“Great St. Patrick's day special, "Irish Skillet". High quality, fresh food, absolutely exceptional. Staff was very friendly & welcoming. Excellent, fast service. I will be stopping in to eat everytime I go to VT now on my road trips/pick ups. Very very happy. Thank you!!“
“Our server, Jamie, was fantastic! She was very attentive, friendly and competent. Beer selection is excellent. I love a brewery-owned restaurant that is confident enough in their own suds to serve beers from other great breweries as well. The food was solid with something for all. Would love to give 5 stars but they broke a very important rule. We were there on a Sunday evening where closing time is advertised as 11pm. Jamie brought our check by at 7:36 pm while we were just finishing our meals, that's a minor foul but forgivable. Then the lights got turned up to full brightness. Soon thereafter a different server began putting up chairs all around us and the music was turned off. We were still drinking our beers and somebody was telling us in no uncertain terms that it was their time to go home. It wasn't even 8 o'clock by then, well short of closing time according to their posted hours. This was very off-putting and soured our party of six as we were walking out the door. We gathered to catch up with old friends and each couple had traveled a distance to meet in the middle. We were forced to cut our reunion short to meet someone's personal schedule, not the restaurants. Hopefully this review is taken as constructive and changes are made. Too nice of a place otherwise.“
“This is definitely more of a restaurant than a brewery. It was pretty hard to order a drink if you weren’t already seated at one of the bars or a table. Unfortunately, we were told by the host the wait was only 20 minutes, while after I gave my name and number the text said 45 minutes, and the actual wait was an hour. While we still probably would have waited, a more accurate estimate would have been appreciated so we could have decided. We spent out hour wait by one of the fire pites, which was enjoyable. We were eventually seated inside, where we received good service. The server suggested the $5 Pilsner and it was a solid beer. We shared the cheddar fritters and the dry rub wings. The cheddar fritters were really good, while the wings had this weird, sweet dry rub. I wish that was described on the menu, but the wings were cooked perfectly. I had the pulled pork sandwich that I enjoyed, while my friend ordered one of the burgers rare, but it came out medium to medium well (which seems to be the standard for restaurants in Stowe.) we didn’t have dessert, but the options looked good. Our experience was still generally good here even with the overcooked burger, and I would recommend coming here to eat.“
“The gnocchi dish is mad small. This place is delightful. Fantastic atmosphere. Parking could be better. MAD expensive, but probably worth it.The steak is phenomenal and a solid portion. The lobster is phenomenal and a great portion. The chicken is amazing and surprisingly the fullest portion. The gnocchi is beautiful—REALLY small portion. Like you get...six-ish (6) little gnocchi dumplings (along with veggies and a poached egg) for $34. My wife is half the size of the rest of our party of six (who also aren't big people at all)—she NEVER finishes her meals at restaurants. We were all honestly confused when her dish came out. Needless to say she left hungry.Parking: 6:30pm reservation, lot was filled up.“
“I only had a couple beers and an app but I really enjoyed this cozy spot.Who ever the bartender was the night of feb 10th is a beast. Working super hard with a smile.I will have dreams about the duck wing appetizer. If only it came in the KFC bucket size, I may know what food to bring with me to a deserted island“
“This is a gem. Great service, the food is prepared with great attention to detail and pride and the prices are very reasonable. My wife and I ate here twice during our visit to Stowe having; a delicious wood fried pizza, juicy burgers cooked perfectly with excellent ingredients and wonderful fresh fries, ribs that were terrific on mash potatoes that could serve as their own meal, so good! Tough to go wrong in this wonderful place, a prime example that all the little details separate a chef from a good cook. Well done!“
“We stopped in for dinner during our trip to Stowe. The food was really good. Our waitress forgot our fries and the kitchen had closed, so that was a bummer. She did compensate us though and that was nice. Overall, it’s worth the wait if you can’t get a reservation.“
“Absolutely amazing, if I could give more stars I would. I've traveled and mushroom and Swiss burger was easily top 5 ever. The apps I got was large stuffed tots with peppers and whatever the sauce was fantastic. Perfect balance of happy and healthy food. Would absolutely recommend and will be back soon. Great job“
“Came here for brunch on a Monday morning. The food was amazing. You order at the counter and a chef brings it out. There was no one else there which was nice but the place seemed empty and the temperature inside was pretty cold.We got a quiche, the Reuben and French toast sticks for our toddler. The French toast sticks were a hit with our toddler and I really enjoyed the Reuben. The food came on metal plates. We also got two cookies on the way out. Chocolate chip was great.Parking: Big lot on the side and out back.“
