“Madras Cafe is an absolute gem of a restaurant! The owner warmly greeted us when we came in. He asked if we had ever eaten there before and when we said no kindly explained the menu. He asked our preferences and made personal recommendations for each member of our group. The food was EXCEPTIONAL! I never write reviews but knew instantly I needed to share my experience. The foods were flavorful and the spices vibrant. I have to mention the coffee. If you are a coffee drinker, then you are about to be ruined for all other coffee. It was smooth and rich. Reminded me of French press but better. The prices are reasonable and fits into any budget. The owner explained how each dish was best eaten and shared a charming story about how his mother's cooking influenced the restaurant's menu. I have never felt so welcome and at home in a restaurant. I highly recommend.“

“LOVE this restaurant. I wish it was there when I lived in the area 20 yrs ago. I still get there a few times a year. I really enjoy the blackened shrimp tacos. The service has always been wonderful and consistent. The manager stops by the table a QUICK check in. That small touch means so much!! Yesterday I had the lemon cake for dessert friend's had the gluten free chocolate cake. We were all in HEAVEN!! My second time there a couple years ago we had a server who was maybe having an off day. I talked to the manager on my way out & he was sincere & grateful I had let him know.“

“Rye was one of the definitely one of the better dining experiences I've had in Appleton. I started with a half dozen fresh oysters and a crisp, flavorful wedge salad, and both were outstanding. I ordered the Snake River Farms Wagyu medium-rare, and it was cooked absolutely perfectly with an incredible sear, and rich flavor. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere felt both upscale and welcoming. I'll definitely be back and would recommend Rye to anyone looking for an exceptional steak dinner.“

“Our chief was awesome! We took our 3 kids here for the first time. Our youngest being 6 and he was very aware the big flames might be scary and gave us a good heads up before doing them. Great portions and flavor. Do wish we had gotten just a few more shrimp. Steak was tender and cooked perfectly. All 3 Kids said theyd go back!“

“Some of the best Indian food, I’ve ever had! Great atmosphere and friendly and efficient staff. Huge plus they have live music every Friday and Saturday from some of the finest musicians in Wisconsin. They have a great sound system that is kept at a low volume so the music can be enjoyed without overtaking the room.“

The third was the avoidance of plastic—they used metal containers for condiments, cloth napkins, and paper boxes for leftovers.“

We reserved a room with one of the party packages, which included a ranch hand, pizza, ice cream, drinks, gift bags and arcade cards for each kid, and very accommodating staff. “We visited on a Friday night in July about 7PM & our group of 4 was seated with no wait! 🥳 Each of us has dined at the Red Ox multiple times before & we unanimously agreed that this meal & service were the best we’ve received. Red Ox tops our list of fav classic Wisco supper club experiences! The food was DELISH! We’d recommend you order your preferred old fashion, ask for the sourdough with honey butter [love that they don’t bring it out unless you ask to avoid wasting ❤], the Diablo Salmon, a haddock trio, & the tartor sauce is literal nectar of the gods! SRSLY! We also appreciated the volume & choice of background tunes in the dining room. Special shout out to our server Mady who put the cherry on top of this already memorable meal. Girls with uniquely spelled names rule! 😉“

You have to try the bacon bloody they have every type of bacon you could imagine in it and they make the bacon vodka right here in house. The burgers and the cheese curds were amazing.“

“We took our family to Wiseguys last night at 7:30. There were 14 of us and they close at 8:00. I didnt think we would be able to be seated but they were so nice and told us to come on in. Im sure they were counting on closing on time but we never got any indication that they were upset with us. The service was spectacular and the food equally as good. Just want to give everyone who took care of us a huge thank you for such great service and making our night so fun and enjoyable. We promise to come earlier next time! “This is a hidden gem in Appleton. Not only is the food delicious. The staff is also incredible. They help each other out to make sure you're taken care of, and are friendly and polite.“

“We were here at 3:30 pm, so it was very quiet. I saw someone complain about the cleanliness but it seemed clean to me even the bathroom.

It took quite a while to get our drinks and the waiter kept apologizing. I believe they were training staff at the bar.

As far as seating - plenty for big crowds.

Food - Pre-meal croissant with honey butter.
I ordered ribs with honey bbq, buttered corn and southern green beans. Everything was hot, cooked as it should have been and delicious. Even the corn had a nice crisp. The ribs fell off the bone. My rasp margarita was meh, I've had better.

Husband had grilled sirloin, loaded potato and green beans. He said it was very tender and actually very good. The raspberry iced tea was also great.

“Victorias is by far our favorite Italian restaurant. We have been going there for 26 years. Birthdays, anniversaries, family gatherings. We have not had a meal that was not delightful, and the service is always top notch. If you have not visited, you should put it on your list. If you have been there you know what I’m talking about. You go once and you will go back.“
