“8/9/13 We rode into Monticello and came across the Boar's Nest. It's been in business for 50 years according to the stepson of the owner Gerri (deceased). The son's wife was bartending. His wonderful elderly mother and current owner were at the bar with good friends. They had free popcorn and a jukebox full of country and rock classics. Okay, it's not "fancy", but the hardwood floor and bar made the place cozy. They're only open Friday and Saturdays. Their can beers were Old Style, Bud, Bud Light and their bottle selection was Blatz, but when in Rome or Monticello just roll with it. For a $1 a Blatz why complain, right? On 9/14/13 (Saturday) they are going to celebrate their 50 year milestone with FREE beer, accordion music, yodeling, and a well known local musician later in the evening. We hope to be there!“

“Walked into the Eagle Pass Saloon while on a Sunday drive, looking for a burger and a beer - and had one of the best cheap bar burgers of my life. The staff was friendly, the few assorted regulars were nice and chatted with us about the game on TV and never made us feel like outsiders in their small town bar, a common problem at many small town watering holes. We were served our drinks by the affable bartender and given menus. Me and my girlfriend had only come for burgers so we didn't look over the other items on offer too thoroughly, but I did see items apart from burgers; such as ribeye, fish, Philly, grilled chicken, BBQ pork, and turkey sandwiches. The burgers were cheap and huge. $3 for a burger, $3.50 for a cheeseburger, $4 for a bacon cheeseburger, $5.50 for a double cheeseburger, etc. we ordered three cheeseburgers between the two of us, thinking that at $3.50 apiece they wouldn't be very substantial and would leave us wanting. We also ordered some pretty standard issue waffle fries and some delicious hand dipped cheese curds to round out our calorie bomb meal. When the burgers arrived we felt pretty d*** having ordered 3 of them. They were huge; with thick slices of super ripe tomato, grilled onions, iceberg lettuce and pickle spears. I'd say they were close to the 1/2 pound mark, weight wise, my girlfriend thought maybe 1/3 pound. They appeared to be hand pattied and were well seasoned. All in all, some of the best bar food I've had in a long time, at a super cheap price. As I recall, I believe our bill came to $21 for 2 beers, 3 cheeseburgers with the works, and a big basket each of waffle fries and curds. Great deal, great place, great food! Definitely going back some future Sunday. Oh, it should also be noted by Yelp that this business is mis-categorized as a hair salon, not a Saloon/Bar and Grill.“

“Great food great service! I had the ribeye and it was well seasoned and very tasty! The place was hopping on a Saturday night! I enjoyed the brief menu, always feel they focus on what they are good at. Friend had prime rib and loved it and enjoyed the molten lava cake for dessert!“

“It's my local! We moved to Belleville August of 2021, and I adore this place. Was made welcome almost immediately. Great food, great people. I strongly suggest any of the burgers, the Reuben when it's 'in season' (starts at St Patrick's day, goes til they're tired of making it), Thursday night nachos, Wednesday s'ghetti. Biscuits and Gravy that can make a Southerner cry (happily)! They don't take cards, but there's an ATM in the corner. Lots of alcohol choices to boot.“

“Top notch food!!! My husband & I are foodies. We like trying restaurants and to eat out --here in Wisconsin and also when we're traveling. We had deep fried lobster tail and fried brick cheese curds for appetizers, a veal parmesan sandwich for him and Kristi's House Salad with salmon for me. Tasty, fresh, high quality. I had my favorite Arnold Palmer drink and we sat outside. Great Location with the bistro sitting a little higher than street level..good views of the town of New Glarus downtown. It's my new favorite restaurant closer to our home.“

“Food was EXCELLENT! I had the chicken alfredo pizza (with toppings and cheese all the way to the edge!) So good. The husband had the ribeye sandwich and sweet potato fries. The sandwich was great and fries delicious! Crispy on the outside and tender and moist on the inside. They had a great honey mustard to dip in. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back!“

“Our family has spent many days and hours at Sugar River Lanes since Rob & Marcia Bloxham took over ownership. They are amazing kind people who share their passion of bowling and building community relationships. Staff are very friendly, clean and fun atmosphere, good food & drinks, updates are looking great. Rob has been the youth & high school coach for 2 of our boys for over a year and can’t say enough about him!! We’ve spent fun times enjoying our date nights for featured bands and entertainment. Wood lanes are fun to bowl. Overall Highly recommend!“

“We absolutely LOVE Kennedy’s! We discovered this place when we moved to New Glarus in December of 2016. Sheri makes THE MOST DELICIOUS sandwiches and she and Kennedy, her daughter, always give my son special attention. Again, GREAT burgers and sandwiches and the BLT is the BEST; tons of bacon that’s well-cooked!“

I rarely thank the kitchen....but tonight I was compelled to stick my head in and thank them! “Swiss Alps has been our family go-to restaurant for years. When my mother became disabled they always saved the first booth for her. When she passed, then later when my husband passed the family gathered at Swiss Alps. The owners and staff have always treated guests like family, and the food has always been the best. I highly recommend Swiss Alps.“

“We dropped in for an appetizer and beer before leaving New Glarus to return home. The atmosphere of the place was nice: warm and friendly. The bar tender was very attentive. We had Spotted Cows and fries which were good. The outside dining area was a comfortable place to relax.“

Service was great, atmosphere was inviting with all sorts of cozy spots to eat, and the food was amazing! The two of us each got a quiche of the day and selected different ones so we could try both. They were soooo good!Afterwards, I had a hard time selecting one of the many delicious treats for dessert. Everything looked so inviting, and I wasn't disappointed with my choice. “What a great place. I spend alot of time eating at Culver's. The people are amazing & very helpful. The food is always yummy. My only wishes are that they would give you napkins at the drive thru & not push your spoon all the way down in my Concrete mixer when I get it. Otherwise life is good. “Ok so before I say anything, let me get this straight-best hidden secret in Wisconsin by far. When we walked in we were instantly greeted and seated. We noticed that they where fairly busy and low staffed, but they had no problem getting us food and drinks right away. When I ordered a second root beer, the bartender told us that it was on her, thanks to Barb (the bartender). I am not a mac and cheese kinda girl, but the brisket mac is absolutely amazing, and the cheese curds are a must try. The ambiance had a small-town bar and grill vibe. New favorite restaurant in Green County.“
