“After having been to Driftwood twelve times I can confidently say it’s the only restaurant in Seattle worth dining at.  Lots of places make claims about freshness and local ingredients, but chef Dan Mallahan shops at the Farmers Market two days a week. It’s not a joke or a gimmick. If you want to eat food grown exclusively in Washington State, that tastes real, then Driftwood is the spot. They serve tomatoes that actually have flavor, delicious veggie dishes, and meat and fish that are tender and juicy. They combine so many flavors in a subtle harmony making each bite you take delightful. Not to mention the killer cocktails.  The vibe is beautiful but chill. The staff are lovely and kind. Everything about Driftwood is real. The food, the people, even the hand towels in the bathroom.  Concerned about prices at a farm-to-table restaurant and getting enough to eat? “Decor is standard ivar’s, so I gave it a default 5 stars. Food is as expected, nicely fried seafood. The Asian lady frying the food seems very on top of things and open to helping the cashier when she has a spare moment. She seems more invested than she should be, so that’s good, right? They also bring your order out to you. I’m used to them calling your name and you have to get your order at the counter. So services is above par for an Ivar’s.

They suggested a glass of wine while I waited for my pizza so I went and had a glass of wine. The bartender was just as amazing as them! The garlic noodles with the shaken beef was 2nd, super tender & they were not shy on the the garlic 🤤 I was skeptical on getting the waffle fries because some places dont make them crispy enough but they were crisp to perfection & seasoned very well. “We had such a great experience at Bahama Breeze that we ended up coming back twice, simply because the food was that yummy. From the moment you walk in, the restaurant feels like a relaxing tropical escape. The space is open and welcoming, with high ceilings, exposed wooden beams, colorful island style murals, greenery, and warm lighting that creates a very comfortable and cheerful atmosphere. It is the kind of place where you immediately feel at ease and want to take your time and enjoy the experience.

The food was consistently delicious on both visits. We ordered shrimp tacos, a veggie burger with fries, and the crab dip as an appetizer. The shrimp tacos were fresh, flavorful, and generously filled, with sauces and toppings that worked really well together. Each bite was satisfying and well balanced. The veggie burger was a pleasant surprise, very tasty, filling, and served with crispy fries that were cooked just right. The crab dip was rich, warm, and comforting, served with plenty of chips, and it quickly became one of our favorite items. It was honestly one of the main reasons we decided to return again.

The drinks were refreshing and complemented the food nicely, adding to the tropical feel of the meal. Service was friendly, attentive, and smooth on both visits. The staff made us feel welcome and gave us space to enjoy our time without rushing us.

Overall, Bahama Breeze is a great choice in Seattle for a relaxed lunch, a casual dinner, or a fun get together with friends or family. “Sometimes it's hard to see this place driving down Rainier, but you can smell the goodness coming out of here. The patio was packed with locals from the East African community, and not a single hipster in sight, so I HAD to check it out. Glad I did. Took home some amazing spicy lamb tibs and it was so good I just had to take my partner here for dinner a few nights later. She was impressed as she ordered what I had the last time, and I had the Keye Wott (which was nice and spicy but not too spicy). Looks to be a family run joint, and the staff just loved that I came back and brought my partner here. Highly recommended.“
