“Who would have expected fine dining meals from a small open kitchen (think pizza or sandwich shop style restaurant) with a few tables in a small strip shopping center in Great Falls, Virginia, but Thelo Greek Kuzina’s food was stellar. I could not decide what to get to take home for our family, so got way too much food for four people. Every meal, appetizer, and desert was delicious. we had the lamb shank meal, the New York Sirloin entree, Moussaka, Imam Baildi, lamb gyros, Greek salad, homemade potato chips (best ever), pita and hummus sampler, and more. Deserts were the lemon cake, apricot baklava, sour cherry baklava. Yeah we overdid it on our order, but we enjoyed a smorgasbord of delicious Greek food that made you think it was from a top 10 upscale downtown restaurant. Everything tasted good, but the winner was the steak and all the dips, especially the grilled red pepper dip. (It's a tad sweet with the pomegranate.) We left full and even took home leftovers!2) Drinks: Their menu pulls flavors from the Middle East like the Camillia Kirby, apricot tea-infused negroni that serves two, Sauvignon Blanc from Lebanon, and the Wanderer of Wanda (like a mango margarita). Most tables were reserved for an event that afternoon, but when we told her we could be out before then, she seated us and brought out the menus. We ordered using the QR code on the menus, as that was the only option. I will say, that was the only thing I didn't like. I have having to use my phone for everything and wished I could've ordered in person and paid in person. And then the tip part was unclear and it chose the tip for us (18%). That felt kinda weird...what if I wanted to leave more? But that feels like the same complaint, having to order on my phone.Anyway, besides those 2 things, everything else was amazing. The food was fresh, tasty, and was brought out in a reasonable amount of time. The waiter was quick to bring out water and refills. Dina was sweet and chatted with us just the right amount. “How did I forget to review Plaka?? Plaka is consistently amazing. Fast, delicious and friendly service every single time. I love introducing people to Plaka. The food is always fresh and tasty. Some of my favorite things are the Plaka Gyro Wrap which has Authentic Greek-style pork gyro with tomatoes, onions, tzatziki and fries inside. It's filling but you won't be in a food coma afterwards. I also love getting the plaka bowls where you can choose what you want in them. Kind of like Cava but way better.“

Simple decor and the owner is really friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent - I am vegan and he had no problem using tahini instead of tzaziki in my falafel sandwich, which was one of the best I've had! The prices were extremely reasonable and I am just sad it's so hidden away that people won't just run across it without knowing about it. The food was obviously prepared with care. Portion Size: Portion sizes are pretty good here so you definitely won't leave hungry, and you might even have some leftovers to enjoy later. But I wish they included 1-2 pieces of chicken as there was a lot more rice to chicken. So I decided to build my own bowl. I wanted some extra protein so I did get the chicken which was fantastic and obviously vegetables. Who got falafel on the side and they gave me four large pieces and it was fantastic. The vegetables they gave me Russian everything that they gave me including tax was $15.79. did I not paid extra for the chicken it would have came out to $11.65 plus tax.Out there were not that many people but the atmosphere was good and this is a rather sizable place and it looks very deceptive from the outside. The only other thing I wanted to mention is that as far as the help is concerned I just don't understand for the life of me if you're going to work in a people-oriented business, working behind the counter barely spoke any English and it was hard to convey what I wanted. Nothing against that and what language they speak but you would figure that if you're going to work in a customer service oriented business why would the bosses not want to hire someone who can actually communicate the language and the orders. There was no bearnaise sauce on this version either which is a favorite of mine. Since I don't like salmon, I gave that to my friend who said it was excellent . “Havabite eatery has the best chicken souvlaki and gyro sandwiches in Northern Va. We stopped in here not expecting much but were pleasantly surprised by how good the meals were. Most other places overcook the souvlaki meat leaving it dry but at Havabite the meat was tender and well seasoned and the bread was fresh and the tzatziki sauce was yummy and creamy. The only improvement would be on the baklava, which was on the dry side. We'll definitely be back for more.“
