“We had dinner at Chef's Kitchen tonight, Feb. 21st. Our waiter Ben was amazing, as was the food. We started with the Burrata and Dumplings, both of which were mouth watering and glorious. My greatest fear is that those dumplings will haunt my dreams forever. I could probably eat them daily. I am telling you it was a religious experience. If not a religious experience then possibly a spiritual experience. I believe if Anthony Bourdain ate here he would have something pithy and wonderful to say. Something cultured and refined. For an entree we both had the braised duck gnocchi which was pillowy, creamy, and delicious. We paired the meal with a Cab Franc from barboursville which was decently priced and absolutely sublime. Give this place an opportunity. Eat here. My wife and I both agree that it is the best meal we have shared together in many years. Oh and ask for Ben and tip him well. He's the man.“

“I have been to Caddies a number of times over the last few years. It’s a staple in the area and has been in business for decades. I recently visited since being back in the area, and can’t say enough great things! Holly was off that particular day, and the other new owner was very impressive! Her attention to detail, professionalism, and providing a comfortable atmosphere for every guest did not go unnoticed. The service was fantastic, food delicious, and the experience was inviting and friendly. Everyone was having a good time! Karaoke was so much fun! I’m not even close to being a good singer, yet the crown was so supportive and cheerful. The new touches to the building were very nice. Caddies isn’t just a dive bar. It’s a place where people of any age or status enjoy coming together and share great food, drinks, music, and the feeling of family the staff creates. Thank you Caddies!!“

“The food was absolutely wonderful especially the BLT. The chicken sandwich to me was a little dry and I felt it was kind of overcooked. I will not get the grilled chicken sandwich again. However, my son had the BLT and it was amazing. However, Firebirds is my favorite place so I will be returning.“

The cabbage is crisp and fried like. The peach wing sauce is sweet and savory! Talk about the corn pudding 😩 someone grama stuck her foot in it! “Very bright and well lit, clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a wide selection of items for anyone charged with feeding a family or group. You can stop by, quickly pickup items, and take home for heat and eat. I was tasked with making backup Thanksgiving holiday meal in case a planned gathering didn't pan out. You know how you might get a holiday invitation and you're not sure how it will work out. So, I decided that do it myself. I made my signature dish for the carry along to the planned meal, but I left the extra back home, and I got the 3 lb smoked turkey to go from Honey Baked Ham, and make a few sides at home. After buying a pie and ice cream, I was set. No fuss, no stress. Great way to de-stress for the holiday and have a backup in case your Thanksgiving Invite Destination folks CAN'T COOK! You can show up, he cordial, bring your plate, then go home and have your meal, your way, and everyone is happy. Just my thoughts.“

Due to my schedule and my time in Richmond to see my son and his family, I’m always heading to Joe’s Out to grab amazing food and of course their fabulous Ice Cream! 9 out of 10 times I’m greeted by Austin, the young man that always smiles and provides you with great conversation and service. I can honestly say that I have never had better food and service from an establishment that caters to those of us that want to get hot tasty take out than Joe’s Out!

“First Watch is now our favorite breakfast place to go. It was really bad years ago as far as time to serve. It was so bad we would drive to the one in west end and still be done sooner. After they removed the manager and automated the ordering system, we now give it an A+.“

We had lunch today (1/15/26) and our waitress was Amanda M who was awesome as usual. She is always smiling and attentive to us. She treats us like she would want to be treated. Food was great and hot. She is a rare breed and I know she should be getting a raise soon!!“

The wing/fries were a generous size that I could only eat five wings. Jeanette, Sabrina and Shante were very attentive and nice. I would definitely come back to try the honey sriracha wings. “Capital Ale House is the perfect place to casually eat anytime. We were here for a birthday but we kept that secret from the staff. They had no idea. In spite of that, we still had excellent service from our waiter, PMB. What did the initials stand for? I guess we'll never know. The food we ordered was also excellent. It was a tough dilemma to choose between fish and chips and chicken tenders. But I made a last second decision to get the margherita pizza. It was a good choice. I even had enough left for leftovers. My tablemates got burgers for Monday burger night that were very cheap yet still delicious as ever. The drinks were amazing as well. The Shirley temple tasted more like a cherry limeade but lucky for cap ale, I like cherry limeade more. I never used the bathroom but it's probably safe to say it was good. All in all, Capital Ale House provides an excellent dining experience.“
