“Modern day CHEERS! BEST bar in the DMV! AMAZING PLACE! GREAT vibe/bands/staff/food/bar/service, and the most warm and welcoming staff and "regulars"! Remember the show "CHEERS"? Rename it Pete's! "Where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came." Just add terrific live music, great acoustics, and the best dance floor around! Truly impressive across the board - friendly, welcoming and FUN. Pete, Kelly and their team are true professionals; they love their work and make sure everyone feels welcome. Pete personally goes from table to table - when he's not joining the band/playing guitar! Kelly is wonderful, kind, warm, and consistently books the BEST bands around. Bartender Bo is indeed "super cool" and funny. Servers Mario and Andrea are helpful, attentive, efficient, and keep everyone very well-fed. Chef Pete (different one) regularly impresses with tasty appetizers, entrees, salads (Greek is a fave), desserts, and more. More than worth a visit - keep going back! I'm proud to be a regular (OK - groupie/super-fan) and my nights at Pete's are true weekend highlights. Thanks to everyone at Pete's for providing night after night of great food, music, and community! From the time I make reservations through walking through the front door of the restaurant, the service, the managers, the chef, the food, to serving the BEST ITALIAN CUISINE SINCE ITALY, and cleanliness in the restrooms. Look, I live in Old Town Alexandria, VA, where there are some of the best Italian restaurants on the East Coast but those restaurants do not compare to my Maggiano’s. I seriously have to drive out of my way, Springfield, to get the Best Italian on the East Coast. It’s worth every second. The cuisine inside this Maggiano’s tastes exactly like my Italian grandparent’s cooked it. I frequent this restaurant at least once or twice a week. “On Friday night, 8 coworkers met up for dinner. Service was attentive. I ordered the jambalaya with rice. It came out with a large amount of white rice which was not in portion to the seafood/sauce and I was disappointed that no other side such as bread/cornbread came with it. It was just ok and not too spicy and the rice was between nutty & mushy. I've eaten here several times and will do so again but didn't enjoy this dish.“

“Hands down the best vegan Ruben I’ve ever had. The rye bread was toasted perfectly, the sauerkraut was tangy, the smoked tempeh was a delicious stand in for corned beef, and put together with the dressing and the cheese it was melt in your mouth delicious. “We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Hive! The room was smaller than a regular hotel (just as advertised) but was so cute and still the perfect size for two people even for a five night stay. The hotel itself is clean and in a great location for walking to all of the DC attractions. The area surrounding the hotel (including the parking deck) seemed very safe, even late in the evenings. We had a “buzz” room and still felt that our room was very quiet, especially to be in a city. The front desk staff were always extremely friendly and happy to help. We were overcharged by the parking deck one night and the staff kindly fixed it immediately. We would definitely recommend Hotel Hive to anyone looking for a place to stay in DC!“

“Loved this place. The atmosphere is cozy and whimsical. We had the steak salad, salmon, Brussels sprouts, and chive dumplings - all were fantastic. The cocktails were also on point. Would recommend if you’re in the area. Make a reservation in advance as the location is small.“

“Truly a hiddent jewel south of Old Town Alexandria. If I had been blindfolded and didn't know that I entered the establishment via the parking lot of Belle View Shopping Center I would have thought I was in an upscaled restaurant in downtown DC. This has become our favorite date night spot. Delicious food options and creative cocktails along with exceptional service (Brett) made our evening one to remember. I love a well made Old Fashioned and I wasn't disappointed. The secret ingredient of the quarter branch apple brandy took it to next level. We are looking forward to our next date night already!“

“We had our wedding at the Commentary on 5/31/25 and we could not be more thrilled with our experience. Olivia Martel and Chef Fran were PHENOMENAL to work with. Anything we wanted, we got. We wanted a low key, chill wedding, and decided on stations and the pasta bar with a plethora of appetizers and the execution was a 10/10. We loved having the whole bar and restaurant to ourselves in Ballston and welcoming guests from across the country and being in the Commentary’s/Westin’s care. They took really great care of us and we couldn’t be more grateful for the most beautiful day of our lives.“

