“Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Our room was perfect for kids and allowed our kids to all bunk up together and have fun the entire week. Everything is very accessible at the resort and it is nice to have chairlift access within walking distance.”
“Everything on the menu is fantastic, highlighted by local, quality ingredients and house made sauces and beer cheese. Speaking of beer, theirs are brewed on premises and the brewers' attention to quality and flavor shine though everything. Kids (and adults like me) will have fun in the mini arcade downstairs. When the weather cooperates thier outdoor space is great as well. If you get the chance enjoy a ski movie screening next to a roaring fire while the snow drifts down around you. Have a spicy margarita with house-infused tequila to keep warm!”
“You want ice cream made on premises? You want ice cream flavored with strawberries and blueberries grown by the owner? This place is for you Gets my highest recommendation!”

“Very much enjoyed our dinner on Saturday! The food was creative and absolutely delicious”
“07/29/2025. After 31 years at Smugglers notch we final dined at the pizzeria. A ultimate veggie pie, a plain cheese pie, 2 different smash burgers, wings and various beers. Everyone loved it. We were 6 adults, 7 kids. Staff was knowledgeable of the menu and very nice. Food came in very appropriate amt of time. We will definitely use them again. Prices were appropriate too.”

“Visiting from Wisconsin, our air bnb was right up the highway. Tried on Sunday 10/5 but the line was long already at 7 am. Bought some pies on Wednesday and man, worth it. The pumpkin cheesecake was delicious. Other family members we were with enjoyed the very berry crumble, maple bourbon pecan pie and a very nicely done apple pie. Can definitely understand how these pies sell out so quickly.”

“We had a delicious breakfast at Erica's! They were super busy but still provided friendly and excellent service. We are hoping to stop by again for breakfast before heading back home.”

“If you haven’t visited Kate’s Food Truck yet, you’re truly missing out on a culinary gem! Their house burger is nothing short of phenomenal—juicy, perfectly seasoned, and consistently delicious every single time we stop by. The homemade house sauce? It’s a chef's kiss, elevating the burger experience to a whole new level! And let’s not forget the hand-cut fries! They are crispy, golden, and the perfect accompaniment to that mouth-watering burger. Each bite is a testament to the passion and care that they put into their food. Do yourself a favor and make Kate’s Food Truck your go-to spot for a satisfying meal. You'll keep coming back for more!”
“Robbie's never disappoints. Sharon was great!!”

“Awesome food & friendly staff in a relaxing, hometown atmosphere. We're visiting from Mount Cobb, PA, and are loving this area and the great local eateries. All of our food was delicious, especially the Italian Stuffed Meatloaf Panini!! And the company (a lovely lady who works there but was in for a meal with her sweet son, Warren, on her night off, and sat next to us) can't be beat! We had great conversation, shared some laughs, and she was kind enough to make some more local dining recommendations. A wonderful evening....thank you!”
“Everything was great. Above all, CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN! It’s definitely modernized and well kept. We were in the main building. The pool looked wonderful though we didn’t have a chance to use it. Free breakfast each morning off choices made for us, not a buffet. King bed was very comfortable and chair and footrest next to the bed also great. Television had more channels than I can remember on a hotel television. The location is on the main road that goes into the shopping/dining district but a few miles away so it’s quiet. The beginning of the famed Recreation Trail is a very short walk from the hotel. The Wi-Fi was the best of three places we stayed on this trip. Shannon, the proprietor is terrific. I’ll definitely come back here. Parking is free and close to the building entrance.”

“Good chili at an insane price. What can you do, though, at a ski resort. The chili is found in the cafeteria-like area, not the sit down restaurant. You can't use the 20% epic food discount at the sit down resto, by the way. Lots of cubbies and storage space to place backpacks, shoes, etc. More places to hang things and picnic tables at lower level. Very convenient. As one would expect it gets absurdly crowded between 11-1, so expect to have to hover for a place to sit.”

