“Outstanding ! We almost left as the wait looked long. But a lady leaned in and said “it’s worth the wait”…. It was Valentines Day Evening and I said to hubby we’d probably have to wait everywhere. “Came here for the first time, we asked our phone the nearest place for pho. We weren’t disappointed. We had the A1 appetizer plate, rare beef pho and the bun bo hue. Outstanding! In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, “I’ll be back.”“

“Fast, friendly and personalable service. The space is clean and efficiently designed. I ordered the Beef Satay by recommendation and it was amazing. I like Bahn Mi, but always find it a little dry. The bahn mi was perfect. I ordered shrimp toast for something new. It was great. And the iced coffee was delicious and exactly what I expected.

As for the coffee they do have a proper single group la marzocco espresso machine. So if you like coffee you don't have to shy away from ordering one.

“We make a point to come to this restaurant every time we are in town. Ms. Jenny and her staff are always warm and greet us with great hospitality. We consistently get the no. 16 and are rarely disappointed. The appetizers, salad rolls & green onion cakes are super fresh and delish. Vietnamese cuisine is very simple but requires great care and love to execute well, we believe this restaurant puts the greatest care and love into their broth and cooking. To be completely honest, the pho was mid (mid being used in the sense before the way it is currently used). It's probably the low to middle of the pack of pho in Edmonton but not to say it's bad. Overall, it was ok and maybe we just went on a bad day.“

“IMAGINE THIS. It's like minus 40 degrees (it was -10) and it's lunch time. This place is banging if banging was the movie rating of How To Train Your Dragon. So good. Banh mi's are like $6.50 and very tasty if tasty was the movie rating of Interstellar. This place is literally the top 5 banh mi's I've ever had and definitely the cheapest. Cannot recommend this place enough if enough is the movie rating for Bladerunner 2049.“

“This is my first time at this location. I wasn't aware they have been opened over three years here. The place is very clean and organized. We were politely greeted once we entered. The staff and owner are very pleasant, making sure we order the correct items. The soup is very hot and tasty. Good portion sizes as well. Very nice place. Will definitely be returning.

“If you’re craving something truly delicious, Pho Hoan Pasteur (Mayfield) is the place to go! Their phō are out of this world. So full of flavour and comfort in every bite. I’ve tried many dishes, but #16 on the menu is hands down my absolute favourite. Spicy and delicious. Every time I have it, I’m reminded why I keep coming back. Highly recommend giving it a try if you haven’t already, you won’t be disappointed! 😋😋😋“

“This place is fantastic! I’ve been ordering my Chinese Vietnamese from them for years and they serve consistently delicious food. Typically, I ordered the beef chow mein, a chicken dish like curry chicken, a veggie dish and some green onion cake. I don’t order anything spicy… Super fast service even if they tell you it’s going to be a long time it always arrives much sooner. I’ve never seen the inside of this place so I can’t really rate the atmosphere but I ate in a lot of Asian restaurants and this one is in my top 10 faves for sure. I can easily make 3 meals out of half of this, sometimes 4.“

“Came in for Chinatown dining week. Had the pho with tapioca dumplings and spring rolls plus an iced coffee.

The broth was very light but beefy. The beef rare and really tender. The dumplings and spring rolls were my favourite though.“

“If you're craving authentic Vietnamese bột chiên, this place is a must-try! The dish tastes just like the ones you'd find in Vietnam (as per my husband cause he’s Vietnamese)—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and full of flavor. On top of that, the owner/server are incredibly friendly and accommodating, (my hubby accidentally spill the hot tea in the table but they’re kind enough to help us clean it) making the experience even better. “Pros: The selection is good, food is fresh and kept topped up. The restaurant is clean. Good neighborhood compared to downtown. Cons: They no longer offer garlic by the sauces. We were not offered drinks or water refill. The soup was almost dry and we’re not offered more broth. I even saw the next table get their own broth to fill themselves. There were 3 of us and the bill came to $99 dollars with no tax. The woman’s toilet seat was frozen! The owner reminded my teen son (not us) that there is a 1.5 hr limit. There is a sign on the wall to say stop wasting food - I never started wasting food! There’s less rude signs that mean the same thing. Overall we’d go back because of the food and value. We have low expectations on welcoming service.“

“I’ve had the opportunity to visit this place multiple times for lunch. I’m into the soups. But I have seen the and tried other options. First off consistent great broth and great presentation. They hold the recipe for a great soup. There vermicelli bowls are also top notch as well. My Favourite is what they do with the beef balls. I will continue to come here But I would love to see you guys do an upgrade. You have what it takes to have a more updated trendy establishment you need to get your soups more exposed and out there. I’ll still come regardless though. I would consider this an Edmonton gem and worth a shot. Pls consider the limited staff when busy. It’s and older environment but is clean and welcoming.

Since changing management Pho Express Riverbend has declined in eat-in service. After serving the meal, they do not come back and ask how the first few bites are or check in if we need anything else. In addition, we have to ask for a water refill. We thought this was a one off time but it is now consistent each time we dine in. The food is good, that’s why we keep going back.“

“One of the better places I’ve been to for a great bowl of Pho; also enjoyed the spring rolls and green onion cakes. Very clean, good portions, quality tasting food and awesome staff. It’s in my old neighborhood and easy access off major routes of 50th Street and Baseline road. A good addition to the Capilano area, we will most definitively be back. Go try it for yourself.“

I have only ordered delivery so I can't speak to the restaurant experience but the food is delicious!

The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because the meat comes frozen for the Pho soup and it cools the broth right off.

“This place has amazing food. We live west of the city but order takeout from here at least once a month. The Best hand made won ton soup. A great Spicy Beef Satay soup I searched far and wide for, I tried a lot of Vietnamese restaurants and this is my favourite in Edmonton. Always fast, friendly and tasty food. This is a hidden gem of a place, they should be busier then they are as their food is amazing and their prices are very reasonable.“

“Another great lunch spot! I had the chicken pho which was very good. We also had an order of spring rolls which were done to perfection. One of our colleagues got the vermicelli bowl which is my usual go to for Vietnamese. I'll probably try that next time. It looked really good!“

“We came here for lunch on a Monday and it was quite crowded. We ordered a assorted beef noodle, a spicy beef and pork noodle, and a 5 item vermicelli. The portions here are quite large and the noodles were all tasty, especially the spicy noodle (34), bun bo hue. The spiciness reminds me of Thai food. The 5 items vermicelli include 3 grilled shrimps, pork patty, grilled pork chops, beef rolls and spring rolls! So much food but they were a bit overcooked. Overall experience was great!“
