“I drove by and saw a line so I looked it up and saw a 4.9 rating. The truth is this is a 5.0 and it didn’t disappoint. I had a jerk plate and a lamb pita. It was sooooooooooooooo good. I will definitely be back. I didn’t take a picture of the food because i ate it right away lol. The portion for the platter was so big my husband and I each ate some and then we shared the pita lamb. I ordered on line and it was so fast. Walked in and it was very clean. The team was friendly and I got my food right away.“

“Some of the best halal I've ever had. I've been coming here for over a decade. The owner is an incredibly kind man, the food is delicious, and the price is unbeatable. Highly recommend. In case it's not obvious, this is a food cart, so there's no seating. That's not a negative, just something to keep in mind if you're coming for the first time.“

“This place is a true local gem. Food is of very high quality, and everything is consistently cooked to perfection. Their consistency is actually really impressive - I’ve never been disappointed by a single thing, and I’ve eaten A LOT of their food. But everything is so good, so I haven’t really made my way outside of the same few items from their menu. The difference is that the staff actually care about their customers, and take pride in their food. It’s not so common these days, and is a pleasant surprise. It’s the reason I will always eat there.“

“Delicious smash burgers and shakes! Got the classic (as a lettuce wrap) and the jalepeno with oreo milkshake and cheese fries. The fries come unseasoned - but they have a seasoning station to add it yourself - always measure with your heart!
If you want the fries I recommend just getting the regular fries.“

Stopped by last night and had a great experience. This is a family-run halal spot and you can really feel the hospitality when you walk in. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, and the service was great. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly.

If you’re looking for a solid halal chicken and burger spot with great customer service, this place is definitely worth checking out. I’ll definitely be coming back.“

“I enjoyed the chicken and lamb combo plate. It came with massive amounts of rice and a clay oven backed bread. Loved it. The atmosphere was 3 stars for me due to the crowdedness of the layout. Too many tables and hence too many people in an open area. Also took awhile to get our food. Paid over $20 per person.“

I was really having a bad day, so this energy really made me excited to be there and eat. Ordering with the little gigglemug boy Ikram really made me a happy cabbage. It was just the pang-wangle I need to brighten my day. I ordered a number 3 with medium spice, and might I tell you it was delightful, dare I say near perfection. This is all thanks to my little kadoova Ikram, he really did it special, even going out of his way to advertise me a special drink called a flash in fruit punch slushy. For this hot day, it really hit the spot. This experience at Dave’s was just a 10/10. The food and service was just amazing. Ikram was simply the bee’s knees, the cherry on top for this experience.to have such another amazing experience at a take out restaurant, it would compare to herding cats! “I came to Arlington for a business trip from Atlanta. I've been to the Ballston Food Court several times since I visit frequently. First time at Hal & Als and I ordered the brisket sandwich. the cashier who I assume is the owner was telling me about who he learned to make ribs from down in Atlanta. he was so hospitable too. he asked me to let him know what I thought. I completely forgot. everything was great. halal BBQ is a little different but it blew me away. I'll def revisit when I'm in Arlington again.“

You will find legitimate Egyptian street/comfort food and the staff display true Middle Eastern hospitality & service very rare in America.