“Five star experience all around! We stayed in the hotel for a summer getaway and the food was a highlight of our time at the resort. The breakfast felt like a noteworthy brunch and dinner was always well executed. The only oddity was that the whiskey cocktails on the menu were only average despite being marked up and highlighted. When asked to make other cocktails not on the menu, the bartender seemed to enjoy the challenge.
Restaurant staff were an absolute delight and gracious and accommodating. We dined during the week of June 7-11, 2026 and in particular want to mention Rishawn (spelling?) and Chi for great service.
Highly recommend the bistro set menu!”

“Such a beautiful place. Staff just looked unhappy, but service was good. Burgers were very overcooked. Rice Bowl was great. Breakfast sandwiches were very good, churro was okay.”

“Better than getting something at the lodge for around the same price. Our chilli was served cold at first, but once they gave us a fresh one, it was really good and decent size portion. Pretzel bites were also great. The hot buttered pig was a great drink also.”
“PB S'more: New from Ben & Jerry’s (BJ’s) for 2024, this flavor is meant to evoke thoughts of the classic campfire dessert with a peanut butter twist. The base ice cream is a toasted marshmallow that has chunks of peanut butter cups, graham cracker pieces, and marshmallow swirls. By itself, the marshmallow ice cream is a bit boring and comes off as a somewhat bland sweet flavor, but thankfully the inclusion of the signature BJ's gooey marshmallow swirls and other mix-ins alleviates this potential problem. Short tangent, this is similar to BJ's other delicious s'mores ice cream (Gimme S'more). The big difference is the marshmallow flavor shines more in PB S'more as in Gimme S'more it gets somewhat masked by the chocolate cookie flavor and omitted marshmallow swirl. Of the three flavors in PB S'more, I detected mostly marshmallow and graham cracker as the peanut butter cups are not as numerous as the graham cracker pieces and omnipresent marshmallow flavor. Although the peanut butter cups are sparser (there's still plenty) than the graham cracker pieces, when encountered they do tend to be larger chunks (a fair trade-off in my opinion). In fact, I found one peanut butter cup that was entirely intact and not simply a chunk (see picture). My only complaint is that my pint could have used a more predominant marshmallow swirl. The swirl appears lugubrious if it can even be seen at all. Those of you looking for a peanut butter ice cream might be slightly disappointed, but for s'mores lovers, this is nearly perfect. “I cannot say enough great things about the Matterhorn. The food is always a hit, but honestly, the staff is second to none. Rochelle is an absolute dream of a person and we're always so grateful for how kind she is to our son that is autistic. She goes out of her way to make us feel seen and heard and is so accommodating with him. It's a beautiful, beautiful thing to see and she is one of those unicorns.”

“The Cliff House was a wonderful addition to our family’s first visit at Stowe. With part of our group lazing around the lodge and the rest snowboarding, the gondola ride & lunch was a perfect meet-up. We had reservations, but arrived early and the manager readily offered a choice of tables. After reading reviews prior to our visit, we’d almost cancelled and were going to only ride the gondola. Glad we didn’t! The food arrived quickly and was excellent (chicken tenders were kid approved w/ mid rating). We were sure to compliment the manager that her staff provided the best service of any this week at Spruce Creek. While the prices are in line with other restaurants on property, the Cliff House team stands out with their professional mannerism and attentiveness to patrons.”

“Dined here after checking in at the Lodge at Spruce Peak. The kids both got the Tipsy Stix which are rice flour dredged fish sticks. I could tell they were made fresh with huge strips of fresh fish. We got a volcano poke bowl to start and it was tastier than expected. Fish was fresh. Hubby got the fish sandwich which had a different batter than the kids meal tipsy sticks. The trout piccata was good although I could have used a lot more lemony capery sauce. All around very delicious and a good size.”

“We love to visit the Burger Barn when we are visiting Vermont. The Ethan Allen Burger is my favorite, but I do like to try different burgers including the specials they provide.
It's outside dining at picnic tables.
You can bring your own drink.
If you try to call ahead don't bother. No one will answer the phone.
Depending on how busy they are it's fairly quick. Do expect a longer wait if busy.
Overall it's a great burger joint, great view, right on the main road, friendly staff. Ice cream shop close by. You'll definitely find a burger for everybody! Love all the different burger choices!”
