“What an experience! I came from Alabama on a work trip. My fellow employees and I were trying to find a seafood restaurant and stumbled upon this restaurant on a Wednesday. And boy did we hit the jackpot! The food was amazing first off. Second off, we had been wanting to do karaoke and there was a DJ! We sang at the table while we were eating and had such an amazing time. The atmosphere is phenomenal! We ended up dancing on the floor to a few songs before we left 😂 Thank you Hook & Reel for such an amazing experience. The next time we are in the area we are FOR SURE coming back!“

The owners were so nice that they gave me extra because it was my first time and because it was a misunderstanding that I had of the menu. The customer service was superb. The sides were awesome. “You have got to ask for Jay Kim, he is the best server in the house. He was patient and ever so helpful with us as first time hot potters. I had a vegetarian hot pot, well, except for the dumplings. Although they have no vegetarian options, he worked with me and provided me with an alternate option. It would be more awesome for them to add it to their menu tho for those of us who just love veggies. The broth is vegetarian based so it makes sense to have a vegetarian option along with it. We had a party of 8 and Jay Kim made it so much fun!!! The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh. One other option that would have been great to have would be fresh ginger at the sauce bar and mushrooms on the vegetable plate. We were all pleasantly pleased with our food. The ambiance is very nice, low light but more than enough to cook and enjoy each other's company. Jay Kim made sure we always had what we needed. The sauce bar was amazing, so many choices. I recommend making a few bowls, some for the broth and and some for dipping your cooked food. If you get any type of meat, also make a sauce to marinade the meat. You don't have to but it made a good difference. Meats are thinly sliced for quick cooking and again,so fresh. The price was worth the amount of food and the experience. There is an all you can eat option or an a la carte option where you just get one meat selection and a vegetable plate which was more than enough for us as a party of young ladies. This was a great first hot pot experience and I definitely recommend it, just make sure to ask for Jay Kim. I know you will enjoy it!!!“

“This was our 4th time here and we had a good experience. These are not complaints, but things I would adjust: salad dressing was a little tart, Firebirds chardonnay was on the sweet side... ok this is actually a complaint - the beer list is severely lacking for a place with $60 entrees (it's basic, boring, and on-par with big chain restaurants). That said, our server was fantastic. In addition to her professionalism, she brought us another round of drinks (the non-alcoholic ones) without asking. I don't know if that's standard procedure for Firebirds or just her attentiveness, but those little things go a long way. The food was excellent, too!“

“We tried Hibachi Black Pepper Chicken with veggies and fried rice. The serving size was good. And we also tried BBQ Chicken Musubi and I really liked both of the dishes. The Kheer (rice pudding) reminded me of my mom, just the right balance of sweetness. The overall bill was under $25 I think. The lady at the counter was very welcoming and helpful and made our experience even better.“

“In a shopping center so we didn't have any issues with parking.

I feel like this place was more so a take out place than a sit down place. You order up front and then sit wherever. There wasn't any water, silverware, napkins, or self service area. We ordered everything at the counter and they bring it out to you. We did have to ask for appetizer plates but they have single baskets that have some napkins, a soup spoon, a fork and wooden chopsticks. If we asked for another fork, we just got handed another basket. So while the overall experience was a little counterintuitive in my opinion, we did enjoy the food.

They have sodas and bottled water and tea options. We ordered a summer Roll (#2) , the egg rolls (#1) and the crispy shrimp rolls (#5). For our entrees ordered the Special Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (#95), Shaken Marinated Stir Fry (#50), and the Shaking Beef Bahn Mi (at a menu on the counter).

“The most delicious, authentic Indian food served by a most gracious gentleman. The Nan, of which there are several choices, was warm and buttery. The homemade cheese was exceptionally delicious. Another diner had butter chicken and was raving at how tender the chicken was. And the samosas were wonderful. Everything at our table was a 10 out of 10. “I’ve been coming here for years and always had a great experience. They serve some of the best Italian dishes in all on Northern VA. The place is really clean and the staff are very friendly. It seems to be a favorite spot for locals with a very family friendly vibe. I really like their fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and the Pollo Bryan. The calamari here is excellent at well. On Monday nights, they have a large 3 topping pizza for only $11.99 which is an amazing deal for a high quality brick oven pizza. They also have prime rib on Wednesday nights which I love to get too. Whenever I meet up with friends at Giradinos, they all say that the food is great too. I need to try some more of their entrees but it’s hard to when I really love getting what I’m used to. Highly recommend this place if you love Italian dishes, brick oven pizza and some good wine.“

“We have dined at the restaurant several times over the years. Before our experience this visit, I had read some negative reviews regarding service, food quality and cleanliness. I have to say that we found everything wonderful. We had reservations but arrived much earlier than expected to the restaurant. The Hostess was very accommodating and found an open table right away in the room with the Bar. (I would have enjoyed a table in one of the dining rooms better, which might have been the case had we stuck with our original reservation but we couldn't be picky since the Hostess was kind enough to provide us with an earlier lunch !) The food was delicious, served in a prompt time. Our waiter, Zach, was attentive and very pleasant. Even the servers who brought the food from the kitchen to our table were so nice ! My message in this review is "don't base your possible experience on the negative reviews" !!!“

“Amazing and fresh oysters! My sister and I sat at the bar and ordered a dozen oysters while we waited for our takeout order. Bartenders Jim and Brian were amazing, friendly, and great service!

From our takeout order, we ordered a bunch of appetizers, our favorite were the fried calamari and clam chowder soup. Definitely will be back.“

“We came here on a Saturday night and had Angelica as our server. Angelica was fantastic, so nice and helpful (and had incredible nails 10/10). Deborah the front of house manager came by to check on our visit and she was very friendly as well.
The restaurant opened up into the casino, so it was a little noisy but not overwhelming.The portions were BIG and for sure enough for 2 meals, and around $350 for 3 people apps/main/ drink. Would for sure recommend a visit even if just for the Brussels sprouts😂“

“We went for Sunday brunch yesterday and our server was CJ. The bottomless mimosas were served in coup glasses and were plentiful (limit of 5 per person 👍🏻). I had the Huevos Rancheros which were served with breakfast potatoes and the order was big enough to share. The service was quick and thoughtful. I’d definitely recommend Drapers for Sunday brunch. “Excellent evening at the Woodbridge, VA NYAJs yesterday! We were greeted by the manager Usy( I’m not good at names) who was working on clearing tables. We had a couple minute wait for our outside table. There were 3 of us and we ordered drinks and appetizers to share. Desi was our server. She was attentive and cheerful (not annoyingly so). The Bang Bang Shrimp, Potstickers and my favorite Ahi Tuna Wontons were wonderful! Cocktails as well! We all had been regulars up to about 18 months ago as the service was atrocious. So glad NYAJ is back. This is my 2nd visit in a month. Will be back soon. Kudos to the new manager and staff. Keep it up!“
