“If I ever own a diner, this would be a good start. The crowd is easy going, food is good enough and a short way before 8am. I would change the cup to the classic style thoughThe food is okie but I would try the pancake next time. My Canadian bacon with egg is so so. I wish diner would change up a little and use sourdough bread. The steak is a little rough but hey it’s under $15.Service is quick and very friendly. They refil my coffee multiple times and that is worth the 5 stars.Ambiance is clean traditional diner.“

“Love Bent Nail, music is always fun . I've never eaten there so I can't speak to the food. Last night the bar tender clearly wasnt paying any attention to who was waiting for drinks and when they arrived. It took her over 15 minutes to finally acknowledge me. Disappointed as usually thos hasn't been my experience.“

“We ordered 17 sandwiches for a work meeting via email and everything went quite smoothly! All the orders were exact, prices are fair, food is excellent, and customer service was quite helpful. I even had to add an additional 2 sandwiches to the order last minute and it was not a problem at all!The guys at Dessureau Machines were more than thrilled when we ordered with Morse Block over pizza (again!). Thank you!“

“I go here every time I visit my mom in Barre. Excellent food - more elevated than most other options in Barre but still casual. It’s a friendly neighborhood spot filled with regulars. Gives it a familial vibe alongside meal stables like burgers, steak and fries, fish tacos, Mac and cheese, etc. locally owned.“

“So, I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place! With the help of the Owner, we hosted my Aunt's 61st bday at this location, even with about 40 people in the back. It was just perfect! The Servers were on top of it (to say the least), taking multiple orders, providing us with consistent apps for everyone to eat, letting us decorate! Even within the large crowd, they'd find the individuals and provide exactly what was asked for!The food was amazing as well! Hot fries, delicious wings, and tasty burgers!!! They even went out of their way to provide a cute cheese and cracker platter that wasn't on the menu! This place is just wonderful! Please come visit, please witness this great group of people and help support them! They truly deserve it!!!“

“*Reviewing their new location at the former Black Door. After the flood, Hugo's has risen like a Phoenix in its reincarnation upstairs on Main in the old Black Door digs. This feels like a very good match. On a recent Thursday night, out dining with friends, every table was filed, the iconic bar flush with patrons, and live music seeped down from the third floor. The mood and menu seem well matched to the space's speakeasy bones. A bevy of curated cocktails paired with an inviting wine & beer list first commanded our attention, and our server was attentive yet patient as we perused the main menu. There are a number of directions I could have taken, ultimately settled on a roasted cauliflower salad with chickpeas. It was outstanding both in flavor, concept, and quantity. I am still thinking about it two weeks later. My friends enjoyed their meals too, though the steak my friend ordered for her salad came uncut on a side plate, without a steak knife. And another friend nearly finished her fries before ketchup was requested and delivered. But, all in all, a very auspicious beginning for the reinvented Hugo's. We sat in the front room, but peeking into the main dining room I saw a modest amount of tables bundled together. Missing was the velvet banquettes and rich jeweled interior decor of the Black Door, leaving the space feeling a little underwhelming. Perhaps something is planned for the near future to pull it all together. We enjoyed our meals, our company, and the energy of the space. I look forward to returning soon for a date night, tucked away in a table for two.“