“I went solo on a busy Saturday. I was going to grab a beer and wait by the firepit outside while a spot opened, however, the host was very accommodating for me and helped me nab a stool at the bar within about 5 minutes. The beer menu was great and I ordered the Crunch Wrap. Do yourself a favor and do the same. It's all the great things about a TB one, but with fresh ingredients and CHEESE MELTED ON TOPPP.The atmosphere is interesting because its a bike shop, but also a restaurant. It's almost like Stowe's version of a Nashville Boot Shop/ Honky-tonk, it just works. I am genuinely disappointed I hadn't checked it out before since I'm not a huge bike person, please don't make that mistake too!I noticed on the menu that they do Brunch Wraps and Mimosas on Sundays and I have yet to make the pilgrimage to enjoy those yet, so you my friend, will have to do that for me.Kid-friendliness: Very open and bustling environment with family friendly options.“
“Excellent food and great service. This was a favorite special place from my childhood, and going there as an adult did not disappoint!Dietary restrictions: The menu notes which dishes (including desserts) can be made gluten-free.Parking: Parking at the Green Mountain Inn can fill up quickly, but there are other parking options nearby if it’s full.“
“My wife and I had dinner there tonight for the first time and we will definitely be back. We both had the gnocchi and being a connoisseur of this dish and having had it at other fine establishments this was definitely the best. The sauce was delicious, mozzarella cheese not overly done and the outer edges of the gnocchi a nice crisp to it. The portion size was just right, I could have this dish every night. Bravo to your chef!!!“
“Usually have a great time there. Our first bartender Matt was fantastic. Very personable and made us feel welcome. The second one, Brendan not so much. He definitely did not have the right attitude for the hospitality business. Maybe he was just having a bad day?“
“Prost! 5 stars for the von Trapp Brewery & Bierhall! I had such a lovely time at lunch here! We were thankful to be seated by the large windows overlooking the beautiful outdoor setting. It's easy to picture yourself in Austria for a moment while enjoying their delicious German food! The von Trapp grandchildren were even seated at the table next to us! I really enjoyed the cheddar ale soup and pretzels for an appetizer. I shared a burger with my friend, which was more than enough food, especially combined with the German potato salad as our side. I'm not a huge beer fan, but I did notice they offer many award winning options. I opted for the hard cider instead, which was very refreshing! Reservations are highly recommended. They also offered a complimentary shuttle to take us to and from the von Trapp Lodge, which was much appreciated!“
“We're lucky to have MCs Penalty Box located right next door to Umiak Outdoor Outfitters. It's been a wonderful and consistent choice for our staff to have lunch. Prices are reasonable for the area, and service is prompt and attentive. Overall, MCs Penalty Box is a solid choice for a casual meal in Stowe!“
“Bartender Dave was a really nice guy. Great beer selection. AMAZING wings. Buffalo wings, not too big and had slight a cumin/vinegar taste, but also still had the classic Buffalo sauce taste. I’ve noticed places try to get too fancy with wings these days, the Rim Rocks wings were true to the original style with a nice little subtle addition.Kid-friendliness: Arcade games for kids“
“What a wonderful find! We literally parked the car and a few steps away found what has to be the best restaurant on the street! The staff is warm and welcoming. The bartender is a mixologist. As we cleaned our plates we asked if they were open for lunch the next day!“
“A couple of things up front, one, (which I'm sure would have been fixed had we asked, so I can't blame the restaurant, but we were starving and didn't want to wait anymore) the over easy eggs were over hard and cold, the side of sausage was cold, and the poached eggs were over hard as well. Two, the price of sides is so not worth it, $5 for two sausage links? $7.25 for a side of cheesy fries? The rest of the food, though pricey--but for Stowe, probably about normal--was good. Pancakes were huge and thick, eggs bene (besides the above) was good, there was definitely an eclectic blend of old dishes with new twists, which is always fun, and coffee was hot.I probably wouldn't go again for a sit down meal as we paid $87 for four people, which any way you cut it, is a lot for breakfast, especially considering the first two points. The cashier was friendly, the place seemed pretty busy, especially for takeout, so maybe our experience was a one off, and you experience may be better.“
“We had lovely dinners during our stay in Stowe but the best by far was at the Trapp Family Lodge Dining Room. Let's start at the beauty of the vista where the Lodge sits and continue to the comfortable and pretty dining room, which set the scene. And the piano player just added to the ambience. Our server, Brian, was accommodating and attentive. Our meals -- all different - were beautifully prepared and delicious. Oh, and did I mention we had a high chair person with us. That meal came quickly with the requisite apple juice. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.“
“Exceptional dining experience. We had an early 5:30pm dinner with our 4 year old son and everything was wonderful. The small plates - Skate Cheeks and Rabbit pâté, the entrées - Hen of the Woods Tortelloni and Hanger Steak. It was the best meal. Maria took great care of us. Everything was perfection! Thank you!“
