“I am a fan of unagi (eel), so when a friend recommended Taiko Sushi I had to start with their unagi domburi (eel over sushi rice).
It is simply the best unagi domburi I have ever had in the DC area.
It was $30, but the portion size was generous and it came with several small sides such as Japanese pickles and seaweed salad. I'm glad I didn't buy an appetizer, or I wouldn't have been able to eat it all.“

“We had such a great experience. Lizz was our server and she was amazing!!! This was our family’s first time here and we were celebrating our son for earning straight A’s on his report card. They gave him the most delicious donuts and Lizz made really excellent dish recommendations. We will return for sure!!“

“Delicious food! I went to Mama Chang's after a long hike and this food hit the spot! The staff was great as they were attentive without being overbearing like at some places. Plus I give them extra brownie points because the group I was with showed up a little close to closing time and the staff remained super friendly!“

“We had a wonderful time with Wow as our Guide to street food in Thailand. The small plates, tapas style food was a great way to sample a variety of all very fresh, hot and tasty Thai dishes. We spent 3 weeks in Thailand and this was a great trip down memory lane. Plus, we found Sriracha in their store! Highly recommend them, you'll have a wonderful night with the best Thai hospitality.“

“A cozy spot near the street corner with a pleasant atmosphere. The interior is clean and well-kept, and the staff are warm and welcoming. The pho was flavorful with generous portions—definitely filling! I also tried the summer rolls, which were fresh and delicious. Highly recommend giving them a try if you’re in the area.“

“Bandoola Bowl at Western Market, is a gem for quick and flavorful meals. I frequent the place whenever I run errands nearby and am always impressed. My go-to is the pork spicy noodle bowl, which never disappoints. The roasted pork pairs beautifully with fresh, crunchy cabbage, romaine, onions, tomatoes, red bell peppers, cilantro, and lime. The crispy garlic and fried shallots add a satisfying texture, and the sweet soya sauce ties everything together perfectly.
One of the standout features is the staff—they’re incredibly friendly, chatty in the best way, and always welcoming. They make sure to ask about spice preferences and potential food allergies, adjusting ingredients accordingly, which makes every visit personalized and thoughtful. The restaurant is also impeccably clean, and the service is quick and efficient, so I’m never waiting too long. If you’re looking for a delicious, fresh meal with great service, Bandoola Bowl is the perfect stop.“

“We got the half spicy and house special. Both broths were good but I do think the spicy could’ve used more flavor. The quality of the meal was amazing and service was quick! I’d say though this is a close second to Happy Lamb in Eden Center.“

“This place is a little slice of heaven in Fairfax, VA, not too far from DC. It's a combination of a high-quality Asian street food bistro with a well-curated craft beer taproom and bottle shop. The fresh ingredients that clearly went into the dishes is respectable. Sunny-side instead of scrambled eggs with the fried rice is novel and scrumptious. The presentation of the pot stickers as a giant fried pancake you must turn over or crack apart like a savory Crème brûlée to access the dumpling goodness underneath was fun, if a bit greasy. The beer selection is outrageously good. Highly recommend. And get some beer to go! Clothing and glassware merch in supply, but no stickers.“

“Taste of Asia is a local mom and pop restaurant in Alexandria where my family frequently orders our buffet style party trays from — we would highly recommend the Orange Chicken, Lo Mein, and stir fry options. The portions are generous, the food is delicious, and the staff is always friendly.
Pro-tip: order catering from Taste of Asia — it’s been amazing for us every time“

“My wife and I were looking for a halal chinese spot while visiting DC and this was highly recommended on DoorDash so gave it a shot. Safe it say DoorDash's reviews were right! One of the best chinese food I had in the USA so far. And it's halal. We had the friend rice with chicken, Mongolian beef and beef with broccoli. All of the 3 were phenomenal. All the halal Chinese food I had in the US was sub-par but this is an exception. Will definitely eat at this place again when in DC and highly recommend!
Dietary restrictions: Halal meat!“

“It's exactly what you expect a counter-service Chinese takeaway restaurant to be. The family that is typically present working in the store are very friendly. Prices are typical for the area. My biggest reason for rating this place 5-stars is they serve great vegan options. It's absolutely delicious; I recommend the vegan sesame chicken.“

