We had an unfortunate situation with another customer who was rather rude and made everyone uncomfortable. Another customer stepped in as did some staff and luckily the situation resolved itself rather quickly. A staff member treated my Mom and I to a donut for each of us and was super apologetic for the unwanted excitement. Besides having good choices for breakfast, they have a nice staff and show that there’s still kindness in the world.“

“Randolphs has been my favorite bakery for years. The recent changes, sub contracting baking of breads, croissants, etc.,have forced me to go elsewhere. They no longer have the cakes, pastries and breads that made them the best of the best. In addition, the once classic store is crowded with displays of cocoa mix and other items that have nothing to do with the shop’s bakery offerings. I will still go in occasionally for challah, but that is it. They should take down the awning describing the shop as a Patisserie. It’s a bakery but not a patisserie.

However, if you're in the mood for something savory (and distinctly non-vegan), their breakfast sandwiches are also delightful. I passed the Clarendon Bakeshop location on my way to the metro station on a Friday morning and decided to stop to treat myself to a nice, warm breakfast. I got their everything croissant -- which is perfectly flaky and comes studded with plenty of everything bagel seasoning -- and added a scrambled egg and slice of cheese. The egg was perfectly soft and fluffy, and the melted cheese helped to bind the whole thing together. You usually have to wait for a few minutes for the breakfast sandwiches, but the space is nice and cozy, and it's a good opportunity to peruse their pastry selections.“

“This is by far my favorite coffee shop. First and foremost, the coffee is super yum, arguably the most important part of a coffee joint. Beyond that though, the staff are super friendly and personable and make ordering a pleasant experience. The pastries are incredible too, and are as close as I've found to an authentic French patisserie anywhere in the area.

The ambience inside the restaurant is lovely with plenty of seating areas and featuring local artists on the walls. The unique part of Roggenart though is it's vast outdoor seating options in a large and quiet courtyard, which no one else has anywhere else in ballston. Love it here!“

“Nothing beats fresh egg tarts. This bakery is tucked away inside a supermarket and it has many varieties of pastries from buns to mooncakes to tarts. They don't look polished, but they do have a more homemade look. Egg tarts were tasty although the crust could be a bit more crisp. I think it's worth coming back to try other items.“
