This new one of the southside is my first visit here. This place is very different from the west side in that it’s a full service Restaraunt compared to the cafeteria style one in the west side.

Banh mi's are like $6.50 and very tasty if tasty was the movie rating of Interstellar. This place is literally the top 5 banh mi's I've ever had and definitely the cheapest. “We tried this place for the first time and food was delicious. Green onion cake was soft and actually had lots of green onions, which I loved. Both veggie and beef satay bahn mi very yummy, could use little more sauce, but otherwise amazing! Tofu salad rolls and sauce were perfect too. Will definitely come back and try more items. “We found Rice King in September 2022, it’s definitely one of the best Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants in Edmonton!

The food is very flavourful and the portions are plentiful. We particularly enjoy the Calamari, Bun Bo Hue, Singapore Rice Noodles, Beef Chow Fun, and Bun Dac Biet!

Jessica was so attentive, patient, and kind—came by many times to check on us and the food. I’ll recommend Rice King to anyone who asks for a quality restaurant!“

I have had at least five banh mi cold cut sandwiches in the past month or so. The staff are very friendly and quick to take your order and get you a glass of water if you are ordering to go. “Amazing service! Walked in to get a take out order and was assisted immediately. After helping me choose what I wanted on the menu, I sat down to wait for my order and was treated as a client dinning in while I waited! Order was completed exceptionally fast and accurate. I had to come on and write this review because this was the best Pho I’ve ever had in Edmonton. The green onion cakes and spring rolls topped the delicious order.

“Pho Hoan Pasteur never disappoints. I’ve been coming here for years and the food is always fresh, flavorful, and fast. Whether it’s the pho sate, vermicelli bowls, or green onion cakes, everything hits the spot. The staff are friendly and efficient—even when it’s packed during lunch or dinner, they keep things moving. With 7 locations now, it’s super convenient no matter where you are in Edmonton. Expect a bit of a wait during peak hours, but trust me—it’s worth it every time.“

“Pros: The selection is good, food is fresh and kept topped up. The restaurant is clean. Good neighborhood compared to downtown. Cons: They no longer offer garlic by the sauces. We were not offered drinks or water refill. The soup was almost dry and we’re not offered more broth. I even saw the next table get their own broth to fill themselves. There were 3 of us and the bill came to $99 dollars with no tax. The woman’s toilet seat was frozen! The owner reminded my teen son (not us) that there is a 1.5 hr limit. There is a sign on the wall to say stop wasting food - I never started wasting food! There’s less rude signs that mean the same thing. Overall we’d go back because of the food and value. We have low expectations on welcoming service.“

The dish tastes just like the ones you'd find in Vietnam (as per my husband cause he’s Vietnamese)—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and full of flavor. A great Spicy Beef Satay soup I searched far and wide for, I tried a lot of Vietnamese restaurants and this is my favourite in Edmonton. Always fast, friendly and tasty food. This is a hidden gem of a place, they should be busier then they are as their food is amazing and their prices are very reasonable.“
