Cozy and well decorated. It's an intimate, though informal, atmosphere. Perfect for a casual date!

The food is top notch. You will have to visit multiple times to try all their best dishes. The soup dumplings and siu mai are obvious choices, but treat yourself to the steamed broccoli and especially the pan fried radish cake!”

“We lived in Laos for 7 years and love Lao food. This is by far the most authentic tasting Lao food that we have found. We especially like their nem khao, Lao style sausages, and their jeow mak lin is the only real-tasting Lao tomato salsa that I have ever found outside of Laos or my wife's kitchen. They have done amazing job with their flavors and indoor casual atmosphere (feels very modern Vientiane chic). They seem to have a hard time keeping their khao piak noodles on hand so if you really your khao piak fix, be sure to call ahead. I have now been to Sweet Rice 5 times and they have never had the khao piak noodles. If you want really good Lao food and can't get over there, you can get your fix at Sweet Rice!”

“Took my mom here for lunch, got the Wagyu burger, mom got the halibut filet (darkened) both of us got sides of fries, I got truffle. Everything tasted great. Our server Javier was awesome, you could see he was working the bar, taking care of others and also helping around. Exceptional worker who should be recognized for his ethic of going above and beyond to make customers feel welcomed. Will be back!”

“This is fun when you want more than just a meal and everybody in your group has a different idea of what counts as a good time. It is very easy to turn a quick stop into a whole evening here because there is always something to do. You go in thinking food first and maybe a couple games and then suddenly it has been two hours and someone is taking air hockey more personally than the situation requires. The mix of food, games, and general chaos works better than it should. That is probably the magic of a place like this. It gives you enough structure that nobody has to make a plan but enough going on that the night does not feel flat. I would absolutely bring the kids here on a energy day, though my son would need a little pregame speech about indoor voice versus arcade excitement and how those are not in fact the same setting. It is the kind of place that can carry a birthday, a casual group outing, or just a random night when nobody wants to sit still. Go when you want dinner plus something to do and do not feel like overthinking it.”

Talking about a great service, my wife order the sesame balls for a dessert. 2 of 5 were a bit under cooked somehow. We broke them a part but didn’t eat them. One other staffs walked by and asked if we didn’t like. My wife told her those 2 seemed like they are not full cooked so we didn’t want to eat them but we are okayed. She then insisted that she asked the chef to make a fresh batch of 5 for us. This time they were perfectly cooked. I was impressed with her and felt very appreciative. I recommend this place if you like delicious food and something quick.”

The torta was delicious the beans weren't refried which I appreciated. And it came with fresh sliced avocado it looked dlike I got half of one medium avocado.

As a single guy, I enjoy the friendly servers that lighten the day and get to know you. The food is consistently good. It's no high class place or special atmosphere, but it's a reasonable, friendly place to get food.”

The handwritten menu makes the place feel friendly and approachable, and I think that because somebody wrote each and every thing, you know they know their stuff! It really shows and I really liked that they had outside seating that's well covered for my dog and fam :) Some taco trucks seem like they slap their food together but TLE didn't sacrifice quality while still CRANKING out orders :) I'm absolutely coming back!”

“I can't believe I've lived in this area for more than a decade and never stopped into Koong Thong Thai Restaurant. What a pleasant surprise!

I'm pretty particular about Thai food, and I have one dish I order everywhere I go: Drunken Wide Noodles (Pad Kee Mao). My philosophy is simple—if a restaurant can make an outstanding plate of drunken noodles, chances are they know how to cook everything else well.

Koong Thong did not disappoint. The noodles were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Every bite had a balanced, authentic taste without being overly salty or greasy. You could tell the ingredients were fresh, and the quality really stood out.

What impressed me just as much was the value. The portions were generous, the prices were very reasonable, and the overall experience far exceeded my expectations. It has that hidden-gem, neighborhood feel—the kind of place you almost don't want to tell anyone about because it's such a great find.

If you've driven by this restaurant like I have for years without stopping, do yourself a favor and give it a try. I'm so glad I finally did, and I'll definitely be coming back to explore more of the menu.

“My friend introduced me to this place yesterday. I never thought in a million years I’d like dipping chips (homemade too) in garlic ranch dressing, but it was delicious. Their French Dip with au jus was scrumptious as well; almost as good as having one in NY. Also, they have awesome garlic fries, they use fresh minced garlic. They even make their mozzarella sticks from scratch. Thanks to my friend, I’ll definitely have to take my family here, yum! 🙉 We had an awesome waitress, very attentive. I guess if you’re a first timer, they let you try their homemade chips for free; it was nice of her to tell me that. Thank you to Shimicka, for making this picky NYers first time dining in, a great experience. I’ll definitely be bringing my family here to try their food.”

“This is our go to spot for teriyaki in Auburn. The staff are so kind and efficient, their cook is super consistent, and their portions kick ass!! My wife always gets tofu+vegetable yakisoba and has never had a problem with cross contamination (not something we can always say about every place, she has some dietary/food restrictions equating to vegan). We love this place :)”

“Staff are kind and happy to do business. I got the two enchiladas combo. The red rice was a little dull, the chicken enchiladas are well cooked but lack depth, beef enchiladas are good but ground beef tastes leaner than you'd expect from fast food. I can appreciate their salsa options. The green salsa is a delicious sweet and spicy that compensates the rest of the dish's qualities. Nonetheless it is a very convenient location and will be a frequent option for my weekend midnight munchies haha.”

They were so good!! I love that they have a excellent rating from the board of health too. This is my new go to Restuarant!”
