“There were so many compliments from the guests about how good all of the menu items were-from the entrees, to the vegetables, to the dinner rolls. The staff who took care of setting up, monitoring, and cleaning up the buffet were friendly, attentive, and professional. The catering manager was very easy to work with and maintained great communication throughout. Saz’s team really made a difficult day easier by preventing any worries about my dad’s funeral memorial lunch.“

“My husband and I had our wedding at South Second on Saturday and I can't say enough about the service from start to finish! Michelle was excellent to work with. She was very friendly, accommodating, and prompt with responses, including days she may not have been in the office. We worked with Katie on the day of our wedding and she was just as wonderful! Very friendly, accommodating, and efficient. We had our ceremony and reception at South Second and opted to have the guests sit at their tables during the ceremony with a few rows of chairs that lined the aisle for the ceremony. All of the service staff was just as friendly as Katie and Michelle. There was one gesture that says a lot to me as a venue and how much they really do cater to their customer and make sure they are having an spectacular time. Right as we were seated for dinner, the chef brought out a gorgeous board that contained 2 servings of all our appetizers that were served during cocktail hour. Such a small gesture, but so meaningful. The bartenders were amazing the whole night. Making sure to serve guests as quickly as possible, including remember some guests drink choices, which again, is such a small thing, but goes a long way. We received so many compliments on how gorgeous the venue was, how delicious the food was, and how kind and accommodating the staff were. I would recommend South Second to anyone who asked! Thank you for all you did for us, we had a perfect day and your services were a big part of making that possible.“
“We had a great experience last night. Food and wine pairing was outstanding. Staff was very friendly! We have dined at many fine dining restaurants and we had a few critiques: the courses and wine were a bit rushed (they sat down our new wine when we weren’t done with the previous wine, I had to chug a few wine tastings), they didn’t give us spoons with a broth course so we drank from the bowls, and I didn't like we had to pour our own water. If you are going to charge fine dining prices then you need to offer fine dining service. I think the food could compete with the best of Chicago (Oriole, Alinea, etc) but just need some work on the service part to get the whole experience top notch. These are just little things that I’m sure will be improved when they move into the new space! We will return!“
“Press served their delicious waffles at our wedding on 9.24! They were a huge hit!! Our guests loved the waffles and their super cute vintage trailer! Emily was great to work with as well! We also love to grab Press at South Shore Farmer’s Market, they make the best Belgian waffles and have great topping options!“
