“I came from northern Virginia 3 hours away to visit Norfolk and we stopped by penguins in my opinion the mango flavor with mango pieces was the best combination out of everything.I recommend this place to everyone in Norfolk either live or visit penguins and they are way better than the slurpee at 7-11 cause they don’t have the natural fruit like penguins does.“

“Not completely obvious from the main road, this little Dairy Queen is worth a stop. The toppings are always fresh, food arrives fast, I've never gotten an incorrect order and servings are always the amount expected or more (at least for ice cream). And this is hands-down ALWAYS the friendliest fast food store staff I have ever met. I don't always get the same person, but whomever is at the window always greets me and has a big smile. That alone keeps me coming back. This must be a fun place to work.“

no trash around. The lone worker was ready to do his job but not friendly. He walked in the office when I entered and only came out when we were standing by at the cash register. No conversation at all.“

“I came to praise this store on their excellent customer service, and I am stunned to see so many negative reviews. I had come into this location this week and was instantly greeted by the nice young lady at the front. I have quite a bit of allergies and it is difficult to find anything delicious AND allergen free. The nice young lady answered all of my questions regarding ingredients and had such a great attitude despite my long list of needs. She even asked me what flavor of Skinny 8 I would like to see next since that is the only flavor I can have at the moment. I think this goes beyond the expectations of great customer service. Unless there are more blonde young women working for this store, I find it very hard to believe she was of no help to previous customers. I was asked how my day was going, if I found everything okay despite our struggles, and was thanked for my business. When I was not being helped, the employee was cleaning, which was great to see amidst the upcoming flu season. I will definitely be returning to this store more often. It is not like me to leave reviews even ones of this length, but I have never felt more welcomed in a store than I have this week.“

“Rita's is my favorite spot for a cool frozen treat on a hot summer day. The ice flight is awesome and great value, you can choose 4 flavors. It was perfect for my nieces and nephew to share. I always get the Gelati with Cherry and Vanilla“

“Had an excellent experience. I was picking up Chinese food next door and found this place about 20 minutes before closing. They let me go get my food and come back right before closing. They were both very kind, explained all the flavors to me. I purchased two flavors of ice cream, a drink and two packaged items. All were delicious and I appreciate her taking the time to talk with me although they were trying to clean up for closing. I will be back soon!“

“I think it’s important to write a review when you have an awesome experience, and today was that day at Dairy Queen. It was really busy today around 8 so I decided to go inside. 1) everyone was extremely safe in regards to COVID 2) the cashier I had (it says Kiera on my receipt) was extremely nice and efficient. I told her I had a hefty order (8 ice creams) and she was able to get everything accurate right off the bat and was just overall so sweet. Awesome job girl👍🏻 3) they made ALL my ice creams so quickly. Like....freaky fast efficient. The woman working the counter made sure I had enough spoons, put all of them in a drink carrier for me and the best part.....OFFERED TO HEP ME BRING THEM TO MY CAR 😱😍 just amazing.
