Will agree with other reviewers, the portions are amazing for the price. We split between 3 of us lamb shank, chicken suqaar, beef suqaar and the goat. The food was quick to come out, super flavorful, and the hot sauce is to die for, so much so, that with all the good food we had left over (and there was lots leftover), we packed that to go as well 😂.
If you are craving some amazing Somali food, this place doesn't miss.“

“MEAT served a very filling mebi I had a brisket sandwich with coleslaw and could barely finish. And for dessert I had a cherry coke float which was exquisite! Service was excellent! A very nice place to hang out with your friends on the patio.“

“IMAGINE THIS. Tasty BBQ is indeed, unscrupulously, indubitably, and definitely tasty. Who would have thought that the literary meaning of the title of this restaurant has the ability to accurately portray the descriptive nature of the food the restaurant serves to its client base. The bbq pork was definitely fire, just like literally every single bbq place in this area, they are all very good which is crazy because consistency between a non-continuous and presumably unrelated slew of restaurants is impressive in and of itself. “We had Smokehouse BBQ serve at our school fundraiser, and they were absolutely fantastic! Not only was the dinner delicious—seriously, some of the best BBQ we've had—but their team went above and beyond to make the event a success. When a couple of our other food trucks canceled last minute, they stepped up without hesitation and even went out to grab more product to ensure everyone was fed. Their professionalism, flexibility, and incredible food made a huge difference, and we’re so grateful for their support. Highly recommend them for any event!“

“I picked up the $20 bbq meat special for downtown dining week which included your choice of 4 types of meat. I choose bbq pork x 2, roast pork and chicken. My favourite was the bbq pork…it was delicious! The lady working was very pleasant and served up a healthy amount of freshly cut bbq meat. I work downtown and will definitely be stopping here to pick up food more often!“

“My family's go-to BBQ place for years and years! Fresh, delicious and great value. We usually buy just the meats and bring them home to eat for dinner, but today I got a rice lunch box for the first time because I was on the go. Boy was I amazed by how much meat came with the lunchbox!!! For $12 you can choose one kind of meat. It comes with a generous portion of rice on the bottom and a whole layer of BBQ pork! You can also get the Chasiu on your rice, which I highly recommend! The sauce is sooooo good (when I was younger my mom would have to stop me from putting too much sauce on my rice ^_^ )“

“I’ve been here 3 times within 1.5 month because I love the Katsu as it is always fresh and crisp. The restaurant owner was very nice and her crews also very friendly. Today I tried the chicken instead of pork and it was very delicious too. You can have 1 time refill on the salad and soup that is so great. Worth your dollars and they also have buckwheat noodles that fits the summer weather to cool your off from the heat. Will keep visiting 👍🏻“

“Such an enjoyable experience, highly recommend this restaurant, starting with the hostess, so welcoming and catered to our requests. Waiter was so knowledgeable and had the best suggestions, to many to list. Drinks were amazing, Bartender was full of energy and was fantastic with his customers. The Food, Outstanding! “I was looking for a new place to get barbecued pork because I'd always gotten it at the Lucky Supermarket, but every time I went, it seemed like they were always closed, so today I went to check out something different.
100% best BBQ Sausage EVER ( pretty sure the links are in house made with a custom spice blend and they are LEGIT)best BBQ Pork I've had in Edmonton in a long time, we tried without the sauce first, and the meat is seasoned perfectly, I find a lot of places use the sauce as the only flavoring for the meat.But this meat definitely has a good flavor even without the sauce. The people working were so kind and helpful, we went 1 hour after opening and they were almost sold out of the sausage (for a Sunday I'm not surprised next time I'll go at opening and buy lots) cute little BBQ shop reminds me of my favorite BBQ shops in Downtown Vancouver. The place is an older building but very clean, i spied into the back kitchen and everything looked pretty good like I said, older place, so of course it doesn't look new but everything was definitely washed and well kept. A lot of pride was put into this product and i'm very appreciative of it. Totally recommend for anybody searching for a good place to buy chinese barbecue.“

I come here when I want to get my fill of salmon sashimi. Everything else is pretty great too. Only thing I have to say is the grills are a little on the cold side. My meat ends up getting not a crispy texture. It is almost like boiled or steamed lol Anyways still tasty! I understand maybe they can't have the grill to hot because of smoke.

“Wow! Great food and great service. We had one of the platters and it was very good. Lots of variety and it was very tender and flavourful. The staff was super friendly, answered all of our questions and made some really great recommendations. Portion sizes were very big and the platter was a great size for our party size and we had a good amount of left overs. Definitely recommend this location and we will be back.“
