“Great location. Seems like its being managed well. When my now wife worked at a different location, she'd always take off those god awful effing tree branches attached to the spinach leaves. So when I get them now, I tend to judge a bit more. I'm just spoiled is what I'm trying to say.. But yeah they need to do something about leaving the whole plant on the spinach leaf. Steams on jalapeños and banana peppers too. I understand it's how it's delivered, but you don't put out the tomatoes how they are delivered, right? You prep them. So just prep everything. Treat it like someone is paying you for it. Cuz they are. ? Okay I'm making this into a bigger deal than it needs to be. Because it's a universal subway issue, not just an issue with this location. So yeah over all, fun and kind staff, clean, and well managed.“

“The staff is always very friendly and very easy to talk to. Very understanding. I brought a person asking for food into the establishment, and afterwards found out they had been hustling customers for food on the regular. The employee discounted my sub for not knowing what was going on. That generosity afforded a large tip. Clean establishment with good music playing too.“

The app doesn't give a description of what's in a sandwich, so I went to the store first to read what they have in it. The food was good, the dining room is super tiny. Seating sucks. “Talk about an impressive sandwich(s)...this place takes you right to a deli buried in the CT to mid New Jersey seaboard or big city in between. They make their own perfect bread which is as good as any I've ever eaten, EVER. The cookies the meats, oh and the veggies are of superior quality even for being out of season. Fresh bright CLEAN surroundings very small cozy easy access to anything downtown. Walk, bike, some tight parking probably because of a brisk drive thru business. The owner is obviously a refugee from a big eastern city it's too uncanny. Surreal almost. The single BEST by far big or small sandwich shop I've been in since the last time I had a seriously great sandwich in NYC or even better North Jersey. Roast beef turkey chicken an impressive array of Italian themed temptations...the cookies they make onsite from scratch are to die for. Of note, the employees he has are a stellar lot too. They care about your experience and aren't afraid to show it. Solid SIX of five stars. If you don't go here you're missing out. It's worth any ride from Madison or the surrounding area 30-45 minutes out. My daughter was right. DAD you gotta try dis place here in town!! “Wow - what a pleasant dining option at the Memorial Union! It offers both made to order sandwiches and salads as well as grab and go items. I was totally impressed with the quinoa black salad I ordered for lunch - excellent mix of textures and the flavors of the components complimented each other. There are no tables at Carte to dine-in, but its not difficult to find a table elsewhere in the Union (Strada, the Rathskeller, the Terrace).“
