“Max's is cute and cozy. We arrived after dark and onsite parking consisted of maybe four spots (not sure if you are supposed to park on the highway or across the street once that fills up). It is out in the middle of nowhere so be prepared to have zero cell service. Our waitress was great!!! Very friendly and checked back in with us at the appropriate times. The bar made a perfect brandy old fashioned. My husband had a pizza and enjoyed it. My mom and I each ordered the Friday fish fry (beer battered haddock), and it was pretty good.I guess I don't understand the pricing for the fish fry since it wasn't outstanding or generous in portions, but I guess maybe since they are out in the boonies they can charge it due to lack of competition. But, they do need to consider that for the same price one can have fish fry at Wissota High Shores Supper Club and have a massive soup & salad bar included. Just a thought . . .“
“Phills Bar is a great small town bar where I am pretty sure everyone knows each other. I am sure it's a stop for out-of-town folks to stop in for one and done, however, their food was really great. Higher quality and cooking than most small bars. Don't let the atmosphere throw you. Enjoy a great burger or their shrimp special and a nice cold one.“
“We just stopped by chance, and we are so thankful we did. The bartender Fernando was EXTREMELY knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly with a light-hearted dry humor. We were a bit indecisive on what to order for drinks, But Fernando went out of his way to ask us what flavors we like and prepared us original drinks that we were very impressed with. We live about an hour away, but we will certainly go out of our way to visit this establishment again.The room is full of ambiance and atmosphere. Modern and clean. Beautiful room, fantastic patio, plenty of parking in a nice paved lot, well maintained restrooms, comfortable seats. I wish I could give more than five stars.“

“Yum! Yum! Yum! We went there after dropping off our daughter at camp. It's just a small, Backwoods bar and grill, very down-home, small-town feel. It's a really great little place. We had the fish fry and the combination appetizer. So good! They were short staffed, but still had yummy food, got our orders right, knew what drinks we had, very impressive! The fried fish came out piping hot! Fish cools down really fast, so as a Mom, I'm usually eating lukewarm or cold fish. This was super hot and super good! The appetizer was amazing too! Definitely want to go back again!“
“Holy cow, talk about one of the best burgers I've ever had. Fresh meat from the local butcher shop, burger done to perfection. My sister loves medium rare and it was perfect. I prefer medium and it too, was spot on. We made sure to spread the word to our friends from Chippewa Falls.“
“Just visited Linda’s Lakeshore bar/grill as we do every time we visit Chetek. It is taco Tuesday and the tacos were very good. Just good home style tacos with your choice of soft or crunchy. The Bloody Mary was delicious and our bartender Deb was a hoot with a fun personality. Very attentive in her own special way. ? Had a great lunch with friends and family and will definitely be back.“

“Have not been back to Potato Lake or TJ resort since late 70s as I lost my brother and great fishing buddy to cancer. However, each time we stayed at this resort we brought home great memories and some large bass. Others seemed to only troll for large muskies and asked where we caught the bass...we would respond "out there in the lake".We stayed in the Comanche cabin and always competed on who got bit most by the Wisconsin state bird...the Skeeter!! Hope to get back some day as looks like changes have been made and times were simple fun.“
