“We were passing thru EauClaire and heard many good things about LAZY MONK. We knew we had to try it. The beers were very good. We espeacially liked the Octoberfest ,the dark Bohemian one and the Kolsh. The bartender was on theball to serve and very informative.All of this and Dog Friendly too. We will be back. “Oh, wow! This place! With it being UWEC graduation weekend and since we were staying out near the highway instead of at a downtown favorite, we thought we’d look for good food away from downtown too. I’m so glad we did. We walked in without a reservation and we were quickly seated, though they apologized for the practically non-existent wait. The menu is ever changing and there were short lists for small plates, salads and entrees. We ordered the two entrees that were the most interesting to us, a chicken and ramp sausage with fava beans that also involved whipped herb ricotta with sunflower shoots and the pan seared salmon with panisse and spinach salad. The vinaigrette on the salad was exceptional. The texture of the panisse, perfect. We also ordered the pot de crème and the earl grey cake with cream cheese frosting. The pot de crème was served in a little jar with fresh whipped cream. A+ for both the custard and the presentation. The earl grey cake was subtle and delicious and the cream cheese frosting was laced with orange zest which was perfect with the cake. Our server, Jake, was friendly and efficient and knowledgeable about the menu. 10/10 would return in a different season just to see what the chef can dream up.”

“Great location, great atmosphere. I’ve visited EC several times and have always wanted to come. On a weekend morning, there weren’t many servers, and although the restaurant wasn’t crowded, it still felt quite busy. I ordered brunch and a Margherita pizza. The food was delicious, but there were a few flaws, like the eggs Benedict being overcooked, with no runny yolk at all.”

“What a gem of a place. We were out bicycling and got hungry for some late lunch. Someone told us about this place. So very impressed with everything about it. Got to meet a super nice bartender (thanks Diane), who made us feel at home, made us the BEST frozen pizza that we have had a in a very long time. The place is so well taken care of, both inside and out.

“Went to Johnny’s tonight for my birthday. Kat was our server and she was amazing! This was my first time there, and the food did not disappoint! We had popovers to start! So delicious! Then we ordered the Bruchetta appetizer and that balsamic glaze was just so good! I ordered the Heart of Italy, because I wanted to try all few things and the Chicken Parmigiano, Fettuccine Minelli, and the Parmesan crusted sirloin were all equally (chef’s kiss)💋 Thank you to Kat for the best experience and I promise next time we will try a cocktail!! “The hot pot was so good! Our server was Leon, he took great care of us. He suggested the chicken broth and the miso broth. For the meats we had lamb, beef and chicken. The flavors were super tasty! Leon even made us a fresh dipping sauce that elevated the experience and boosted the flavors. We can’t wait to visit again when we are in town!

“This was our first time visiting your Chippewa falls location at Market on River, and it was wonderful! Before eating, we got to walk through the building which has been beautifully restored and visit the shops. Hubby, the notorious picky eater, had a Wisco Whiz burger and fries and absolutely loved them. I had the brussel sprouts topped with bacon and pickled onions, and that was a meal as itself. Very generous portions which makes the menu items well worth their price, fresh and local ingredients, and the staff were attentive, cheerful, and great about recommending items based on our taste preference as well as encouraging us to try new items. Thank you for the wonderful dining experience - we’ll definitely be back!”

The lady, tanya, who served me at the drive thru window each time, was a great example of how customer service should be! She was polite and patient each time I ordered. The room had the perfect setup allowing for ease at getting food and drinks. Our bartender Hannah was great!!”

“WOW, was this good! I'm a Chicago girl, and grew up with gyros running through my veins, and this was just right! I requested grilled onions, which were perfect atop a blanket of gyros atop a bed of rice. There was a side of a bean puree (maybe chickpeas/garbanzos?) that was so good I could have eaten a bowl of that, alone! The falafel was perhaps a bit dense in texture (personal preference, not a criticism!), but the flavor was terrific, and the sauce was so good you could bathe in it! The owner's wife was flying solo this Sunday but, despite that, food was done in a completely reasonably amount of time, especially given the falafel was fried fresh to order, as were my requested onions. She couldn't have been sweeter, confirmed to me that the rice is Basmati, falafel mix was made that day, kept apologizing for the delay (truly, a 6-8 minute wait for fresh-to-order food is nothing; I've waited 20-25 minutes at Burger King in Black River Falls! Yikes!). The prices were super-reasonable, and the quality of everything was excellent. Consider me the newest fan, and I encourage visitors to Oakwood Mall or folks who live nearby to visit; we need another good Mediterranean option in Wisconsin, and these guys are terrific! I make chicken shawarma all the time; looking forward to my next visit to Eau Claire to try theirs, as well as those Mediterranean fries I keep hearing so much about!!! “Yesterday my wife and I celebrated our 37th anniversary here for dinner I had the baked ziti, my wife had the shrimp and scallop Alfredo both were outstanding, the salad was very good but the breadsticks were not as good as I have had them before, we both had margaritas mine was strawberry and my wife had a mango and both was excellent, our server I do not remember her name but she told us that she did not know much about drinks because she is 18 really did a A+++++ job getting our food she checked on us several times, Olive Garden gave us a free dessert because of our anniversary which we did not know about but we ordered the donuts with raspberry sauce and they was very good, we love the food so much that we ordered a extra meal for $6 each to take home for another night we both got spaghetti with meat sauce, the prices was very reasonable and we made sure we tipped our waitress extremely well since she made sure we had a great dining experience I recommend Olive Garden for any special occasion”

