“We were able to sit in the porch, which was spacious and quiet.
Highly recommend the Brussels sprouts appetizer.
Our server, Sam, was super friendly and gave us great suggestions for what to visit in the area.
Great experience!”

“My husband and I ate there last night for our 20th anniversary. He can be very discerning when it comes to his steak and restaurants in general- but we both loved our dinner! Our server Bri was wonderful and we had a great experience- we’ll definitely be back!!”
“Delicious food, made with fresh ingredients. The fact my cousin is the owner doesn't change my review.”

“Intriguing art abounds in every corner of this bar and the plethora of disco balls encourages one to get their groove on. It’s a terrific venue for bands looking to reach an appreciative crowd of live music lovers. Service was friendly and excellent, willing to mix you a grandpa’s whisky sour with Squirt. Not your typical bar fare here with coq au vin over noodles and gumbo that was a standout.”

“Absolutely wonderful service and amazing food. I ordered online for delivery and there was an accidental switch to my order and I got the wrong one, they didn’t hesitate to make it right and they even brought it to me at no extra charge. The food tasted incredible. Wonderful customer service and I’ll be back!”

“Best coffee shop in Vermont. The staff is amazing and so helpful. We happily patronize Capitol Grounds weekly because of the quality coffee, chai tea lattes, and breakfast sandwiches.”

“As the daughter and granddaughter of Vietnamese immigrants, it’s always been difficult to find good pho in rural Vermont, so you can imagine both my excitement and my trepidation to try Pho Capital when I was in Montpelier for work a couple weeks ago. Well, the food was un-pho-gettable! That beef noodle soup brought me right back to my grandma’s kitchen, and they even had crunchy chili oil to add in! All that was missing were some cha gio with fish sauce.”

“This is a beautiful spot by the winooski river, we ate on the outside porch with a view of the river, even saw a mother Robin feeding its young in a nest in the rafters. I had linguine pescatore which was delicious, my partner had scampi e cape sante also delicious but unfortunately both meals were light on the scallops hers had 1, also I have to wonder why some sort of bread wouldn’t be served with these dishes. I did mention to staff after and they offered to compensate which I turned down but was made sure I would be treated next time we’re in the area The staff here are great and service was quick, definitely a place to go”

“What a gem of a spot! Easily the tastiest pizza in town! A higher price point than other places in town and worth every extra cent. The person who greeted and helped us was so welcoming and helpful. They also made a very tasty drink! we got our food to go, but ended up hanging out to play the Godzilla pinball machine in back. Woodbelly was incredibly inviting and has such great atmosphere, friendly hardworking staff, and absolutely amazing pizza!”

“Let me ahare my experience …..the other day I went to Applebees only to find out they do not offer any gluten free foods that I consider truely gluten free so I left and told them I guess I’ll go to THE WAYSIDE., Which I did and had a excellent gluten free meal and they even offered a gluten free pecan pie which was delicious. Thank you Wayside glad that you are so accommodating.”
“We were compelled to visit while walking by based on the delicious aromas coming from the bakery. It is located inside an old home in Montpelier. So many choices. We had the cheese twist, with cream cheese and a hint of lemon. Amazing!”

“I love Vermont. Truly, its beauty is incredible, the brewpub’s fantastic and the restaurants fabulous Is it wrong that Bohemian Bakery is my favorite thing that I “found” since moving here? Annies pastries are AMAZING! I never had a Kouign Amman before here. O M G I’m an addict now.”

“I had lunch with a friend yesterday and was very impressed. The Buddah bowl was delicious! I also tried Dandelion tea for the first time. It tasted surprisingly like coffee in a very good way. They have an great variety of other teas if you want to try something new. The atmosphere is relaxing and quiet. We sat in a cozy room in the back overlooking the Winooski river. I will definitely be returning!”

“First visit since they opened again after the flood. I have travelled the country as a connoisseur of steak, and the 55 day dry aged ribeye was absolutely amazing! In the top 3 steaks I have had in my life, and better than the $250 wagyu ribeye at Emeril’s steakhouse in Vegas. Thick, perfectly cooked medium rare, a simple yet robust flavor profile of butter, salt, and aged beef. The tuna tartare appetizer was phenomenal. The Chicken and waffles with spicy bacon was out of this world. It’s good to know that J Morgan’s is worth every substantial penny”

“Don’t sleep on Indian-Nepali Kitchen— best Indian food in Vermont! The dishes are packed with so much flavor, the portions are generous, and the owners are super friendly! We jump at the opportunity to stop in and try something new every time we are in Montpelier. On one of our visits, my partner wanted a beer, and the owner let him try an imported Indian ale from his own stock. So good! Grab take out, or even better drop in and get the full experience!!”

“Ksherpa has the best biryani I've ever eaten, with generous chunks of tender, delicious lamb. The Tandoori chicken plate was HUGE and perfectly prepared. Naan, samosas, and papadum were all outstanding as well. Even the service was great. I can't wait for my next excuse to go to Montpelier so I can try their other dishes!”

“It's easy to see why this is the one burger place in town! I don't think anyone else can compete.
Soft, fresh buns with delicious meat. Being new to VT, I had to go with the Vermont burger that has the maple BBQ. It was great!
The fries and tots are great as well, and my kid ordered a hot dog and it was HUGE.
The restaurant atmosphere fits the burger place well. Order in the front where there's a large fridge of canned and bottled drinks, and then pickup from a window in the seating area. There's a self-serve table in the seating area with ketchup, mustard, and maple BBQ (which is excellent on the fries) along with water and cups.”

“From what I understand, it's a condensed menu from their main location. Had the al pastor and slow burn. The slow burn taco was awesome. Both very well filled and tasty ingredients. Staff was friendly. Sauces were all delicious, recommend trying them all”

“My husband and I ate here 21 years ago going through Montpelier and loved it. We happened to be going through the Vermont capital again and wondered if it was still as good.
It turned out that it was as good as our memories. Staff were pleasant, service was timely, and the meal was delicious. Hope it isn't another 21 years until we get back here again.”

“Chill spot, major dive bar vibes. No live music at the time we were there but I wonder how they fit in there when they are. Very friendly and attentive bartender, nice patrons and pool tables if there's interest. Just watch your back if at the bar, you may get cued if you're too close. Prices are decent for Montpelier with at least one option that's a $3 draft. Will return if invited again.”

“We stopped by Ondis for an early dinner during our road trip. The servers greeted us with warmth and very welcoming attitude. The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I had shrimp ceviche tacos and my mom had the Halibut. Rich flavor profile, great taste and fantastic combination of freshness!
We usually don't get dessert after dinner, but we wanted to make an exception and give the dessert a try since we enjoyed the food so much. Definitely a great decision we made! I had homemade pistachio ice cream and mom had vanilla. We LOVED it!
I would love to see if I could get that ice cream in our cities too!!! Can you franchise that pleaseeee? :)
Montpelier is not a common route for us, but I will make sure to come back to Ondis to have more of that taste!”
