, through 4oz glasses at $3.00 each. Makes for a great day date or night date.”

“Menu choice was consistent as in past visits, however this visit was a bit disappointing overall. Slipping and falling while turning the corner to the restrooms was not how I expected to end the visit. While attempting to get up, noticed entirely too much water left on the floor (same as in restroom), and NO "wet floor" signage placed. I alerted a staff member of what happened and that signage needs to be up. Staff needs to ensure to NOT leave excessive water when mopping and throw up signs.”

A true hidden gem that I think most people fly right by on a daily basis. We all got an order of the birria ramen and the birria balls. Both dishes were amazing and I can promise you will not leave feeling hungry. The food was fresh and well seasoned, packed full of flavor, and piping hot. You can not go wrong with either of those two choices. I am ready for a return trip to try the other dishes on the menu! The only real knock that I can give the experience was a bit slow for a work day lunch break, BUT I will follow that statement with there a massive delivery order ahead us that encompassed the delivery driver to take two trips to the car and five bags. I am going to give them a pass for that.”

“I was visit my parents and walked through our neighborhood to get some local coffee and breakfast on a Sunday morning. While I couldn’t sit/order inside because of the dogs, the barista was more than accommodating to take my order from their outdoor seating and bring me my food and drink. I don’t think it was on the menu but I ordered and espresso soda (espresso, club soda, vanilla syrup) and the barista was once again very accommodating and made it no problem. It was super good! I also ordered an egg and cheese on an English muffin which was delicious. Seemed like white cheddar and a soft fried egg. Would highly recommend this local place! I also appreciated how early they were open on a Sunday morning. I paid about $11 before tipping.”

“Habanero Mexican Grill has been my go-to spot for authentic Mexican food for several years now, and it consistently delivers when it comes to bold, flavorful dishes. The food here is absolutely delicious, with rich, vibrant flavors that make each meal feel like a true taste of Mexico. Whether it’s their tacos, burritos, or one of their specialty plates, you can always expect a meal that’s bursting with authentic taste. The fresh ingredients and traditional recipes have always been a huge draw for me.

However, over time, I’ve noticed a few changes that have slightly impacted my overall experience. One issue is that there can sometimes be a language barrier when placing orders, as not all of the staff are fluent in English. This has led to a few mix-ups with my order on occasion. Additionally, I’ve observed a subtle decline in the quality of the food lately. While it’s still good, it’s not quite at the same exceptional level it once was.

Despite these minor issues, I continue to frequent Habanero Mexican Grill because the food remains some of the best Mexican in town. I hope they address these concerns so that they can restore the consistently high quality that originally won me over.”

“What a nice little atmosphere in the Short Pump, Richmond area! We were in town celebrating my birthday and found this gem of a brunch spot! The food was really good and super flavorful. I had a breakfast burrito which had some amazing queso cheese on the top and my partner had the sausage and gravy which was sooo good! Don’t forget to get you an espresso martini or mimosa!! Oh and they have all these fun, breakfast shots to try!! I of course tried the birthday shot and it was super cute!!”

“The food is decent and if you go for the lunch price is ok. The sushi is basic but decent. I have never tried the hibachi so no idea if it is good. The dessert table is worth skipping. The cakes are the driest cake I have ever had.

Their dinner price however is not worth it. They bring out crab legs and a few other things and the price hike is $7. If you have kids who don't care about crab legs, don't go for dinner. Unfortunately they only serve lunch M-F until 3:30. They used to serve lunch on Saturday but recently that changed.

The interior is nice and the decor looks nice. The slot machines at the front entrance are a bit weird.

One area that needs major improvement is the bathrooms. They are straight discussing. In the men's room the floor is always sticky, sinks are broken or leaking, soap dispensers don't work, and overall just needs a major cleaning. My wife says the women's room is the same. The part that concerns me the most about this is restrooms are a public space for patrons. If their restrooms are this bad, what does the kitchen look like where guests never go?

Like most Chinese buffets (and the 3 that were in this exact location prior to closing) they start out really well, look nice, and seem good. But for some reason basic maintenance and cleaning doesn't get done and eventually the place closes and then reopens later under a different name. Why not just take care of the place and have high standards so you're not forced to close? Based on the bathrooms, this place has about 2 years before they shut down and reopen under a different name.

I used to like this place but due to the declining standards I may have to skip it all together.”
