My wife and I made a reservation and got 12 sushi + 18 sashimi and a bottle of sake to share. The food was increadible and came very quickly. There were many tables empty when we arrived and plenty still empty when we left. From the time we arrived to when we finished eating was maybe 30 min. It felt like after we paid they were trying to rush us out, really weird vibe. We sat for another 15 min finishing our water and left, having stayed for under an hour.“

But I am not a fan of the TGIFridays/Bennigans style screaming out by staff to the entire restaurant re anniversaries and birthdays, which happened 5 or 6 times in the hour I was there. It was jarring and obtrusive. I wouldn't want someone doing this on my own special occasion no matter what the restaurant was. The overall noise level was also loud due to all surfaces being hard - concrete, metal, etc- with no fabrics or baffling to absorb noise. But this issue is common to many restaurants these days, unfortunately.“

The pizza is phenomenal, well worth what might seem a higher price. The cheese and toppings were fresh and plentiful. A single pizza could easily serve two, a larger party should consider additional pies. The pasta was fresh, lived up to its billing but the pizza was the winner hands down.

The calamari is whole, not rings, and the breading is bursting with flavor.

Generally, $100 for “pizza” for two (with appetizer and a glass of so wine; before a 22% service charge) would be excessive, however, the overall experience made it quite worthwhile.

With team members who are gluten-free, it was crucial to find a restaurant that offered more than just a basic salad. A Stir exceeded expectations with a full menu of creative, nutritious dishes and an extensive selection of wine, cider, and gluten-free beer. On the morning of our reservation, I received a thoughtful email from the executive chef, Ton, with personalized recommendations. This added such a nice touch and made the experience even smoother for my team. Our reservation was at 6:15, and when my team arrived, dishes were freshly served, hot, and ready—a perfect way to unwind after a long few days at the conference. Dining at A Stir was the ideal way to close out their weekend, and I can’t wait to visit on my next trip to Seattle to experience it myself.