“I like this place a lot. The only problem I have and that's my own personal problem is that I do not like water street or the downtown barstow area at all. Mainly because of parking, there are many places. I would love to go to on water st and Barstow area But I am not gonna waste my time trying to find a place to park. “It was our first time at Sammy’s. Hubby and I wanted something quick and simple and affordable. I had always wanted to stop for the salad buffet. We ordered the lunch special which is the personal pizza and salad bar. The salad bar was good but if I had my way, I wish it had greens and not shredded iceberg. I’d pay a dollar or two more for that. 😂 But it was still good and fresh. The waitress was SUUUUPPPEERR friendly. I asked her recommendation for pizza and she said the primo which is what I ordered. It did not disappoint! What I noticed immediately that it was REAL sausage chunks. Not the cheap pellets you sometimes see. Also I saw that there was sausage evenly distributed to ensure you get a piece of meat at every bite. Most places don’t do that and it drives me nuts. The crust was thin and crunchy which I loved. There was a good sauce to cheese ratio. If you want something affordable, stop at this great mom n pop restaurant. They even have take home frozen pizzas. No cardboard pizzas here. We will be regular customers when we crave pizza. Yumm!”

“Upon my recent visit to Mueang Thai, I found myself grappling with a blend of highs and lows. While the food was undeniably impressive, the overall service left much to be desired.

The wait time for our meals was noticeably prolonged, which can be frustrating, particularly when hunger is building. Additionally, the lack of drink refills during our dinner only compounded this feeling of neglect.

However, the food itself was a standout. Each laab dish we ordered was well-crafted and bursting with flavor. It was evident that great care had gone into the preparation and presentation, making the culinary experience quite enjoyable.

In conclusion, while the quality of the food was exceptional, the slow service overshadowed the evening. I hope that Mueang Thai can improve on its service side to complement its culinary strengths in the future.”

I was able to order right away, I didn't order a beverage. At 1:00 the couple behind me sat down, at 1:05 the couple behind me ordered. At 1:10 the couple behind me got their order(S) I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and was solo. I had other oligations going on I had to get to, I figured it wouldn't take that long for a chicken salad. As I got to the festival foods doors, The manager came out of famous Dave's and yelled, "Don't you want your food?" 😂 ....Yeah I sure did but not 40 minutes later sorry not sorry. She told me I needed to contact customer service. I did do that this morning, and the reward points were added to my account. The team members that work in the stores need to be empowered to take care of an issue such as this. I only got the pho, the flavor tasted very OG but overall decent with decent portions. Didnt get any toppings like bean sprouts, basil, or lime not sure if that normal but I am ok with or without always just a plus.”

The only issue was the order accuracy, as I ordered one regular crust and one thin crust, but got 2 thin crusts which played with the cook time of what I thought was the regular crust because I initially cooked it on a higher level in the oven. It really does make a difference at which level you cook the different crust styles, people! Anyway, it all worked out in the end and we had a very enjoyable pizza experience!”

To put things into perspective, the location I went to previously (before moving here) would take approximately 15-20 minutes from order placement to being handed my order. “Awesome bar that has completely outlived its longtime reputation as a trouble spot. I started hanging out there about 10 years ago because I could always find a good pool game. Before I actually went there, I had always heard about Bullpen's rough reputation. Much better bar and crowd than I anticipated. Still, it was a little rough for my taste. Especially on Friday & Saturday nights. Over the past 6 or 7 years, Bullpen has completely transformed that image from olden days. This is now the only bar that I frequent. Ping & Michelle; the owners; are fantastic people who care about their customers & employees like family. I am proud to say that they are now close personal friends of mine. Drinks are the best value in town. The crowd that hangs out there is diverse and some of the best friends I have ever known. Always a diverse selection of sports on the multiple big screens. Always great music being played by a customer base that knows their music. Finally, my main motivation for going there. hands down the best pool tables in Eau Claire. Well maintained tables and a variety of pool tournaments throughout every week. If you avoid the Bullpen because of an oudated reputation for being a trouble spot, it's your loss. Personally, I can't imagine a better place to hang out, listen to good tunes and shoot some pool. Hats off to Ping & Michelle for being awesome owners and great friends.”

“We came in about 12:30 and Shawn immediately greeted us. There was a very long line of 6 people in front of us plus us 4 and he was working very fast and hard to get through everyone. We were surprised to see him working alone during the busy lunch time but he was very friendly and helpful and didn’t make anyone feel rushed. We greatly appreciated him and will be back specifically because of how awesome he was. Some other guy did come and help but wasn’t as nice or friendly as Shawn. “I want to compliment the fine staff at this Starbucks. On a Friday evening a few weeks ago, my children and I were about to leave a nearby restaurant on our bikes when my 8-year-old daughter fell, hurting her leg. I was trying to comfort her as she sat on the concrete crying when I noticed a Starbucks employee approaching us from across the parking lot. We weren't even customers, but she had spotted us through the drive-thru window and wanted to help. The employee (whose name, unfortunately, I don't remember) guided us back to the store and offered my daughter some Band-Aids and a cake pop, which rapidly turned her tears to smiles. It is these little acts of kindness that make the world a better place, and I want to make sure this employee and her co-workers get the credit they deserve!😄”
