“Modern day CHEERS! BEST bar in the DMV! AMAZING PLACE! GREAT vibe/bands/staff/food/bar/service, and the most warm and welcoming staff and "regulars"! Remember the show "CHEERS"? Rename it Pete's! "Where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came." Just add terrific live music, great acoustics, and the best dance floor around! Truly impressive across the board - friendly, welcoming and FUN. Pete, Kelly and their team are true professionals; they love their work and make sure everyone feels welcome. Pete personally goes from table to table - when he's not joining the band/playing guitar! Kelly is wonderful, kind, warm, and consistently books the BEST bands around. Bartender Bo is indeed "super cool" and funny. Servers Mario and Andrea are helpful, attentive, efficient, and keep everyone very well-fed. Chef Pete (different one) regularly impresses with tasty appetizers, entrees, salads (Greek is a fave), desserts, and more. More than worth a visit - keep going back! I'm proud to be a regular (OK - groupie/super-fan) and my nights at Pete's are true weekend highlights. Look, I live in Old Town Alexandria, VA, where there are some of the best Italian restaurants on the East Coast but those restaurants do not compare to my Maggiano’s. I seriously have to drive out of my way, Springfield, to get the Best Italian on the East Coast. It’s worth every second. The cuisine inside this Maggiano’s tastes exactly like my Italian grandparent’s cooked it. I frequent this restaurant at least once or twice a week. “An excellent dining experience from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Beautiful decor, stylish but comfortable seating, and just good vibes all round.

All of the food was amazing and so creative, especially the beet tartare which had this vegan egg yolk that looked and tasted like a real egg yolk! The mocktails were really fun too.

Only downside is that it’s pricey for the amount of food you get, but if you’re looking for a more refined dining experience with great atmosphere and delicious food you should definitely consider this place.“

“Awesome spot!! Food was very good! We got the brussel sprouts, Mac & Cheese with bacon, tots, Reuben and the Jalapeño burger. I wish the Mac & Cheese had that cheesy gooey ness to it but that’s a personal preference. It was still super good and we ate the whole thing.
The beer list was extensive! I stuck to their Sour selection and dang they were all so good! My friend had a few different drinks but the one that stuck out was the Peach Cider. It tasted like you legit just bit into a Peach!
The whole staff were welcoming and friendly. The bartender, Joe, (I hope I remembered his name correctly) was great!“

“Best happy hour in DC! Make sure you get the punch at that time - it changes every day. The cocktails are amazing, and they aren't kidding - they have the best bartenders in DC. Went with a group of work colleagues after a conference, and they set the music to our tastes as we chatted. On the second round, our cocktails came in awesome tiki glasses.“

Sooooo great!!!!! Has only improved since we had to move. New setup is incredible and drinks have surpassed the original menus leaps and bounds! GO HERE!

Sets the bar by which we measure all cocktails. Never disappointed, each menu always multiple amazing options. I can count on my hands the number of times i have got a cocktail someplace else and NOT been totally disappointed in comparison.

Ambience is brilliant, lively but not too loyd. Brilliant date night. Service is always wonderful and light bites are incredible.

“We had our wedding at the Commentary on 5/31/25 and we could not be more thrilled with our experience. Olivia Martel and Chef Fran were PHENOMENAL to work with. Anything we wanted, we got. We wanted a low key, chill wedding, and decided on stations and the pasta bar with a plethora of appetizers and the execution was a 10/10. We loved having the whole bar and restaurant to ourselves in Ballston and welcoming guests from across the country and being in the Commentary’s/Westin’s care. They took really great care of us and we couldn’t be more grateful for the most beautiful day of our lives.“

“We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Hive! The room was smaller than a regular hotel (just as advertised) but was so cute and still the perfect size for two people even for a five night stay. The hotel itself is clean and in a great location for walking to all of the DC attractions. The area surrounding the hotel (including the parking deck) seemed very safe, even late in the evenings. We had a “buzz” room and still felt that our room was very quiet, especially to be in a city. The front desk staff were always extremely friendly and happy to help. We were overcharged by the parking deck one night and the staff kindly fixed it immediately. We would definitely recommend Hotel Hive to anyone looking for a place to stay in DC!“

Most of the customers were much better dressed and without a child. Nothing wrong with this, just painting the picture. The staff could not have been nicer and more professional. We were greeted with open arms, sat immediately, and served with absolute professionalism. My food (the fish) was so good I considered licking the plate. They don’t necessarily have a kid’s menu but offered numerous things to make a toddler. I went with the burger and fries. They complimented this with numerous dipping sauces and made the burger to order. The charge was minimal and fair. I always clean up after him as toddlers can be messy and they insisted on letting them clean up (I did it anyway). Restrooms were spotless and the kitchen area you pass was very clean and well organized. It’s a small spot full of big talent. This will be a regular for us. A must dine.“