“To attend you either have to be a member or a guest of a member, but it is lovely. There is free valet, and the spaces inside are great. I've been a guest foe 2 separate prime rib nights and the food was delicious. The slight downside is that the line for food was long at times. After dinner we grabbed drinks and went to the game room for pool and chess. The architecture and details are exquisite. If you have the possibility to visit, you should!“

“I came to Astor after a long day of work to eat and decompress, and I was greeted with so much hospitality and kindness. I was gifted lentil soup along with a complimentary pastry to eat with my espresso. This experience was one of my favorites. It was such a blessing to experience the kindness of others in such an unexpected way. The falafel pita was so fresh and delicious, the fries were just right. The espresso had such a smooth flavor as well. I’m very impressed and will definitely return in the near future.“

“The best cocktail spot in DC imo. While there are a handful of other good cocktail spots in DC I think what gives this place the edge is the staff. Brian, Chris and everyone else are cool and accommodating. Willing to answer any question that you may have about the drinks. Always ready to recommend something that may suit your taste. Highly recommend the pepperbox cocktail.“

Sooooo great!!!!! Has only improved since we had to move. New setup is incredible and drinks have surpassed the original menus leaps and bounds! GO HERE!

Sets the bar by which we measure all cocktails. Never disappointed, each menu always multiple amazing options. I can count on my hands the number of times i have got a cocktail someplace else and NOT been totally disappointed in comparison.

Ambience is brilliant, lively but not too loyd. Brilliant date night. Service is always wonderful and light bites are incredible.

Brussel sprouts are the best around and the pork belly is beyond amazing.“

“My wife and I had lunch here earlier today and it was awesome! My half-price blue moon burger was excellent. High quality beef that was cooked to perfection. The Wrangler grilled salmon was was not overcooked and ithad great flavor. And my cup of cowboy chili really hit the spot. 😋. We ordered Texas barbecue brisket and another burger for takeout, and I’m sure both of those will be great as well. Thanks Karen for the great service!“

“Just visited for the first time from out of town- what a beautiful space! Indy, the GM, was so hospitable and warm with her welcome, and the hosts/servers were very kind and welcoming.

The margarita was delicious and my husband loved the smoked old fashioned. Wish we stayed for dinner - the menu looked delicious! Will be back next time we’re in DC and want a “VIP” experience“

“What a great place! I arrived early in the morning to watch a Six Nations game that they were streaming (a rare feat for American bars). They had no food, and not even milk for coffee. Just alcohol (marvellous). The bartender very kindly ran out to the store in the middle of the game to get us milk! No funny business, just kind, chatty people who are rugby lovers. Rustic and simple. I’m planning on going every week for a morning Guinness (or a $4 mimosa! Bargain!) 😉“

“We hosted a business reception here following a conference and we were so impressed with the Highline team for being so accommodating and responsive to our group's needs. We pulled the reception together pretty last-minute, and yet the Highline helped us to make the arrangements without any hassle. We will certainly be coming back!“

“Cafe Colline is spectacular. I had a toddler with me, was dressed in an adidas track suit, and wanted real food as we waited for someone working in the area. Most of the customers were much better dressed and without a child. Nothing wrong with this, just painting the picture. The staff could not have been nicer and more professional. We were greeted with open arms, sat immediately, and served with absolute professionalism. My food (the fish) was so good I considered licking the plate. They don’t necessarily have a kid’s menu but offered numerous things to make a toddler. I went with the burger and fries. They complimented this with numerous dipping sauces and made the burger to order. The charge was minimal and fair. I always clean up after him as toddlers can be messy and they insisted on letting them clean up (I did it anyway). Restrooms were spotless and the kitchen area you pass was very clean and well organized. It’s a small spot full of big talent. This will be a regular for us. A must dine.“

He was incredibly knowledgeable about the food and drink menu and was able to give us an amazing sampler of focaccia, pasta, crab cakes, and a Ruben we all shared. He was super attentive the whole evening. 10/10!!!“
