“This is a favorite out of town escape for us. We live in the heart of Seattle and we love the McMenamins inns and restaurants. This one is so accessible and also a get away for us. We drive up there for dinner and music or a history talk. The menu is great! We had the roasted Brussels, salmon pasta and a wonderful cobbler for dessert. Since we have modest appetites, we shared one order of each and felt happily full. We also like the beer they make , good selection of diverse flavors.“

“Frank's is my favorite place in town to get oysters on the half-shell. The vibe is warm, relaxed, and welcoming. The bread with ash butter and sea salt is a favorite. The oysters are fresh, plump, and succulent. The champagne mignonette is flavorful and delicate so as not to outdo the oysters. We tried a seasonal dessert: nectarine, rose, and pistachio pavlova. Everything is delicious. Finally, the service is impeccable. We always feel special when we are here and we can't wait to visit again soon!“

“I was walking in the area looking for a restaurant to get an early dinner when I saw republic. I don't drink so was hesitant but when I entered I was surprised to see such an inviting atmosphere. The staff were friendly, efficient, professional, friendly, and accommodating. The menu was eclectic with unique offerings. I chose the grilled asparagus which was amazingly good , and the beef tips which were tender and delicious. My friend had a cheeseburger which he said was wonderful, and cooked to perfection. It was served with a generous portion of the best fries I have eaten in years. I highly recommend this place!!!“

We had a 25-person private reception in the back outdoor patio area, and from the beautiful space to the delicious food, it was a truly special experience. Aaron accommodated our requests for some customizations in decor, and took into account all of our food and dietary restrictions beautifully. Even though Surrell specializes in multi-course tasting menus, we chose to do a family-style dinner and it worked out perfectly. Our guests absolutely loved every dish (especially the hors d'oeuvres!), and we appreciate how attentive and friendly the staff were throughout the night. Harry was our main bartender/server and he was wonderful. Thank you again Aaron and team for such an amazing evening!“

“Bummer, been going for years to all of her restaurants. Food is excellent, ambiance is five stars. However, for the first time I felt very unwelcome here. My server couldn’t get me outta there faster. I had two kids with me, but they didn’t act up or anything and we had a 5.15 seating. Our server asked me for my whole order with drinks, and when dinner was over asked me if I wanted my check before she asked about dessert. I literally started thinking “do I know her from somewhere else? And does she not like me for some reason?” I had to ask for my dessert to go, as it felt like she didn’t want me to eat it there. Restaurant wasn’t even full when we left. Will put some space between me and whale wins for a while 😥“

“The food is delicious but such a different experience between lunch and dinner. Menus are different and we were excited to try the dinner menu. We were seated at our reservation time of 7:00 p.m. on a Thursday. It was so loud we couldn't carry on a conversation, other clients were drinking and there to be seen and heard. We ordered an appetizer and 2 entrees. The table next to us was seated after we ordered yet they received food prior to us. Our appetizer never showed so we ate our entrees while they then prepared our compensated appetizer. The atmosphere killed it for us. If we decide to go back for dinner we would definitely insist on sitting in a small back area.“

Their set-up is clean and professional looking (you WANT their food truck in your parking lot); their staff is courteous and friendly; they offered a diverse and interesting menu; and our plates were prepared quickly. Oh, the food... top notch! I had the turkey club, my daughter had the mac & cheese... both with their crispy, delicious french fries. AMAZING!“

They said “award for best chef” and they weren’t kidding. Our appetizers were everything and more and paired perfectly with our signature tasting. It’s so rare to have a tasting flight that I actually loved all the wines in. Took home a bottle of their white from the signature tasting list. Was soooo good!!
Recommend the hamachi and chefs choice of cheeses. The point Reyes bleu cheese was out of this world. Perfect for a light Sunday lunch. Patio was perfect. “My second visit. We absolutely love this place. The food is very good! The service has always been polite and professional. The wine is excellent, I had a happy hour Old Fashion that was really really good. We ordered the bread appetizer. The bread was excellent and the butter with other oils and jams. I ordered the 9oz New York. It was perfect cooked Mid rare. The veggies and fries we seasoned well and delicious. My partner ordered the chicken dinner and really like hers. The chicken was moist and very good. We will be back. We celebrated the purchase of a new house and the staff made us feel good and helped us celebrate.“

“Visited late last year but quite a nice restaurant and I was lucky enough to get a sour style beer I enjoyed along with some decent pizza that I took home all for a fair price. The cost will all come down to how many drinks you're getting though.
Service was also quite nice and pretty attentive, along with being willing to ask about the aforementioned sours.
Outdoor seating isn't anything special but comfortable enough to sit around and chat with friends, worth a visit if you're within walking distance for sure.“

“I spent the better part of three years building an amazing community of friends and people I can easily call Family at this sports bar. There are many incredible regulars here who will always made me feel warm and welcome. Every single bartender at this bar will give you a great pours and excellent service. The owner Loc runs a dart league with four dart boards Wednesday night around 7pm and there’s a large pool table with many rotating players to challenge. They have shuffle board, beer pong and even some video games you can play on one of the TVs in the back as well. Occasionally they host raffles, fundraisers, occasional live music and any Seahawks game is always a good time. There’s a beer garden out front where you can socialize and smoke. Truly an amazing dive bar if you read this far I hope you’re already putting your shoes on and about to head over.

Parking: I’ve seen people complain about parking here but the parking is always a little tough between 6 and 7 when people are getting dinner but spots free up in a minute if you’re patient. I’ve only had to park on the side street one time in three years. It’s also quite entertaining to watch people park from the beer garden“

“Nice chill place. I dined alone, I was passing by to go somewhere else. I was looking for a vegan option which they don't have but tried to accommodate me. I had a cocktail it wasn't bad. The thing I liked the most are the atmosphere and the servers. They also have a power bank you could borrow from a charging station ( i paid 15 dollars which is a bit expensive) but if you are desperate enough you will have to I guess 😉“
