I ask the server if it’s a Japanese recipe or Korean recipe, it tasted and smelled like kimchi. I like kimchi but I’m in a Japanese restaurant so I am expecting a Japanese cuisine. The sashimi salad doesn’t taste good at all it even has a bitter taste on it. When I mentioned it to the server she didn’t say anything, I felt ignored. In spite of that I will still eat there ( but will never try again their sashimi salad, not recommended needs to change their dressing) because I love their chicken teriyaki and their deluxe tempura. Especially, mackerel hako sushi was the best of all mackerel that I ate in Canada. Not only the fish, sushi rice was so good! Thanks to these great foods, we could spend the great anniversary! Obviously inspect the dates it was made and don’t buy it if it’s old - have only seen that once. Normally it’s all made recently and looks/tastes pretty good.“

“I've tried many sushi places and Sushi Wara is definitely the best I've tried so far! Their California rolls blow everyone else's out of the water and their chicken karaage is better than dedicated chicken restaurants!

“The sushi is the freshest you will get anywhere and their portions are generous while the price is very reasonable. We've been three times lately and it's always great. The restaurant is a hole-in-the-wall type, so not much they can do to make it glamourous, but it is so worthwhile.

Parking: Its at the edge of a mall so lots of parking, or if you live in Newton Village, very walkable.“

“One of the most luxurious sushi experiences I’ve had. If you’re looking for $7 California rolls, this is not the place for you. This was an experience from start to finish.
I started with the miso soup, which was solid, but the tako sunomono was the standout early on. Perfectly balanced acidity, generous portions of octopus, and incredibly fresh.
Next was the Miyazaki A5 Wagyu Aburi alongside the yellowtail and tuna belly nigiri. Absolutely incredible. The wagyu had an amazing char and melted in your mouth, while the fish was rich, fatty, and velvety smooth.
To finish, I asked the server to recommend a roll and she suggested the Takas Fire Roll. It did not disappoint.

I had the Chicken Katsu, Negitoro and egg roll.

I placed a call at the restaurant to ask for no salad and sauce for my katsu on the side. They were very polite and took care of my needs right away!

The food arrived pipin' hot (Chicken Katsu) The Chicken Katsu was very well made. The amount of outer coating wasn't too much or too little, it was just right enough to leave that crispness with each bite of the chicken. The chicken itself was also juicy as well. I highly recommend this dish.

The negi and egg toro were good, very simple yet perfected dishes. If you want something to top off your meal, I also suggest ordering a side of these small rolls!

Overall, the food was perfect, and it arrived tasting extremely FRESH.