“Great place! Super friendly, thoughtful and accomodating guy. Good, fresh food. To go bag always has cutlery, napkins, fortune cookies, sauces, and a lil bonus (last time it was an apple)! Cute little table to wait, food made quickly.Great fried rice, shrimp, spring rolls. Lo mein kinda bland.“
“I just really enjoy everything on their menu. Today I tried the wings, it was moist on the inside and just the perfect crunched on the outside. Drizzled with calamansi sauce ... i'm drooling thinking about it. Stop by and try their loco moco, lumpia, or a vegetarian dish!“
“Cafe Trung Nguyen truly impressed us with their mouthwatering pork and chicken grilled skewers at our company meeting! The flavors were so irresistible that not a single skewer remained. The owner and staff exhibited exceptional reliability and efficiency in fulfilling our catering needs. I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to savor their authentic cuisine firsthand!“

“For a little café, it delivers so much! Family run, minority business. Sandwiches cold and hot are really good. Also serves coffee/ tea, drinks, candy, baked goods. Make sure you ask for TWO eggs on breakfast sandwiches since they usually only use one egg. In NY, all breakfast sandwiches standardly are made with two eggs. I'm sure the shop pays high rent and taxes and happy to support a local business in the Inova hospital location.“

“This place is such a great local spot, I used to mostly go to the Han Palace which is nearby but thought I'd try out Eddie's since it's closer to my house. But after going here twice now I can say it definitely will be my go-to spot in the future. The portions for the lunch and dinner specials are VERY generous and give such a great value. Food is delicious and hits the spot when you're craving classic take out Chinese. I highly recommend“

“This little Chinese place down the street is a true gem. It’s our go-to for takeout when we’re craving classic Chinese comfort food. The food is nothing fancy, but tasty and a solid meal.
Prices are super reasonable, portions are generous, and service is always friendly. You can tell they work incredibly hard, and it shows in both the quality and consistency. It’s a reliable spot that fits the bill every time.“

“To the comments giving bad reviews: 1. Who orders sushi for delivery? It’s supposed to fresh. 2. Sushi is always ‘overpriced’ for the amount of food you get. At least this place gives you high quality ingredients. You can really taste the difference. 3. Other reviews complaining about the dining experience really don’t seems to have a developed taste. The sushi is so good that it doesn’t matter is you are just giving “one napkin”. Ask for more. The sushi is delish. The true flavor of the rice and the fish and the extra topping really come out because they don’t douse the sushi in so much sauce that all you taste is the sauce. It really is fresh food as you must sit and wait for the order to be made. You can also observe the owner making it. I was never too much of a sushi fan, but this place has won me over. Also, the owner is a wonderful women. She has a lot of humor and is very welcoming. She likes getting to know her customers and developing a relation with them.“

“I have eaten here for 35 years whenever I'm in the area. I love that Good Fortune is still here, though the owners have changed over the years. I'm so glad that they have vegan options now (as I'm now vegan!). They have all the old school, classic Chinese-American dishes but veganized. Very extensive vegan menu. I highly recommend the mock meat options. I like the sesame chicken and the moo shu vegetable with pancakes (but ask for no egg to make it vegan)!“

“Absolutely extraordinary! Courtside Thai Cuisine is a gem in the heart of Fairfax, VA. From the moment you step inside, you're embraced by a warm, welcoming atmosphere and the aromatic allure of authentic Thai cuisine. The food is a culinary masterpiece, each dish a symphony of flavors harmoniously blending together. The Pad Thai is a revelation, with perfectly cooked noodles and a balance of sweet, sour, and savory that dances on the palate. The Green Curry is another star, its richness and depth of flavor truly showcasing the art of Thai cooking. Service here is impeccable. The staff are attentive, friendly, and go above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is nothing short of perfect. They are knowledgeable about the menu and more than willing to accommodate any dietary preferences or modifications. But what truly sets Courtside Thai Cuisine apart is the ambiance. The decor is elegant yet cozy, providing an ideal backdrop for both casual dinners and special occasions. It's a place where every meal feels like a celebration.
